I'm sure the search button isn't working, just like for everyone else............. but even then this was posted on the main page.

It was for MS and Xboxto make changes and tweaks for all the stuff that was announced at E3, and as you can tell xbox.com is completely different.

Well they took the Zune network down at the same time for maintenance so everyone is assuming that the maintenance had something to do with prepping the two networks for their upcoming intergration.

It seems like some stuff is missing from Live Arcade since the downtime... I wonder what happened.

It was to prepare for changes that will be happening down the road. From Major Nelson: "This service maintenance is to prepare for some of the recently announced features (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/events/e3/marcwhitten.htm) that will be available later this year."

I believe you're right, it sounds like they're working on it.

I just got back from Iraq, and catching up on some email when I see that we’re seeing an issue affecting a small amount of content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace (http://marketplace.xbox.com/) since the service came back online. In other words, you may have problems accessing some of the content. I want to let you know that the LIVE engineers are actively engaged and working on getting this resolved as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience.

There is a known issue with some content disappearing from the marketplace. That includes Live Arcade games vanishing as well as DLC and videos.
