I must admit I think the .com design was much better. Do you think it would be impossible to use that layout? If you talk to Groux and maybe he will let you guys keep the page updated?

For the main site or for the forums? The forums is just a theme, I can look for it if more people want it.

We use the content management system phpnuke on our main pages. The .com used something called Joomla.
It is doable to convert to that, but will take us a lot of hours to convert the documents, but if that's the thing the people want
we will certainly do so to make the site better.

The main reason we all got here was since groux never responded to any of our messages, so contacting him would be hard at this point.
It also seems like the .com website is having some problems. Been up and down the last day.

I meant like the main pages, I really liked the "graphics" if you know what i mean, the menu, the design of the page, the color scheme.

Ah, I can try to install it and add some guides to see how it looks, and put a poll for the users to decide what stays.
Will do that right away

Cool :)
The pure information on the page is amazing though, kudos for that! This is probably the best Xbox360 site, and the best idea for a site in a long time. Just so you guys don't feel im dissing the site or anything :)

The forums are great by the way, seem very friendly

Just spent the last 20 minutes to get familiar with the other content system.

I've made a test site at

(i know the logo needs to be changed on that one, just put one to see how it looked)

Do you think that page is a better solution? I can easily add all lists to that one instead

02-11-2006, 12:08 AM
too much white in my opinion

02-11-2006, 12:09 AM
yeah, needs a background colour- pale pastel green amybe???

other than that it looks way better

The colors/template can be changed.

I was mainly thinking of the buttons, layout etc.

definately an improvement

I am a fan of the site the way it is right now. The one thing I would change on it is that gamercards should be moved to the right hand side of the page or to start a new page with the staff and contributers on it.

On the main page of http://www.xbox360achievements.org/ the gamercards can get in the way of the news updates.

o i thought you meant in the forums, so you mean like where mine and routinex's are at the top of the page

Ya, that is what I am talking abought. All of the sites that I have seen that have gamercards on them put them to the side of the site. Hear are just a few links that put the gamercards on the side of the site and what it look like.

i didnt even have to look at any of those cause i visit major's site everyday and know exactly what you mean, RoutineX handles the layout of the home page so he will have to work on that. i dont know how to do any of that webpage stuff, but i know how to add a board ;D

02-11-2006, 05:01 AM
i just like how we have it, dont wanna copy another site...

02-11-2006, 10:24 AM
Hmm. I've added two blocks to the right on the main page, one with admin and one with contributors.
For some reason, it doesn't show as it is supposed to do. The images saying admins and contributors aren't
alligned to the left when visiting the site in Opera, but shows normal with IE.

How does it show for you FF users?

Should we add the gametags images in stead of just the nicks? It looked kinda cheap with only nicks

Added the gamecards for contributors on the other test site

i use Slimbrowser and it looks good, i think SB is based on IE tho so that could be it

02-11-2006, 01:47 PM
I use Slimbrowser too. Looks fine here.

02-11-2006, 02:02 PM
Nice, we've changed the main page to the new one. Hope you think it's better ;D

02-12-2006, 12:11 PM
i think the main forum page looks busy. would be worth putting all the arcade games within an arcade game section (i know they are, but one you have to click to open- like a forum)

just to declutter it a bit.

and maybe pput all the upcoming games, such as Top Spin, Tomb Raideer, Ghost Recon, The Outfit and Godfather in another seperate forum. just to declutter it again

**ok, just realised i can shut down the arcade games lol. DOH!!. but putting the new games intoa forum would still work **

02-12-2006, 12:27 PM
Yeah. You can press on i.eg the text "live arcade" to collapse the whole section.

I don't think making seperate fourms is a solution. Than all users have to register one time for each forum, pm's will be lying everywhere,
assigning permittion to mod/admins, setting up/maintain databases etc. More cost of diskspace on server as well (not that important, but just to mention).

02-12-2006, 12:48 PM
na, i didnt mean forum. guess i meant folder. you know like where you have say Off topic, open it up and theres all the different threads. like that, but for NUpcoming games.

sorry, really didnt explain myself well lol. hangovers suck

02-12-2006, 12:55 PM
put the upcoming games inm a sub forum isd wht he means, it will still be listed under the games with every other one, but you will see a topic calle d"upcxoming" instead of the games, and once you go into it you see forums spreading to whatever game

i use to do that on one of my forums may take a bit to do but it saves space and will help in the long run(well it will help better when you put sports games with sports and stuff but thats awile away stillO)

hope i made since its 5am here

02-12-2006, 12:58 PM
Yeah, that's an idea. And just move them to the main forums after the release.

02-12-2006, 01:00 PM
yeah, you understand me lol yay.

and once so many games are out you can put them in some type of gene if possible

02-12-2006, 01:12 PM
yeah, scooby got me lol
