:welcomeHi everyone, lets begin the guide for this nice hack&slay title :D
Since the tiles for the achievements are all the same, i will leave them out in the beginning. If someone really wants it included, pm me pls :)
Highlighted the Achievements you need to read to get all Achievements.

credits for contribution:
big thanks to Rewmac
Hint

I can't post it often enough so:

ATTENTION: Don't do mission 9 unless you checked:
- All Missions have 0 Retries
- All Mission have an A+ ranking
- Most Subscores have A+ ranking
If you beat the game and you don't unlock "your work is done" and "ninja school valedictorian" at this point you won't be able to unlock either ALL OUTFITS and/or EMBLEMS for this savefile !!

Update: Glitch has been patched!

Misc. Achievements

Good Job 40 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all missions on Normal or higher game difficulty

See "Musashi's Way"

Musashi's Way 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all missions on Hard or higher game difficulty

Complete all missions with the setting changed to hard. Do the first 8 Missions and then Mission 9. If you have done Mission 9 prior to the rest, in some cases you have to beat it again for the achievement to unlock. QTE difficulty can be set to normal. For the first playthrough I recommend normal and once you have the Moonlight Sword replay on Hard(you can change the difficulty in the option/setting menu).

Yes, I Am That Good 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve a 10 Hit Combo

See "Showboat"

Showboat 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve a 100 Hit Combo

The 100 hit combo is easily done on the last mission against any of the worms. Just start shooting with the machine gun, press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lb.png for ninja when reloading then cancel ninja vision and continue to shoot. Takes around 15 seconds for the 100 hit combo

Not Too Shabby 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve a 3 Kill Combo.

See "Show-Off"

Show-off 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve a 50 Kill Combo

First mission when chasing the spider type carrier after you get the falcon knives. Now grapple hook to the next building, run up the wall and be careful now. You'll see two groups of bats. Approach the one near the spider slowly. They will start coming towards you. Now head backwards to the first group, use Cyclone shuriken to kill them in an instant.

I'm Rubber and You're Glue 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Deflect an enemy's projectile

See "Ya can't touch this"
Pops up during the mission

Ya Can't Touch This 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Deflect 20 projectiles

Fastest way to do is in Mission 1. You'll come to and area with 6 Guys who have an arm(Gunners), which looks like a gun in some way. They will fire projectiles and you can deflect them with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png or http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png. You need some timing and it is deflected once your blade hits it. It is a lot easier with the dual knives and use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lt.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png to deflect it. When you have the Lightning Shuriken you can use the standart move and create a "barrier" against projectiles, which reflects them. But if you play through the game, it will come naturally after a few missions.

Nothing Left But the Dying 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete a Finish Attack

See "One with the blade"

One with the Blade 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Kill 25 enemies with the Finish Attack move

During your way through Mission 1 you will learn, that you can finish enemies with pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png quickly before they die. After that you have to press 2 Buttons in a mini QTE. Once done repeat it 24 times.

How Ya Like Me Now?! 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete a Todomé attack

A Todomé attack is nothing else as a QTE to finish a boss. You initiate it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.png after the Boss' HP is at zero. You get this by killing the Pox Giant in Mission 1.

Let Off Some Steam 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Use the Cyclone Shuriken to put out a fire

You will learn during Mission 1 how to use Ninjutsu. Go near the fire blocking the path and press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/b.png and this will pop up.

Burn, Baby, Burn 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Use the Flame Shuriken to set an enemy on fire

Mission 2: You enter a dark room, set the plant on fire, which is on the right side and glowing(highlighted green in Ninja Vision)

Lightning Strikes Twice 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Use the Lightning Shuriken to charge the surface of water and shock an enemy

Mission 3: you will encounter 2 Gunner behind large metal bars, just throw the shuriken and they will be stunned and achievement unlocks

Chewy on the Inside 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Destroy a piece of armor

You will receive your third sword during mission 1. This should pop up after you got the Stonerender and break the shield of the Carrier waiting in the room.

