I just downloaded Major Nelson's podcast and he talked of a Xbox Community Developer Program. You should take a look and apply for it. If you get in you will get info on changes to the gamer card.

For those that are interested, this is the information that is available to us so far. Granted, this page is NOT PRETTY, but then again, I put together the application that does it in just a few hours:

For those that are interested, this is a Java web application, written using Xerces to handle the XML processing, Struts to handle the back-end logic control, and JSTL to handle the building of the pages that you'll see.

That is great looking! Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

If you guys have ANY suggestions on a format for this, suggest away!  We currently don't have access to a gamer's Friends List, so I may add a mySQL backend to have folks do that manually in the meantime.  What I'd like to do it do some type of chart with everyone you want that would basically show a grid of everyone, with a bar or graph in it that shows your completion level compared to everyone else in the list.

What would be REALLY cool would be for RoutineX to put something together that would allow this information to be integrated into the Member List page. Possibly total score, reputation, and the mini-icons for up to the last six games played.

What do you guys think?

Here's something a little more "polished" - still not a finished product, but it looks much nicer now:

Here's a slight variation on a GamerCard that's possible - gives a quick glance at how "thoroughly" a gamer is completing or has completed the games they started. The Zone has been removed, and the Reputation "stars" have been moved under the GamerTile ...

That is good, but I would like to see the last few games that each person has played. That way, you can tell when someone gets a new game.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'aren't obtainable'? Any specific game or gamertag I can look at to see?

These are for individual achievements? They haven't given us access to that level of detail just yet. We only have the gamer information and the "high" level game information - no details on the achievements yet. Basically, everything you see on my first screenie is all we have access to right now.

can you check ST TheKings see how mayn achievements he has out of how many and like points etc, i really wanna see those stats of his

TheIcemanCometh
02-26-2006, 07:18 PM
I have already. I used his for testing. I actually had to put in a tweak for the PlayOnline Viewer for the FFXI beta, since it doesn't show up with any achievements, even though it shows up in the "games" list. ;)

g4m3r7ag
02-26-2006, 07:20 PM
well can you like post his card or whatever so that we can see number of achievements out of and like score out of and stuff

TheIcemanCometh
02-26-2006, 07:25 PM
I just realized there is a problem with doing a gamercard that way - at least with the information we have now. It only shows the last 16 games you've played - he has 25. Keeping that little "bug" in mind, here's his card:

g4m3r7ag
02-26-2006, 07:34 PM
that sucks since like all his perfects are from 16 and on, but cool none the less

TheIcemanCometh
02-26-2006, 07:42 PM
I agree. Maybe I'll put a post out on the forum to see why they did it that way and see if they're ever going to change it.

Here's a quick mockup I did for the grid I mentioned in Reply #8 in this thread. That's all I'm doing today - put in ten hours at work and I'm exhausted There's no application code behind this at all yet - just putting out feelers.

The games that go across the top would be based on the last 8 games playe by the player creating the list, and would also be the first person shown in the grid.  There are other tweaks that could be made, such as what to do if the first player had played less than eight games, whether to sort the 2nd and below gamers by overall gamerscore (not currently shown), by gamertag, or something else. The percentages you see are based on the number of achievements, not the points.

What do you guys think?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

BTW, I still have something to research for getting the first application running on my website - for some reason it's not working. As soon as I have it ready, I'll give you guys the address so you can play with it. Then I'll work on getting it integrated with TechIsCool's background image, then getting this puppy coded.

Now, it's time to relax and get ready to watch "24." Woo-hoo!:D

I figured out most of the issues, and you guys can play around with it now.  There are still some things to resolve, but at least it's "fit for consumption" now.

Kick the tires, let me know what you think, and let me know if you have any issues.

That is great. For the Gamerscore, douse it count the demos of the games you have played, or douse it just cout the games you own? Is there a way to make it, so games that you do not own, do not show up? Keep up the good work.

It is showing that my gamerscore is 4800, yet my score is over 8k. It is just counting my score from the last 16 games I have played.

This is correct - it's on Microsoft's end. In the XML feed they are providing for us, it only shows (up to) the last 16 games someone has played. There have been many requests in the special XCDP Forum for them to increase that to all games played.

I'm not filtering the "games played" list in any way from the XML feed we're being provided - what we get is what you're seeing. We are not getting any information in that feed that tells us whether or not it's a demo - just a "game played."

Can you "split" this image up into the individual cells/sections that I'd need to build the table with? The first attempt I'd like to try would be to use your pieces as backgrounds inside the HTML tables I'm using. I'll need the sections for the headers, and the sections for one odd row (white) and one even (gray) row.

If you want to e-mail them, just send them to the MSN address in my profile, and let me know.

Danke.
