The post-consumermas deals just keep pouring in. Joystiq readers in Los Angeles might want to check out GAME PLAY stores for a promised $99.00 Xbox 360 HD-DVD add on that was advertised in this flyer (page one (http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/12/99img005kz8.jpg), page two (http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/12/99img004bj0.jpg)). Readers who aren't in LA might be able to print a copy of the flyer and ask their local retailer to price-match. At just $99, the HD-DVD player is a steal. Chances are, this is a typo, so price-matching might be the only way to score this one. That's why we provided you with the two humongous images. Let us know if you get lucky!

I got the ad and called up the store and was told that it was a typo but they will honor the price if you bring in the ad.

EDIT - Just called another store and they said that it wasn't a typo and will be sold at that price but they're out of stock anyways.

Im going to take the add into my local Wal-Mart (which I know has a couple of HD-DVD players in stock) tomorrow morning and see if they will do a price match, because I had success with them when Best Buy had the typo for the 1 year live kits awhile back. Others might want to try this themselves just be sure to have a number for Wal-Mart to call so they can confirm the sale price with the store.

The prices should be dropping around march anyway.