A Perfect 10 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve 20 "Perfect" button presses in a row during a Quick Time Event

Not so hard as it may sound at first, after you get some pratice, you easily do perfects and excellents. I know that the description says 10 in row but at the moment you have to do 20! and it has been confirmed by multiple fellow gamers.

The moment for "Perfect" is when the outer ring is the same as the whole Button Image displayed. If you have played Lost Odyssey you know what I mean.

The first 6 inputs are:
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.png
2*2 Flying Demons, Dodge against Pox Giant

If you get these 6 perfects, battle the Pox Giant. Let yourself grab 14 more times and the achievement will pop up. Or do the whole 20times with the grabs, but you will need 1-2 first aid sprays to survive it.

Ninja School Valedictorian 75 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve a Total Play(Completion Score) Result A+ ranking

Unlocks at 50000 Overall Completion Score. For further Information see "Your Work is Done"

Your Work Is Done 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all missions without retrying

First off missing a QTE does not count as a Retry. Only if you die or reload a checkpoint. This two 2 Achievements are in most cases impossible to unlock if you don't get them in your first try, due to a glitch in the overall Stats after you replay a Mission on a "Completed Savegame". Before you attempt Mission 9, make sure you have beaten all 8 Missions with 0 Retrys, A+ completion Score and a lot of A+ in the subscores in the Mission Score menu. 2 other Achievements depends on these two as well. Update: A patch has been released which fixes the overall stats if you have XBL, for the gamers who play offline the glitch will remain.

"...And that's all I need." 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all missions using only one of the swords to attack

To get this achievement you have to use just a single sword from your 3 available. Of course you can use Ninjutsu(just for Demi: you can use it for fires and OF COURSE enemies...), switch Swords to break a wall or grapple, but don't fight with other Swords. Difficulty Setting doesn't matter and is cumulative.

Here is a small list for an easy playthrough:
Mission 1: Stonerender
Mission 2: Stonerender
Mission 3: Stonerender
Mission 4: Dual Knives
Mission 5: Stonerender
Mission 6: Stonerender or Dual Knives
Mission 7: Stonerender
Mission 8: Ninja Blade
Mission 9: Stonerender(lvl5) or Ninja Blade

Collectible and Upgrade Achievements:

Note that you can replay any chapter if you select "Mission select" during the briefing screen. You can and should upgrade Swords and Ninjutsu during missions with opening the menu by pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/back.png and select the corresponding option.

It Slices! It Dices! 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Upgrade a sword

See "Hattori Hanzo Achievement Award"

Hattori Hanzo Achievement Award 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Upgraded all swords to their maximum level

Each sword has 5 Levels. Upgrade to Level 4 is standart and the price for upgrading is the same on Normal and Hard, but Level 5 are unlocked as followed:
Lvl 5 Oni Slayer Blade: Ninja Blade is available after mission 8.
Lvl 5 Dual Knives: Unlocked after every Mission had a completion Score and Overall Score being min. A.
Lvl 5 Stonerender: Collect all shinobi moji, then start Mission 5. Kill the Blastmite and after Kuroh held his little speech just head straight forward. Turn left to the first opening you see, the sword will be there.

If you upgrade the last sword in the briefing screen, it will unlock once you start a mission.
You could farm some orbs, but if you play through it you have enough orbs to upgrade them all without farming.

Enter the Way of the Ninja 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Upgrade Ninjutsu

See "Snatch the Pebble"

Snatch the Pebble 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg

I strongly recommend doing this on Normal, you take less damage and kill Enemies and Bosses much faster. Upgrading your Swords and Ninjutsu will help a lot.

Mission.001: Speed Demon 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 001 within 30 minutes

The Key for this are the Boss Battles. If you don't know how to kill them and react to their attack you lose much time. Easiest done with Moonlight Sword(lvl5 Stonerender) and do http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png,http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png(hold) to kill any boss with a few hits.

