View Full Version : IRC Chatroom?

I recently joined an IRC Chatroom and downloaded a client (Colloquy) for it. Its a computer geek room.

x360a should definitly look into one of these. They are only a few bucks a month from people Ive talked to.

The whole moderating thing can be controlled; veteran members get mod powers.

For those who dont know what an IRC is, its a chatroom that has a special web address. Then from the address you can create new "rooms" to chat in. Its like having a big MSN chat where anyone can join (and anyone can be booted).

Also this can be used via Application/Program or just by going to a URL.

For example:

live.pirillo.com is a live chatroom. I use an App so I dont have to use the URL, and it looks nicer.

I put this forwward befor and i think it was shot down due to the fact it would be difficult to moderate

I disagree.

I'm on a chatroom with live.pirillo.com.

It has 250+ people on at a time usually, and it is moderated fine.

Also we can make it unofficial so it isnt directly associated with x360a, so the site can get in to trouble.

From past experience, chat rooms kill forums. :(

Everyone discusses on the chat room and no one really bothers making threads anymore.
