View Full Version : cool site ideas for the future

02-13-2006, 04:48 AM
what if we had on the page with the achievement list for the game, below the cheats, links to reviews for the game created by members and links to guides for the games created by members. id b more than happy to make the site more complete by reviewing games i have or even creating guides. we could have multiple reviews for a second opinion 2. i no this is an achievements site, and we're just gettin started, but i still think it would help attract members and help evry1 in evry way possible- from whether to buy the game, to help for the game, and all the achievements and how to get them. it would b the ultimate 360 gaming site.

02-13-2006, 05:57 AM
i have requested reviews already to RX he said maybe in the future,

I think it would be cool to have a forum part and then have 2 MAIN ones to have posted on the site.

like two people be actul staff on the site(staff as in they write there reviews) and then other fans can make there own in a review section.

i Digg that

02-13-2006, 09:28 PM
well, 2 ppl couldnt write all of the reviews tho, wed need more....

02-13-2006, 09:30 PM
Yeah, it's a good idea.
I'll see if I can find a module to add reviews, or we could just make a sticky on every forum with only game reviews and have a link to the topic on every list.

02-13-2006, 10:44 PM
i considered that, but i think that would lead to way too many reviews and guides. i think it should be limited to like 3-4 reviews per game and 1-2 guides per game. maybe ppl should email u to apply for games to review it or write a players guide for it.

02-13-2006, 10:51 PM
The are 100 sites out there that have reviews of the games. We do not want to junk up the site with extra stuff that we cannot do as well as the IGN and GameSpot.com

02-13-2006, 10:56 PM
yes, i no, thats the problem im addressing. we'd need a system, so the site isnt cluttered with crap. u could apply for a game to one of the admins, and they could say "no, 2 ppl r already workin on that" or "ya, i think a second opinion on the one we already have would b good" or if ur preordering games u could apply for review/guide positions in advance. this may or may not work, this is all theoretical.

While I think the review idea is good, an even better idea would be to review each game from an achievements perspective. There are enough sites out there that review games based on their sound, gameplay, graphics and such. I think it would be more in tune with what we're trying to do here to do reviews based on achievements - do the games have too many, too few, are they lame, are they cool, how much time it takes to get them, how hard they are, etc.

Something like this as a "review" score:

Call of Duty 2: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpg
NBA Live '06: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpg
Ridge Racer 6: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpghttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/RoutineX/xbimages/icon-gp.jpg

or something like that. Each rating would obviously have a write-up of some kind.

My $0.02 worth. Thoughts?

02-14-2006, 12:58 AM
my thoughts exactly iceman, that sounds perfect for what this site is about

02-14-2006, 02:27 AM
my thoughts exactly iceman, that sounds perfect for what this site is about
That sounds like a great way to do it.

02-14-2006, 03:43 PM
yeah, a review on the achievements is what this site should do. if i want a review i go to ign or something like that. but noone tells you what the achievements are like. and as thats what this site is all about...

02-14-2006, 04:38 PM
We could do it on how hard it is to get the achievements.
How long it takes to get all the achievements.
Under 5 hours
Under 10 hours
Under 20 hours
Under 100 hours
Over 100 hours
Madden: Easy, under 5 hours
PDZ: Hard, Over 100 hours
King Kong: Easy (just have to beat the game to get all of the achievements), Under 20 hours

02-14-2006, 04:49 PM
yeah, and then a few sentences on what you need to for the achievments if needed, and a few tips

ie Fifa

Easy game, if youve played before you will achieve all the points in 5 hours or so.

Cup Qualification
Qualified for the FIFA World Cup in the Road to FIFA World Cup mode.
All you need to do is to go through and complete the Road to The World Cup. Theres about 15 games to play, so at 4 minutes a game you can be done quite quickly!

Wiin World Masters
Won the World Masters tournament in the Road to FIFA World Cup mode.
This is a tournament you play in during the Road to The World Cup. Theres only 3 games, so quite easy to win the tournament! Will only take you half an hour maximum.

Win International Open
Won the International Open in the Road to FIFA World Cup mode.
AGain, this is another tournament you play during the Road to The World Cup. Nothing more to it than that!

Win Custom League
Won a League tournament created in the Create Tournament Mode.
You need to have 10 teams in the league, and you play each other team once so 9 games. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Whoever has the most points at the end wins!

Win Custom Knockout
Won a Knockout tournament created in the Create Tournament Mode.
8 teams in the tournament minimum, and its just a normal knockout competition.

Win on Perfect
Won a match playing on Perfect difficulty level. If you get stuck, just change your controller to the other team!!

thats all it needs to be, but would stop a lot of repeat questions being answered.

02-14-2006, 04:53 PM
Minty, that is great and would mike this a better site to have info on how to get the achievements for a game.

