View Full Version : World Tour stuck at 146

Hi can anyone help me, I was ranked 148 in world tour but after playing a mini game I moved up to Rank 146. But now I'm completely stuck at this ranking!. No matter how many singles/doubles tournaments I win it just simple doesn't matter. I even rested for a complete season in the hope i would rank down, sadly with no joy.

Is there anyway to fix this? As i really cant be doing with starting from scratch and suffering the pain of going through all the amateur ranks again.

Exactly the same has happened to me then i try to play a tournament and come up against someone with no name from Algeria and the game crashes. I know several other people have this problem which has ruined my World Tour game, hopefully there will soon be a patch to fix this else i can't really se myself going back and playing through amateur again.
Let me guess your game crashes in a tournament when you play someone without a name and this flag:

Hi there,

Thanks for your mail.

There is an update due for the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Tennis 09 that should hopefully address this and a number of other issues. We hope that the update will be live either tonight or early tomorrow and it will update automatically when you are online.

I hope this information is of use to you.

Seems to suggest that the update we had yesterday may not be the patch.

Omg, they think just because they can update whenever they want that it's ok to have glitches in a game, it seems a lot of people have suffered from this jam so how did the game testers not find this out? Thank you morons at Sega!

When does it end, this is absurd. Is there a way to avoid this happening the 2nd time around because I really don't want to start over, go through amateurs again, spend another 6 hours and have the exact same problem.

Just got injured on purpose, was out for 8 weeks but it didn't change my ranking. So to clarify you can win, lose, rest or get injured and you are still stuck at 146? Great job Sega...

I created a new player last night since my first one is stuck at pro 146 and thus pretty much useless. My new player is up to amateur rank 74 right now. What do you think will happen first? They release a patch or my new player ends up at #1 pro ranking?

I'm playing this alot today to try to at least go pro by the end of the day.

I'm not sure but i think this might have been patched, to an extent as i can now play in tournaments without the game crashing however after winning two tournaments i still have ranked up from #146.

The update won't unstick you, it will just make it so this doesn't happen again to your next player. If you are stuck now then you will have to restart a career to rank up past 146. I got #1 pro with my 2nd player after getting stuck with my 1rst. I saved my career to memory card as a backup when I turned pro and when I got around rank 100, another not as well known glitch.

You seem to get stuck when you rest so to avoid this just don't rest. If you keep drinking energy drinks then you never need to rest in this game and unlike VT3 you don't get injured from it, injuries only occur from low stamina, which you avoid with the energy drinks.

Just go for it but 1 thing i have noticed is people who actually rest & not drink expierince this more so don't actually rest just drink & also i am in a second career halfway through the pros & never rest just drink & i've never expierienced any achievement problems apart from coronation which is fucked for every one, also on waiting for a fix that could be at least a month or even more away so if your enjoying this game i would'nt advise that, anyways best of luck on what ever you dicide.

Heres thought, now i know you said you will do mini games to better your player but why don't you play with auto save off then if you get stuck at 146 you can just reset your game & wait for the patch, just a thought.

New patch now released for Europe, incoming for US PS3 / 360!
Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I got to bring you guys some good news, but today I'm here to update you all on the new VT09 patch that has just released for Europe, and the US counterpart which will be releasing very soon. The patch fixes a number of issues, many of which were reported by all of you guys here on the boards and through help.sega.com (http://help.sega.com/) - so thank you, first and foremost, to the many Virtua Tennis fans out there who helped improve the game by sending in those reports!

While I'm not cleared to release all the specifics just yet, there were a couple I did want to mention - most notably the improvements to online lag, the more recent reports about the 146 error, and the bundle of smaller updates that will fix and polish a number of game facets.

First, some of you may have already noticed that European players are reporting (http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=299226&page=2) that 146 is no longer an issue, and they are able to move up the ranks normally again. (Thank you to the players who confirmed this!)

In addition, there have been improvements made to reduce the amount of online lag players experience during worldwide matches. I know that some of you have never had issues here, but it should help a bit for those players who were having trouble with lag or slow network speeds.

Lastly, besides the confirmed trophy fix reports (http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=299226), there's a slew of minor updates and improvements going out that will polish up a number of aspects of the game. Most of them are small (for example, fixing the color of the rounded glasses in the shop), but they are all still improvements, and I think all of us as fans agree - the more improvements, the better. http://forums.sega.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

US Players will be seeing this patch soon on PS3 and Xbox 360, and I'll post here to update you guys as soon as it goes out. If you're European, please check out the new patch and let us know here or at help.sega.com (http://help.sega.com/) if you run into any issues. I know there may be some existing issues which are still open, and if so please direct an additional ticket towards SEGA Support (http://help.sega.com/), so they have it documented. If you've already got a ticket open, you can just reply to the old one and it will bump up automatically.

This patch has been a long time coming, so thanks again for everyone's patience as our dev team and production teams worked to fix the issues, test the fixes, get approvals on the patches, and finally take it live.

I'll also still be around, so feel free to hit me up with a PM anytime.

Thanks all - more news on the US release coming soon!
