CovertDog
I think there should be a area in the forums where disagreements can be settled. I find in some threads arguements have been breaking out (ex. Errors in Achievments... thread past couple of days.) which lead it off topic and cluters up the thread. My first choice would be to not have this happen, but we are all human and things happen. So I'am purposing a place that this can be discussed and finalized. How I see this happening is if something is started, the adminstration moving all related posts to this area and the primary people involved told of the move. There the dispute can be discuss (hopful in a civil manner) and worked out. If after a certain amount of time, if no agreement is reach, a third party (adminstration) could help it along or end it. In no way do I think this should be an area for "flaming" and hopfully not needed often. Well thats my idea for the day. Now I must rest my head, that hurt:p . snafegeeza
I can see where your coming from but im pretty sure admin will not agree to this. It would to easily turn into a flame fest. Its not got my vote.
Crash
If people have disagreements, they should leave it to PMs. It's not something that everyone should see or have to put up with.
Wreckon Dracgon
Other than to be childish it really makes no sense to post it. Just take it to a PM session and flame all you want if you must. No one else wants to read that while looking for info on a specific topic that they thought they came to read/discuss. If I want to argue with Crash there is no reason for me to start flaming here just so you all know I'm arguing with Crash. BTW we're not arguing we are a cohesive team. vincesecuricor2
come on crash its quite interesting watching an argument third person for once!, not a bad idea but u may aswell call it the flame thread if u go ahead with it!
DaKing240
I agree with Crash and Dragon - leave it to PM
magictroll
People are too sensitive I find. I don't argue. I Mute and Ignore.
Legend
i could see that happening covert but it would be difficult for the admins to control members without drastic measures (i can vouch for that) so if it could be kept under control i think it would be a good idea, we already have a forum for everything else y not arguments? CovertDog
I wasn't thinking of setting up a sideshow as some of you seem to think. I personally don't care if it was a thread you need a password for, but I seem to be the only one that is annoyed with having to scroll through a page and a half of BS to find anything. And as for flaming, I think it would be better if it happened in a certain area then in the general forum. Anyways, it's just an idea.
Legend
sideshow? password? i dont know what ur talking about. i was talking about a forum for the disaggrements or watever in my post covert
Minty
Yeah, not going to happen basically. If people have an arguement, do it on MSN, AIM, PMs or whatever. We dont need to encourage it. If the mods or the admin feel that it is out of hand, it will be locked down and the people responsible can/will be dealt with
CovertDog
Aperantly my whole point of this was missed.
Minty
It wasnt missed - just not something that we want to have. Disagreements between two people should be sprted out in private. They shouldnt be on the forum, even in a locked thread.
CovertDog
It's cool. If no one wants it that's fine. It wouldn't be the first time I had a bad idea (there was the 80's thing:p ). I just don't want people thinking I was advocating fighting or encouraging it. I don't even want to see/read it. I just thought it would clean up the threads and keep them on the subject. Just trying to help.
D1SC0NNECTED
I understand what you're talking about Covert, and I feel your pain. I too hate scrolling through 3 pages of arguments and quotations just because some nimrod thinks hes smarter/better than someone else. But I have to say I agree with Minty & co's response. Having a forum dedicated to it would make it appear that we encourage it, even if its nothing of the sort. Wise man once say, "Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.'"
