xMac73
So, I played through my first season last night and it took me roughly 3 HOURS to finish. This is what I did: fast travel until the season starts, drop pots, fast travel, drop pots, fast travel, drop pots, then go back and pick up the pots at the three locations using fast travel between each group. Then fast travel to port when the season ends. Is that right? Am I missing something to make it faster? I know we only have 5 seasons to play through, which is fine, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right and not wasting my time. EDIT #1: Well, my second season took about 3 hours, too, so I'm guessing the 3 hours/season is about right. I also got the 'drop 50 pots' achievement and brought in over $500K for the season's catch. Everyone has 100% high morale except one old guy --- same thing with my first season, grrr. tadpeters
Did you ever figure out this was how you work the game? I've only got a few career ones left and never really figured out how to play this correctly.

vithzeral
You can finish seasons much quicker; for King crab don't bother with bait, pots or extra fuel just stay in port and quick time through the whole season (you can't come in early if you want the Mr. Popular achievement, you have to keep running time through the last 24 hrs of the season). Then dock the boat at the end of the season. Skip over opilio season as usual by coming in early (as soon as the season opens). Took me 15 mins max for each of seasons 3 and 4, and then season 5 only 1 min since I didn't have to bother with crew I just came in early on the King crab season. Don't worry if your crew quits because you aren't fishing/ dont feed them. Just ignore their complaints, you still get Mr. Popular (as some other posters have noted it sometimes doesnt seem to pop until the next season; just go hire and release someone at random and that does it.) Of course to get the other achievements you will need at least 2 King crab seasons where you actually play properly (mainly for the money to do all the upgrades), but this way you can get 925 in 8 hours easily (I would say all 1000 in 8hrs but the online achievement is almost impossible due to availability of enough people.) That is pretty insane if you can tolerate this crap for 8 hours straight, I fall asleep on my couch after a couple.
