I'm not saying they aren't worth anything and whatnot...but does anyone see the point of NOT playing games like Avatar and TMNT and stuff? I mean...hell, I played King Kong, Fight Night and Oblivion...but I won't play Avatar...

I'm DEFINITELY an achievement whore but some reason I can't bring myself to do it...

Just wondering if I'm alone.

But hey, an achievement is an achievement...

All I have to say is don't limit yourself. Don't stop yourself from playing super easy games, but don't stop yourself from playing super hard games either; find the balance. ;)

Then play some Oblivion. xD

And yes, I know you have; just making a quip. xP

I've slept with some real Coyote Uglies in my time. Playing Avatar is cake. My point? Just as a hole's a hole, a game's a game. :)

Makes me feel dirty. If I did it, I would be embarrassed to put it in my sig as a completed game haha. And I'm 940/1000 in CoD4...GRRRR!!!!

Well seeing as Dash of Destruction only takes 17 more minutes than Avatar to get 100% completion...just sayin'. ;)

Sadder part? I did it in 2 days or so (DoD, not Avatar)! :D Laziness FTW!

but yet you have other easy 1k's in your list, Bourne, King Kong, Fallout 3 PC (I'm guessing the console command was used), FNR3.......... :D

points are points, aslong as you don't BUY avatar, or didnt buy it for the original or full MSRP.

Hey, I LOVED Bourne. And I had King Kong for DS and was pissed at its quality so I rented it for 360. Fallout 3 was legit for PC...and Fight Night was actually fun. I made the best dude evar.

I just can't play a game with achievements as the primary reason. I love the achievement system and I go for achievements in all the games I do play, but I can't just go "I know I can get 1000 points on this, so I'm gonna play it." I thought about renting Avatar or one of those old sports games, but it just felt like a waste. Only game I ever even fully completed was Fight Night 3, and I only had it because I thought the game was good. The achievements being easy was just a bonus.

Cannot bring myself to play easy games like that. I just play games that i wanna play. Playing games that are too hard or too easy are games that i'm going to stay away from.

I never rent games for my 360 I just buy them dirt cheap and proud of my completes. Even though it took me 2 months to beat DoD (take that CyanideBreathMint). But I didn't have a 2nd controller, anyway, just get games that you want to play but if you want to be a whore about it then get the freaking achievements and take it back to whatever store you bought it from and say it doesn't work.

why not just play the game to play the game if its easy or hard oh well

i'm guilty of renting avatar, put it in for 5 min, got the 1000 GS and then returned it saying the disc didnt work in my xbox for a different game.

But you don't feel dirty about how you unlocked the majority of your Fallout 3 PC achievements?

Uhhh, no, you're not a hypocrite at all. [/sarcasm]

Avatar is my proudest 1000 :p Na seriously why not doing it when you have the occasion? It's not cheating or something. At least i diden't broke my controler against the wall to get those 1000 !! Na really i have my 360 like for 10 months or something and i destroyed 2 controlers just because of some achievements.

I've resisted Avatar, but as I read this thread it feels hypocritical to judge. My bro got me into achievements by starting a rivalry, so we both resorted to the 2006 sports games for which those 1000s are nothing to brag about.

I guess I use Avatar as a cut-off 'cause it's a kids game (I'm 35). I've got Kung Fu Panda on my list (200 or so GS), but it came with my console.

I played King Kong, but it's a story-based game, not even a bad one, which is right up my alley. A poorly designed Achivement List isn't my fault.

From this point on, I'm comfortably kicking my bro's ass and feel no need to go after cheezy points. I won't judge though...I mean, who really scrutinizes which games people play? I'm sure most of the 50k-100k GS players have a lot of children's games in there buffing up their total.

As far as I'm concerned, unless you have My Horse and Me 2, Hannah Montana, or Avatar, you're not a whore.

i only 1000ed avatar because a friend had a copy and let me borrow it for 5 minutes it's the only one i'm ashamed of

Dash of Destruction was fun enough for 15 minutes

and i haven't got 100% on anything else... closest i am on anything is x-men origins wolverine which is at 560 right now

:whs

If the game's good, if I'm interested in playing it and the achievements are easy to get, then great! But I'm not going to hunt down easy games just for the sake of getting more points. I want a little more than that out of my gaming experience.

If it's any consolation, I refuse to play Shrek the Third. I can't stand that ugly mug.

I got my 1000 for Avatar and it made me feel dirty, but I also have 1000 for Orange Box so whatever. And really, what's worse - grabbing an easy 1000 or grinding/boosting for 20 hours for those last 20 pts to get 100%? They're both pretty silly.

I'll never put Avatar on my GT.

I pride myself on completing tough games. Whilst I will play the occassional easy game, such as Fight Night, I refuse to play any of the easy kid games.

I'm not a GS whore.

Play a game like Left 4 Dead or Marvel Ultimate Alliance that's fun & has easy achievements, but the hard achievements are really hard. MUA doesn't have any MUA really hard achievements but it'll take you a while to play it.

I can't rent games so that's why I don't have stuff like Avatar or King Kong on my GT. Though I REFUSE to play Hannah Montanna.
