I guess it depends on how much you enjoy wrestling games. If you just want the achievements, the rent it.

What matches are playable online, and how many people can play in one online match.

If you like wrestling games then buy it. If you want the full 1000g's I would say buy it, but if you just want like 800+ and dont like wrestling games rent it.

Compared to the 07 and 08 iterations of the game, I find 09 far superior. Whilst it is not perfect - in fact there are still animations present from games earlier than 07 - I find that the significantly reduced loading times, coupled with the enjoyment of the road to wrestlemania storylines makes this game a keeper. And this is coming from a not-so-big wrestling fan.

Download a demo, or try your friend's copy of the game, as it is still a matter of opinion, really.

it's far better than 08, and about as good as 07, so I'd say a buy

It is a lot better than 07 and 08, but that's like saying regular mud is better than gumbo mud.

Ever since this series went next gen, it's been a complete trainwreck and this game continues the tradition. The grapple system is much improved, but that's the only good thing I have to say about the game.

Road To Wrestlemania is ridiculous, keeping the par of the next gen games having the WORST storylines humanly imaginable (WTF is up with Taker's?). Career Mode is horribly tedious, with no story components whatsoever. And for some reason, the difficulty ramps up for no good reason when you're playing the World Championships paths.

It reminds me a lot of TNA Impact, great to play with friends but otherwise just a complete waste of time. Semi easy 1000 points though if you can survive the tedium of career mode, which is killing me right now.

If you're a WWE fan (you watch the shows and all) then it's definitely worth a buy. If you're not a big WWE fan and don't watch the shows but some of your friends have the game then its worth a buy because it can be good fun playing online with friends. If you have no interest in WWE and only want achievements then just rent it.

I would say buy because even if you dont like wwe its still a fun game
