Alright, so a while back I posted a thread asking for a broken wired headset. Responses were great and fellow x360a member Erton was kind enough to send me one.

Why did I need a broken headset you ask? Well as soon as I put on my wireless headset for the first time I found a major flaw in it's design. Since I have my ears gauged, the earpiece was a huge hassle. I had to take my gauge out, put the headset on, then put my gauge back in (or leave it off until I'm done gaming). WAYYYY too much work just to have audio.

So the idea was to merge the wired headset and the wireless together to form a kickass headset that was gauge friendly.

After finally receiving the headset (it went to my old house, then they never sent it so I ended up waiting over a month for it) I began working.

The first step was to take apart both headsets. I was a bit rough with the broken headset since well, it was already broken.

Once both headsets were apart it was time to combine them into one. I decided the best route would be to place the wireless headset in the same position as the speaker and microphone had been on the wired. So to acomplish this I had to pull out the ol' dremel and hobby knife and remove some extra plastic. I used the circle groove as a template and started cutting.

I know it's not the best looking, but who cares, the wireless part's going to cover it up. So that's what happened next, I lined up the wireless and tacked it on with some hot glue.

Once that was on I put the padding back on and bam, had myself a kickass new headset.

(yes I know the engraving is upside down )

Tested and works great.

for me it would defeat the entire purpose.
That foam stuff makes my ear feel extremely hot and it gets very irritating. I want to get the wireless headset, but I don't want to bother other people.
that's cool though. I'm sure it's a lot better than the headset by itself. good stuff..