Mission.002: Master of Style 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 002 with more than 20 Finish Attacks

Unlocked by performing 20+ Finish Attacks. You can farm some easy ones during the fights against the Impaler Leech and the Slime Chopper. The grey unshielded ones will more or less constantly spawn and can be finished after one hit with a Level 4+ Stonerender

Mission.003: Hit Combo Fever 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 003 with a Max Hit Combo above 30

Easily done in the area where you have to fight bats along with multiple carriers at once. Do it either with Cyclone Shuriken or Dual Knives.

Mission.004: Ninja Sky Marshall 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 004 with less than 30% jet plane damage

Unlocked by finishing the Mission with less than 30% damage on the Jet's Health bar. Just get to the final fight with all 3 Hydraheads(Hydra Thundercore) then die and retry. Health is full again and now finish the fight!

Mission.005: Nick of Time 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 005 within 40 minutes

Once you get all shinobi moji you'll be able to get to a seal door right after the very firts boss fight of the game. After Kuroh tells you, you have to kill 3 of them you will regain control over Ken. Now start heading straight forward and turn left to the opening. Go in acquire the Moonlight Sword and achievement unlocked. Or run past the Carriers, grapple through the caves and beat the Stalker Lava with one try.

Mission.006: You Want Some? 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 006 with a Max Kill Combo above 10

I did this after Kuroh begins to ring the Gong and passing the 2 Pox Giants. Some Bats appear and just kill the swarm with Cyclone shuriken equipped and pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/b.png

Mission.007: Back in a Flash 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 007 within 50 minutes

Try to avoid unnecessary fights and just grapple your way through the caves and defeat the bosses. Even if the message appears to kill all carriers, you just need to kill the bosses. There are 4 Bossfights you already know. For the Cyclone shuriken you fight the yakuza pair. After that the first version of the Pox Giant for the Fire shuriken and then finally the Crab to receive the lightning shuriken. Final boss is a Arachne with fire on the legs.

Mission.008: Only a Flesh Wound 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 008 without taking 1000 points of damage

Once you complete the game on hard diffculity you unlock the 4th ninjutsu. This gives you a protective aura. Beat the mission on normal, reload manually if you take too much damage and you get it. Using Adrenalin Boosts and swapping Swords to avoid the overtime damage by the Ninja Blade help a lot.

Mission.009: That Just Happened! 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 009 without retrying

This can be tough, but once you beat it, the next time you won't fail. Don't worry, only death counts as a retry. If you fail a quick time event that doesn't matter. However the beginning is a tricky part with all those rocket launching guys down there. Try to use the Grenades, activate Ninja Vision and aim for the red barrels to take them down.

I'd like to help you out. The 100 hit combo is easily done on the last mission against any of the worms. Just start shooting with the machine gun, press LB for ninja when when reloading then cancel ninja vision and continue to shoot. Takes around 15 seconds for the 100 hit combo.

One with the Blade 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Kill 25 enemies with the Finish Attack move

Actually it pops up when you have done the 25th. During a mission.

"...And that's all I need." 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all missions using only one of the swords to attack

Actually you need the Moonlight Sword (LvL 5 Stonerender) for this. Since once you complete the game the Oni Slayer blade will become the Ninja Blade and it'll drain you health every 15 seconds. Plus the Moonlight Sword is much stronger. Although it might be done with another tactic since in mission 8 you'll need the ninja blade... I think it's safe to say that each mission requires you to use one sword and not one sword during the whole game.

Mission.002: Master of Style 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 002 with more than 20 Finish Attacks

Easiest way is to get the LvL 5 Stonerender. Now attack with X after one hit all enemies should have a Y sign above their head.

Mission.003: Hit Combo Fever 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 003 with a Max Hit Combo above 30

Just do a hit combo above 30, easily done with the falcon knives.

