View Full Version : Newer Boosting Methods

As far as I can tell, no one has posted any of the newer boosting methods so I'll just make a topic for the newer, better boosting methods.

Double Method (aka "Shaft") - For the boosting whores with the resources to do it

15 Min. game
Team #1: 500+ Points (3500+ XP)
Team #2: 100 Points (under 1000 XP)
Expected Time Between Games: 1 min.+

Gametype: Armored Front
Players: 4-10 (one team must be willing to receive little points, the other half will get a lot)
Map: Just not Assembly, too cramped
Plan: team #2 captures the first 4, team #1 captures their first point, then team #2 capture breaks that point (brings it to neutral or all blue) then backs off, team #1 recaptures it, team #2 breaks it, and repeat until the end of the game.

Bottom Line: This is the best method period. The only problem is that half of the players must be willing to get almost no points. This is only practical if you have at least 2 360's, 2 gold accounts, and 2 copies of the game and find someone else with the same. If you do, you're set to make it to general with anywhere from 50-100+ hours of boosting depending on time between games and the number of players.

Switch Method (aka Double Switch) - For the casual boosters

15 min. game
Everyone (4-10 players): 300-400+ points (2000-3000+ XP)
Expected Time Between Games: 4 min.+

This is the exact same method as Double except at the halfway point (around 7:30) team #1 captures their first 4 points, everyone goes to team #2's first point and the same thing happens with the roles reversed allowing everyone to get about the same amount of points. This method can be even better than the Double method if you have up to 10 players who all cooperate well, can get into games quickly without other people joining, and can all stay on for a good amount of games. Needless to say, if you can't do the Double method, this is your best bet. The time between games shouldn't be underestimated and is much less for the Double method, especially when you need more than twice the people to even have a comparable Switch game.

Failsafe (aka the much asked about one) - I know how this is done but I still need to get some more info on it to be more sure of the numbers, as far as I know though it's not as good as the Armored Front methods.

~6 min. game (Need to confirm)
Everyone (Need to confirm): 1000 XP
Expected Time Between Games: 1-2 min.+

Gametype: Failsafe
Players: 4 (As far as I know having more players gives you no benefit and makes the game take longer and makes it harder to get everyone in the same room)
Map: Anything small
Plan: The team with the bomb plants it and kills the other team as fast as possible, repeat for every round.

Assuming I'm right in that everyone does get 1000 XP and even if the games took only 4-5 minutes you still have to worry about the extra time necessary in between games in order to get the same amount of XP from one Armored Front game so there's no longer any advantage to doing this method over the Armored Front ones.

If any of my numbers are off feel free to let me know, I probably won't have the time to mess around with the failsafe method for awhile.

Yeah the Armoured Front method seems to be the best, but when i tend to boost we switch @ about 7 mins n 45 secs so both teams get equal points so there is no hassel and evry1 is happy, plus it doesnt provide prblems when u hav fixed boosters having to get on the same team each game :)

A little exaggeration there buddy the switch method does not give u 400 points ever so u might want to change that. It gives u from 300 to 350

I've gotten 430 a few times using switch and 10 players. Usually it's 370-400 though. Switch is the only fair method.

exactly ive also gotten over 400 with 8 people, you just have to be efficient and not screw around.

With 4 you can get between 250 - 300 if everything goes perfectly doing the switch method. The problem with #1 is you can't switch teams so a person could get screwed by it.

Which is exactly why I'm only getting on to do the Double method on the weekend when I have access to what I need for it and can play with someone else who has the same.

Again, if anyone can do the Double with me on Sundays from 3-9PM (US Central Time) then send me a message, I'll need to do it for the next 2 Sundays to finish it off.

I want to boost this damn stupid general achievement, but i live in Denmark.
So i guess, it's best if i boost with EU people.

Not really. I live in Canada and I boosted regularly with people from Germany, England and Amsterdam. The only real problem was the language barrier since a couple of the German fellas couldn't speak any english. And I don't speak German. So we just gave each other a love tap (pistol shot to the leg) if one of us was out of sync.
