Does anyone know if there is a specific date for the release of an update for COD3. I unlocked all of the single player achievments after two days, but I'm unable to join any online servers... so I can't get the rest!

I thought having a crappy modem was bad enough. :(

Is it ranked matches your having trouble with?

My problems aren't limited to ranked matches.... I'm also unable to join player matches. I did join one player match when I first played the game... but other than that one time, every attempt results in failure... :(

I suppose that's realistic in a sense... but I feel the same way. Unbalanced competitive games SUCK. It's a shame I can't play though. :(

XD. Even IF you do play online it sucks. I look for WAR and end up playing Battle.

Greetings,
We are currently looking into issues interfering with multiplay. We
hope to resolve this soon but in the meantime, the best way to play online
is through the custom match option. Set all the filters to "any" and
search for a server. Because many people are crowding the custom match
servers, don't be surprised if you get a "game session not available"
message. This is most likely a full server. Try the following for the best
results.

--Due to the requirements of host migration it is important that each
player have a good connection not only to the host, but to each of the
other players as well. If you are receiving any error messages when
attempting to join a game, something about your connection is not optimal
with regards to the other players or the hosts connection. Please keep
in mind that these network error messages may not go away completely as
they can be related to internet issues that are outside of your direct
control.

--If you are using a router try the following:
-Set port forwarding on your router to your XBox 360. Call of Duty 3
uses the standard XBox Live port of 3074 for communication, make sure
forwarding is set for both TCP and UDP
-Place your XBox 360 into the DMZ of your router.
-If both fail disconnect your router and try the game. If it works
regularely at this point something about your router may not be completely
compatible with either XBox Live or the specific needs of this game.
Check with your router manufacturer and Microsoft's XBox Live Connection
FAQ (http://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/support/xbox/live/faq/default.htm (http://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/support/xbox/live/faq/default.htm)) for
additional steps that may need to be done to resolve the issues you are
seeing.

yea but i have been connected fully to every game ive gotten in, never recieved any error messages b/c of my int connection; most of the time it will boot u at the lobby, freeze on the loading screen, or say game session no longer available

(oh and a tip to connecting faster to ranked matches - if it takes u longer than 5 1/2 or 6 min to find a match simply exit out to the multiplayer menu where you c the sys link, local play, and xbox live option, then from there retry connecting to a ranked match)

i some times get problems finding ranked matches but i have never ran into any problems with player matches. in a ranked match if it says waiting for players wait a minute and the game will fill. player matches if it glitches just sign out and back in and it will work fine

Ya... So my router is probably my biggest problem. I suppose I'll purchase a more compatable one soon.

I just put in Call of Duty 3 for the first time and got an update. Is this the update everyone is looking for or is this an earlier one?

If your router has been fine for other online games then don't, it's the game!! Don't let them try and get away from the fact that this game is F*cked and in serious need of a patch for ranked games.

Maybe Activision are in cahoots with router companies and only distribute games with dodgy multiplayer so that we have to buy 'better' routers.

Confused. You said RANKED matches, and the support guy is talking about CUSTOM matches.

Just found this on the Xbox.com forums:

"Hey Call of Duty fans,

Im Dan, the producer from Treyarch for Call of Duty 3 multiplayer. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone for playing the game. In the week since the release of Call of Duty 3, the development team has been playing online with the community and gathering feedback on the multiplayer experience. The feedback has been incredible, and weve thoroughly enjoyed every minute online with you guys.

We have also read every post on the forums, and we are working as quickly as we can to address the issues that gamers are experiencing. We are in progress on an update, in which we are working to alleviate the connectivity issues with Ranked and Player Matches. We are also adding several improvements based on feedback that we have gathered from the community.

Again, thank you for your support, patience and feedback. As we make progress with the update, we will keep you posted.

-Treyarch Multiplayer Team"

Sounds more promising than previous responses, but still no timeframe as to when it can be expected. :(

They haven't been playing! They've been waiting for a game! AND IF THATS TRUE, they would have released a patch by now! Since they have " played the game online" they should havbe encountered the problems by now.

So I have sat in a ranked match custom (all options on any)made room for thirty minutes waiting for a game while I did my homework. I have high speed internet, I live in San Diego, we have a great connection and no other game gives me problems. Its not my f*ucking router! How could they come out with this shitty ass version. I dont even want to play the regular game, I bought it for the multiplayer and I cant even play ranked matches. Is there a lessoned time for people since the begining as far as witing for matches? Any improvement at all?

Same story for everyone man. Was even worse in CoD2 when it was released, yet look how successful it became as a multiplayer game (and that's without achievements!). Once the games patched, we'll all be on there saying how good the game is and trying to get the elusive 40,000 point ach. Then when CoD4 comes round, it'll be the same story.

We all keep buying the games, we all bitch when it doesn't work right, and we all forgive when the patch comes out. Then when the next installment comes along...same old same old!
