What setting does anyone use? I'm tired of hitting HR's all the time. Looking for more of a realistic type game.

Any suggestions?

Currently playing on All-Star difficulty.

These are the settings were are using for a league I'm in and we're getting some pretty realistic low scoring games

What is the strike to ball ratio for these sliders? I've been afraid to take a pitch playing on Pro because they hardly ever throw balls. Just played a game against the Rangers (who are ranked worst in pitching. Kevin Millwood was pitching) and just took every pitch and counted the balls and strikes. out of 94 pitches he threw 75 strikes. thats an 80% strike outing. I would really love to find a set of sliders to where the strikes are more in the 60% range because thats what some of the best pitchers in the league are throwing.

By adjusting the sliders, does this effect unlocking achievements or unlocking the cards?

Can you teach me how to play please?

In 2k8, I was crushing teams on the difficulty level between pro and legend. Now I've got 2k9, and can hardly manage a hit. Not to mention the computer is hitting nothing but doubles. And I'm still on the pro difficulty setting.

Last night, I played a game as the Cubs against the Astros. My first inning at bat went like this: ground out, outfield single, pop out, line out. I wouldn't mind that so much (given it's the first inning) if my pitcher was just as successful at getting out of the first inning. Here's how my opponent faired in my first inning pitching: ground out, strike out, double, double, double, double, strike out.

So yea, I got two strike outs (I never had a problem getting a decent number of strike outs), but the opponent hit four doubles in a row. Every single one of them was a line drive that carried all the way to the wall and either went straight down one of the lines or landed perfectly between two of my batters.

The score was 3-0. Even the 7th batter in their rotation hit a double. Is Houston the All-Star team now?

So, after my second inning went line out, line out, line out, all to the outfield, and then their pitched (their first batter of the 2nd inning) hit a double, I was pissed, turned the game off and took the disc out.

Are the Cubs outfielders so bad that they can't go get under the line drive hits? Surely Carlos Zambrano isn't so bad that I'm all the sudden going to give up 4 doubles in a row to the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th batters faced.

How the hell do you play this game?

I feel the same way.

And yes, adjusting the sliders from the Pro to anything that's Custom will turn off the franchise achievements and card-unlocking.

Some of the achievements can be had by playing under Custom difficulty, though.

the only thing is if you adjust the sliders you cant unlock any cards. As far as the other achievements not sure. Does anybody know if you can unlock the rest of the achievements with custom sliders??

I had a feeling by adjusting the sliders it would disable the unlocking of cards. Hmmm what a bummer.