Mission.004: Ninja Sky Marshall 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 004 with less than 30% jet plane damage

The thing is you have to avoid the jet plane to take 30% or more damage during the last boss fight in this mission. Easy.

Mission.005: Nick of Time 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

There will be a passage. Go in acquire the weapon and achievement unlocked.

Mission.006: You Want Some? 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 006 with a Max Kill Combo above 10

Kill 6 enemies in rapid succession.

Mission.008: Only a Flesh Wound 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 008 without taking 1000 points of damage

Once you complete the game on hard diffculity you gonna get the 4th ninjutsu. This gives you a protective aura. Beat the mission on normal and you should get it. I was able to get 1200 dmg without the ninjutsu.

Mission.009: That Just Happened! 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete Mission 009 without retrying

This can be tough, but once you beat it, the next time you won't fail. Don't worry, only death counts as a retry. If you fail a quick time event that doesn't matter.

Walk-in Closet 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Complete most of the levels to A+ (it's not hard at all on normal when you are well upgraded). Now when you see A+ at the overall mission stats, just complete the last level again. That's it achievement unlocked.

Achieve a 50 Kill Combo

First mission when chasing the spider type carrier. You get the falcon knives. Now grapple hook to the next building, run on the wall and careful now. You'll see two groups of bats. approach the one near the spider slowly. They wil start to come towards you and attack. Now head backwards to the another group. Go into ninja vision mode and start spinning with LT + Y (you need to upgrade the weapon at least once). If you get too close to the spider though the boss fight QTE will start.

thx for the help :) by the way is it possible to change the difficulty of the game on the same savefile? i haven't seen this option so far

the achievement with 25finishing kills came on the score screen, maybe todomé counts to this as well...

question concerning the outfits. do you mean there are 2 outfits per level or really just one per level unlocked after you get A+ overall?

Rewmac
02-24-2009, 11:38 AM
Yes. It is possible to change the difficulity. Just head into option change it and beat the mission. I suggest doing it backwards from mission 8 since those are a bit more difficult and this way it'll get easier every mission. Once done with Mission 1-8, do the last mission on hard which is a pain in the ass. I haven't completed it myself.

well thats why i am creating a list where every "collectible" can be found and would be nice, if anyone can provide help with this

it is just a guess, but maybe some emblems and outfits depend on certain stats being A+ or maybe it's the overall score for the mission dont know so far.

@hint did you replay all missions and completed them without dying? if so and the achievement didnt unlock, i guess you have to do it in a fresh savefile without dying during the missions.

I think it's possible, but if achievement will glitched again I'll "very angry". So, and I think for completing game without dies, I'll get outfit or emblem, but on new save it won't count.

i discovered a bug(or maybe it is intended), i finished the game on normal and had 44 retries overall. i got back to mission 3, beat it without retrying and improved it, after that the overall score is something around 2,5 mill and retries are at -2,5 million. overall playtime is counted with 99h 59m 59sec...
well i don't know if my savegame is just glitched or not...however i have to do a new save for the silly "no death" achievement....

Upgraded all swords to their maximum level

Each sword has 5 Levels and the price for upgrading is the same on Normal and Hard. To farm some orbs replay Mission 7. It's the one, which i did in 30 min with 20k+ orbs.
Lvl 5 Oni Blade is available after mission 8
Lvl 5 Dual Knives unlocked after I found the emblem in Mission 3 - Rewmac edit : This unlocked for me after I gathered enogh orbs and gathered all shinobi moji
Lvl 5 Stonerender - Easy as hell. Collect all shinobi moji, then start Mission 5, kill the first boss of the level. Then you'll be at the point where Kuroh tells you you have to kill 3 bugs. Just head straight forward. and turn left to the first opening you see, the sword will be there. Also note : After Kuroh tells his staff, turn right there are some containers there is a health orb.

don't why it has to be 20 when it says ten. maybe the programmed it wrong...but i got it after 6 perfects in the beginning of mission 1 and doing 14more grap escape from the pox giant.

