View Full Version : Painting your 360

So, I got an inspiration about painting my Xbox 360. I'm a newbie with painting and stuff, so I need some help :P
- What kind of paint do I use? (I googled it and found several different tutorials and all tutorials advised to use different paint :/)
- Can I just remove faceplate and the other part(s) from my 360 and paint them from both sides, or only on the outside?
Also if someone has painted their 360, could you take a picture for me, thank you :)

My brother spray painted his first 360 red, and it came out really nice. It was a really nice even coat too, not globby like if you hand paint it. Spray paint would be an option in my opinion, I'm thinking about spray painting my orange soon.

I wouldn't paint my 360, it could ruin it or something, be careful.

if you purchase an extra shell, they'd have a hard time knowing, assuming u kept your warranty sticker okay.

Plastic spray paint is they way to go, Start by removing both sides and faceplate, You can a kit for doing this of ebay for pennies.
Then you want to use wet/dry sandpaper on the case and cover all nessecary holes and what not then start painting by primering first with White or grey spray (Cheap primer will do, White for light colours grey for darker colours) give 2 coats then leave over night to dry then apply your paint give it around 2 coats and then get a fine laquer or clear coat to give it a shiny finish :p
Not as hard as it looks or sounds, Just remember to hang the case while painting and dont go to close else you will get runs in the paint. Hope this helps - Look at some Tuts and Vids on the net for more Details.

Microsoft would class spray painting your 360 as tampering so i wouldn't do it just in case you need to get it fixed coz microsoft wont accept it.