02-14-2006, 04:57 PM

If its going to be appreciated, ill start on the other games iv played: Kameo, PGR3 (Groux has already done), Perfect Dark, Tiger Woods, Full Auto and NBA live 06

NBA Live 06

This is an easy game to get the 1000 points, all offline apart from 1 game. Can get all the points in a few hours. A season can be simmed in approximately 10 minutes, and maybe another 10 minutes to alter the rosters.

Online Win
This user has won a game against an online opponent. This ill probably be the hardest achievement to get. Luckily we have a thread for forum users to play each other to get this!! How nice are we?!
NBA LIVE 06 Created Player
This user has created a player in NBA LIVE 06. Literaly create any player you want. Easy points- it’s a 2 minute job.
In Season Mode, a player on the user team has made the NBA All-Star team. Like many of the points in this game, you can sim the season. Long as you have sone like Shaq or Kobe in your team, no problems.
Clinched Playoffs
In Season Mode, this user's team has made the playoffs. You can sim a season all the way through this. The safest way to do it is to transfer all the decent payers to one team. Such as Wade, Shaw and Kobe
Most Valuable Player
In Season Mode, a player from this user's team has won the Most Valuable Player award. If you have the decent players in your team, youll get this as well.
NBA Champions
In Season Mode, this user has won the NBA Championship. Once again, can Sim straight through for this.
Best Regular Season Record
In Season Mode, this user's team had the best record at the end of the regular season. Again, an easy sim!!
Coach of the Year
In Season Mode, the coach of the user team has won the Coach of the Year award. Guess what, you can sim this one as well.
Rookie Difficulty Win
This user has beaten a CPU opponent in a game set on Rookie difficulty. 2 minute quartes is the minimum, so a game in under 10 minutes.
Starter Difficulty Win
This user has beaten a CPU opponent in a game set on Starter difficulty. Same as Rookie, just slightly harder!
All-Star Difficulty Win
This user has beaten a CPU opponent in a game set on All-Star difficulty. Slightly harder again.
Superstar Difficulty Win
This user has beaten a CPU opponent in a game set on Superstar difficulty.

Tiger Woods

All these achievements have to be completed online. To get most of the points will take absolutely aaaaaages lol. Some aren’t achievable though.

Baller Status
Win 50 wagers . Takes a little while, but youll get there eventually.
Eagle Extravaganza

Try a Tournament

Birdie Buster
Make 100 Birdies. Again, youll pick this up in no time. Tournaments are again a good way of getting these

Aces Wild
Make 25 Hole in Ones. Game breakers are a must here, but youll get them going through the game.
On Fire!
Have a win streak of 15 games or more in a game mode. This is a toughie, not many people have this at all.

Compete in each of the online game modes at least once DOESN’T WORK!!
Number 1
Achieve #1 ranking in any online game mode DOESN’T WORK!!
King of the Hill
Finish an online Tournament at the top of the leaderboard . Good luck is all I can say. Most winning scores are sub 44. if your that good, youll getit!!

Aren't You Sick of This Yet?
Compete in 1,000 online matches. This one will take you a little while lol.

Madden 06

What do you think of this Routine? I think that it would be good to have reviews based on how hard it is to get the achievements.

Weapon 117
02-14-2006, 11:13 PM
There is a site called http://www.gamerankings.com/ that averages the reviews of every game rated. So what I'm thinking is get the reviews for every 360 game from every major site out there (i.e. IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, Teamxbox, etc) and average them out instead of listing them all one by one.

02-14-2006, 11:17 PM
Sounds like a good idea doing reviews based on achievement difficulty and adding how to do all achievements.
Do you think we should make a forum posts with the howtos or make pages like the achievement lists and link to them from there?

Weapon 117
02-14-2006, 11:54 PM
I say make pages like the achievement lists and link to them from there.

02-15-2006, 12:31 AM
Try to visit the Fifa 2006 link from the main page and look at the achievement tips link.
Did you want it to be something like this? (don't mind the spellings. have to fix some).

02-15-2006, 01:30 AM
yes, i think that would b nice, thats actually perfect. btw, could i have ur permission 2 do a guide for call of duty 2? ive been longing to do this since i came up with this whole concept.

02-15-2006, 02:54 AM
That looks good. Yet, we may want to put the points that you get for geting an achievement. Some achievements seam like they take alot of time, yet you get allot of points for it.
Example: Madden
Complete 30 Years of Franchise
Successfully complete 30 years of Franchise mode.
It seam a bit hard, but you get 400 achievement points for it. That is not hard for gitting 400 points.

02-15-2006, 09:19 AM
on the madden one you need to put a time in there like 3-4 hours

02-15-2006, 10:28 AM
should be list of the game, what you have to do, how many points ansd how many hours or time and what not