Damn. Okay well it looks like it will be 20 Pox Giant times tonight at some point.

I hate getting stuck on an achievement and not progressing through the level.

Last thing....when it comes to the level achievements with one sword does that count as the QTEs? For example level 1 QTE uses the regular sword then you are able to change after you reach the building

cra
02-27-2009, 09:58 PM
once you swing your sword you are bound to it for the mission, if you want the achievement, switching for grapple and breaking walls is ok of course. otherwise you couldn't finish any level. QTE doesn't matter since Ken will always use all 3 during the mission in QTE...

Okay so I am trying to get the 100 hit combo on the first Worm in the second level.

I keep hitting him and prolonging my combo with Ninja Vision but he keeps dying. First time it was around 94 hits, then 84, then 74, then 92. Is there a particular spot I should be aiming for? Like above the head, below at the body, etc. I unload a clip in this SOB and it doesn't register as hitting him the entire clip (80 or so bullets)

cra

do it not on the 2nd level, during the mission 9 you fight 2 worms as subbosses, so i think its a lot easier than trying it already on mission 2.

If you haven't got the 100 hit combo yet? Or anyone else... a great place to do it is mission 8 whilst fighting Kanbe on the tower.

Wait until he creates multiple versions of himself, let 'em surround you and keeping using your wind Shuriken. I managed a 162 hit combo this way.

well it is said in the achievement to do this in level 9 anyway ;)

A+ is the overall completion score, not the single subcategories, but having most of these in the mission nets you an A+ overall anyway. updated it in the guide to a make it clear.

you can change difficulty in the briefing menu and in the middle of the missions if you go to the settings option and change it there. don't know what happens if you change it before you the final boss in the mission. to be safe i would play the entire game with the setting selected before beginning a mission.

you died to often during one mission and you get a prompt if you want to change to easy. most people press A so fast, that they overread it. anyway there is no need to start on hard, because you can change difficulty in the briefing menu after or if you want during each mission. playing on hard with moonlightsword is the best you can do to remain sane :)

It might be beneficial for some x360a users to know what constitutes as a "retry" in Ninja Blade.

In the purpose of science ;) I died many times in mission two, however, instead of "loading last checkpoint" I always used to quit. Sure, I had to start the level again but the stats didn't seem to take the death into account.

On the try where I completed the level I died twice and reloaded the checkpoint (simply because I wanted the torture to end). When I finished, the stats read two retries.

So, maybe that is a sneaky way to get around this difficult achievement without starting a new game every time or multiple saves? Just an idea.

Edit: This is for "Your Work Is Done".

The game only considers those "deaths-and-retry" and "manually-loaded-checkpoints" as RETRYs, excluding those failed QTEs. And for each mission, the stats only record your best result for each event, which means the stats for each mission you see is a combination of your several attempts. So, no need to start a new game, just do that mission again and do not die.

Yes. The game will upgrade your best hit on every subscore and finally increase your Overall Completion Score (the score for beating the game) accordingly, but it won't do this on your every mission's completion score.(In other words, for each specific mission, you have to get a higher score to overwrite the former one.)

JieXY

With plasma shield, it becomes more possible.:)

If you don't have that, yet, no problem, you can also rely on Reload and Ninja Vision, plus the LV5 Stonerender (Moonlight). Basic rule -- Got hit? Reload.

Before Kanbe uses his shield, you can pretty much rush to him, press and hold X to perform the most powerful attack with your Stonerender. You better do all this while your Ninja Vision is on.

The last phase of Kanbe can also be dealt with by this way. Switch to your Ninja Blade, rush to him, attack once (his shield is now breached), switch to Stonerender, open Ninja Vision, press and hold X then release. Do this twice or thrice and he is toasted. Use Wind Shuriken and Ninja Blade (LT + X) to deal with the bats and shadows in between.

Note: You don't need to charge your attack when performing the Stonerender X movement. Release X as soon as you see Ken has his stance ready (to pull off a shockwave). Also make sure your BLADE hit Kanbe, not only the shockwave, to ensure maximum damage. If you have adrenaline boost, you can finish the mission faster and safer.

I don't think there's a way to do so. Make sure you don't die too much, and clearly check every message that pops up when you are making progress. Someone accidentally triggered the difficulty to easy due to too many deaths in a level and the ignorance of a game message saying changing difficulty.

A Perfect 10 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
Achieve 20 "Perfect" button presses in a row during a Quick Time Event

Not so hard as it may sound at first, after you get some pratice, you easily do perfects and excellents. I know that the description says 10 in row but at the moment you have to do 20! and it has been confirmed by multiple fellow gamers.

The moment for "Perfect" is when the outer ring is the same as the whole Button Image displayed. If you have played Lost Odyssey you know what I mean.

The first 6 inputs are:
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.pnghttp://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.png
2*2 Flying Demons, Dodge against Pox Giant

If you get these 6 perfects, battle the Pox Giant. Let yourself grab 14 more times and the achievement will pop up. Or do the whole 20times with the grabs, but you will need 1-2 first aid sprays to survive it.

This must have been patched, as I definitely only did ten in a row. I stuffed up the first Y at the beginning of mission one (so there's no way perfects carried over from the previous mission), and then only got grabbed by the Pox Giant seven times before it unlocked.

1)Yes. Replaying each mission on Hard unlocks the achievement for beating Hard.
2) No. You don't need to start a new file, just REPLAY all the missions you have played (in mission selection screen). That way you can still have all your collectibles and upgrades, otherwise you will have to start from scratch again.

I got it simply be spaming Y with Falcon Knives on 3rd Mission. Its about a middle of the mission, where you have to grapple to next building and bat getting to you as well as 3 gunrunner.... Just smashing Y direct after getting there.... got 63 kill combo without any tricks and even without using Ninja Vision.

Regarding the Your Work Is Done 20.

Do you need to get everything A+ or just the completion score? It is hard to get all A+..

this achievement contains finishing the game without dying so i don't understand your question. if you meant ninja school valedictorian, well just the OVERALL completion score, but to get it up to 50k+ you will need you A+ most of the subscores in all missions anyway

GradeAbra

Where can you find the Plasma Shield?

cra
06-09-2009, 07:12 AM
beat the game on hard for the plasma shield ninjutsu. you can earn the 50k+ overall score on any difficulty, but since i never used easy i did it on normal

GradeAbra
06-09-2009, 05:04 PM
So do i just need to make sure i get A+ for the OVERALL score? Becos i always got B or even C+ for most sub score.

cra
06-09-2009, 06:50 PM
simple answer YES. but without lots of A+ in the subscores you won't even scrath the 50k mark in the overall score. however you can boost your score a bit with the high combo trick in the first pox giant fight in chapter 1. for more information try searching the forum...

GradeAbra

by chapter 8 how do i know if i will hit 50k by end of chapter 9??

cra
06-10-2009, 05:36 PM
if you have 45+ overall if you add all overall in mission stats you should get it if you don't die too often, preferably never. since you patched the game it is not a problem if you don't get 50k. you can repeat it as often as you want and improve the score on other missions too.

GradeAbra
06-11-2009, 01:19 PM
If i go into chapter 9 just to get the last SM and quit, can i go back to get the moonlight sword? Is this possible? Or do i need to complete chapter 9 first? I want to playthrough all the previous chapter with the Moonlight Sword.

Now i just finish chapter 8 i need to replay all the mission and get the best score out of it. I got too many retry.. If i get them back to 0, will that count? What happens if i did mission 9 badly?? Can i quickly reset before the game save my data??

cra
06-11-2009, 01:22 PM
erm even after you did mission 9 you can select any mission again to play it again as often as you want to. so i don't know why you are asking. guess you have to complete the mission, never tried to quit it midway.

GradeAbra

I dunno if the patch work properly... i am just playing safe.. If the patch don't work, all my previous hard work will be screwed...

cra

the patch only fixed the overall stats glitch. nothing more. if it does not work you wont get the full 1k with this save but around 900 should be doable.

cra
06-11-2009, 04:57 PM

By the way is the Moonlight best weapon to use for any stages? I am sick of using the Ninja Blade after it powers up before that it was good. It drains your life fast... Remind me of Akujiki from Shinobi..

I decided to do hard mode playthough after i got the Moonlight aiming for all A+ at the same time.

Have any idea how can i get higher QTE ranking? I am, always stuck at C+ eventhough i did not miss any QTE... I set mine to easy.. do i have to set it to normal?

I believe, unlike most of the other ranking categories, that the QTE score is based on the difficulty level. I did my initial playthrough with it set to normal. On my second playthrough I tried playing a level with it set to easy and my QTE score was far lower than it was on normal. I then tried setting it to hard and I was able beat my old score.

One warning though, the QTE's are waaaaay more difficult on hard since there are more buttons you have to press, they are more random (i.e. when you die and retry the QTE the buttons are always different whereas on easy/normal they are normally the same), etc.. I didn't like failing the QTEs multiple times so I wound up just keeping my scores from when I played through with QTE set to normal and still was able to get the A/A+ overall rankings but increasing the other categories instead so it's not necessary to have your QTE score that high. Hope that helps.

GradeAbra

I would set it to normal then. Easy mode QTE never give you rank A or even close.

How do i know if i will get 45+ overall? Each mission with A+ rank will give you 10000 by mission 8 it should be 80000 score if i score all A+. How do u get the 45k??

there is a option in one menu to review your mission stats. there you can simply add all overall scores and look if you have enough points....

haven't confirmed it but try this. reload mission 1, in the first pox fight damage it until you could a todome, but execute it. now switch to dual knives and spam combos with the most hits per combo. you should rack up a nice hit combo which boosts your score.

thats something wrote me a few weeks ago, but since i lend NB to a friend i can't confirm.

cra
06-18-2009, 05:48 AM
erm XBL tells you how big the file is. i assume something around 4-6GB. i personally like NG1 (black) more than NG2, however the extreme amounts of dismemberment, blood and gore are cool in NG2. The point why i like NG1 more is that you can beat every boss without getting hit if you are good enough. Some bosses in NG2 have some attacks which can dodge 10times and get hit most of time and sometimes not. Overall both are good games and both difficult for a newbie to this franchise in the beginning.

cra
06-18-2009, 12:52 PM
ok then i'm pretty sure you have to repeat mission 1, since even hitting the armor, the armor itself takes some damage.

no you can play them in any order and even skip the ones you are certain that you have used only one sword in any playthrough. for me it unlocked after beating mission 6 randomly again^^

Hi there, I'm new to these forums so I'm not quite sure how things work here but I've been a lurker and I've used these forums to help me with so many of my game issues. I have a solution for some regarding the emblems in Ninja Blade.

For those who are wondering about how to get the "Endless Flowers" emblem, it's quite simple: All you have to do is collect all of the health pieces (difficultly doesn't matter)

Same goes for the "Sword" emblem: Just collect all the Chi pieces and you should be fine.

Happy to be here and glad I could help.

cra

ah cool, good to know^^ will update it in the collectible guide

edit: erm, just updated it and found that i now have no clue why warrior's creed unlocks then. i supposed this unlocks after collecting every piece, well maybe you need all collectible emblems, outfits, pieces,SM .... well who knows

Yeah you and me are in the same boat. I never had a problem unlocking Warriors Creed (on all 3 separate save files). Maybe collecting both chi and health piceces could unlock it or maybe it's a possibility that just completing the game once could unlock it.

I do know for sure that collecting all the health pieces unlocks "Endless Flowers" emblem because that was the only emblem I needed, and once I found the last health piece I was missing and completed the mission, the emblem unlocked right away. I just assume for the "Sword" emblem, all chi pieces have to be collected because on my first save file, I got the "Sword and Endless Flowers emblem right after mission 9 and I had both sets of pieces collected.

This guide is extremely outdated, and often times just plain wrong.

Mission 4: Dual Knives - um, no? There is a ton of armor in this level, along with smashing crates, and the dual knives are completely useless.

It also doesn't specify if using Ninjutsu counts against you, especially when you want to use wind against the bats. It says you can use Ninjutsu, but am I to assume it means when putting out fires and such? Please clarify your meanings.

Some of the descriptions of the item locations are straight confusing too.

I understand cra is German, but it is clear he can understand English so try to be more specific.

well if i say you can USE ninjutsu why should there be any difference between fires and enemies? by no means can i be held responsible for what you assume...

if you want to do mission4 with one sword, dual knives is the easiest despite that you have to hit the crates 2-3times to break them. or show me a vid on youtube where you beat the hydra with the stonerender without much trouble. and you don't have to kill every single enemy, just the flies and stonerender is much too slow for that. if you want, change the swords and wait till you have lvl 5 dual knives which only need 2 hits to break a shield...

well maybe some item locations are unclear, but since there are a lot who managed to do with it, i don't plan on changing the description. BUT if you have so much trouble with it, provide me with a better guide and i will update it.

for beeing outdated: I played the game where not more than 4 people on this board played it, i added the notes what the patch did according some feedback others send me, but why should i waste another 50h+ to reconfirm everything i did already. writing this guide was a lot of work, since i did 95% alone...

guess it is easy to bash someones guide, but at least do something more constructive and write your own guide if you think this one is sooo bad.

btw if you want an example for a really terrible guide, look for the collectible guide for Tomb Raider: Underworld and try to get all collectibles after this guide^^ :)

Got this game a week ago and I'm almost done with it. Just a few more achievements to complete. There's one thing that should be added to the guide that will make the hardest achievement in the game (getting overall score A+) a piece of cake.

I saw it posted here by boygenius on another thread, but looks like no one noticed how good his tip was. I'll try to give a full explanation on how to use it for the achievement.

Load the first level of the game and play until you get to the Pox Giant, the very first boss you fight in this game. Now, what you wanna do is that:

Empty his life bar like you would normally, but instead of pressing A to do the finish move, stand right in front of his face, between his arms, equip the dual swords and start pressing XXXXXXX nonstop. Keep doing that, he will rise and you will kill him again before he can do anything. When he's about to fall down, equip Ninja Vision and change the combo to YYYYY. That way you will be doing a slower combo that won't be interrupted by the animation of him falling to the ground. When he falls, cancel Ninja Vision and go back to the old XXXXX combo.

Repeat that until you have a 999 hits combo. That alone is enough to rise your overall mission total from 30k to 50k, enough to get the A+ achievement :)

That alone will practically guarantee the achievement for anyone. I just finished the game once on normal, first playthrough, sucked big time on most of the levels and got the achievement without the need to replay a single mission (of course now I already had to replay them to get the achievements for hard, using only one sword and not using retry, but it's way easier than fighting for the A+ in all stats).

concerning the overall completion score look for the 400-999hit combo on the first pox giant in mission 1. it is posted somewhere in the thread and you are free to use the search function. :)

Two simple reasons:
1) I live in a craphole country called Brasil. It's in Latin America. Xbox Live will only arrive the next year (or so I hope).
2) Games are really cheap in the store I usually go, like 3 games only 20 bucks (Here's the catch: MW2 was at this price, day one, but so is terminator salvation now, months after it's release)

cra

yeah i know where brazil is located...we europeans have usually knowledge in geography^^

well, all I can say is to try it out. I don't even know if there are discs with patch included or if they sell the unpatched version and you can only patch it via xbox live.

guess you have to write an email to From Software or your national publisher and ask them.
