Achievement and Tactical Guide

In the Beginning…
All of the achievements are obtained by going through the games story mode.

Below I have provided a guide to defeating each of the games major battles with ease.

One thing to note is that as you play the game you’ll find many other Golems that you could use throughout the game. It is up to you if you want to switch from the ones I list below. Just note that the Golems below are the best IMO for that situation and ease of defeating the game.

For the most part the games first three achievements are just given to you. You won’t need any real strategy or special golems to complete. Try and save whenever you see a shop and healing terminal. This usually indicates an upcoming boss battle.

The Casino – Chips, Golems, Items and SP

Chips
Once you get to London City for the first time you’ll want to go to the Casino. Once there you will want to exchange all of your TB for chips. At this point exit the Casino and save. Re-enter the casino and place a bet on black or red with all chips available. You have a 50% chance of winning, so hopefully you’ll get lucky. If you don’t win exit the casino and reload the save. If you do win, save the game and continue. Continue doing this until you have 12,000 in chips. Once you have 12,000 in chips place a 1,000 chip bet on every number between 1-12. You have a 33% chance of winning and if you win you’ll gain 24,000 in chips. You need to do this until you have over 60,000 in chips. Once you have 60,000 in chips you need to place a bet on every single space between 1-15. Also be sure to place a bet on the two spaces between 0 and 2 and place a bet on 0 as well. You now have a 40% chance of winning, and if you win you’ll reward is between 114,000 and 168,000 in chips. Even if it lands on Zero you’ll win 60,000 chips making it a null.

Golems & Items
The items at the Casino change throughout the course of the game. For the purposes of streamlining we’ll cut it into three parts. The first time you arrive in London City, after the Emperor of Fire, and after the Lord of Earth. So when you first arrive you’ll want to pick up Marlin, & APO from the Casino. You can also pick up any other Skills or Golems that you’d like but they are not needed. After the Emperor of Fire you’ll want to pick up Floresia, Ruby Butterfly and Yuki’s Sniper Shot Skill, the God’s Ambrosia is also available as a prize to exchange in the casino at this point. After the Lord of Earth you’ll want to pick up the Evade Encounter (avoid all those random battles), Wide Range (move your character anywhere on the board), and all Direct +20%, Ranged +20%, Support +20%, etc…

SP – The Easy – Time Consuming Way
After completing the Roulette Wheel and having a good amount of chips what you need to do is purchase nine Return Powders from the Casino Prize Exchange for 50 chips each. Then sell all nine at the shop for 5400 TB. You then purchase Skill Gems for 1,200 TB each and increase your characters SP. Each gem will give you 1,200 points of SP. After you defeat the Lord of Earth there will be a Mega Skill Gem at the shop for 4,200 TB which gives you 8,000 points of SP. Plus the God’s Ambrosia is available to sell making it a lot easier to build up your TB totals. So wait to do your major leveling until after this point.

Almost Time to Play the Game
When you first arrive in London City go to the Casino and do the trick to get your total TB to 1,000,000. This will take 90,000 in chips to accomplish, and it will take about an hour and a half but is well worth it. Be sure to have lots of chips left as you don’t want to start over from the beginning of the trick. After my total got to 1,000,000 in chips I’ve never let it go below this level again. You DO NOT want to start over at betting on Red and Black.

After you have the required TB and have purchased Marlin and APO from the Casino, go and purchase Sasquatch from the Shop. So your starting line up will be…

Atsuma
Marlin
APO
& Sasquatch

Upgrading
This is a crucial point that I can’t stress enough, I get countless messages from people having wasted time and TB building up the wrong parameters. When you start to upgrade a character go into the Check Skill screen and check what type of attacks they have… Direct, Ranged, or Support/Cover. Whichever type of attack it is determines which parameter you increase. Also be sure to equip new skills and weapons when they become available. For the team above you should increase their parameters as follows:

Atsuma
1,000 HP
600 EP
Direct to at least 500
Ranged to at least 500 (the only move he has that is ranged is his EX attack)

Marlin
1000 HP
600 EP
Direct to 700

APO
1000 HP
600 EP
Support to 500

Sasquatch
1000 HP
600 EP
Direct to 500

With the set up above you’ll be unstoppable until you reach the Lord of Earth. Throughout your travels from London City back to Yokohama City Ruins, back to London City, onto Junk City, and throughout your travels in Kyoto this setup is all you need. Your attack pattern should be the same for each match. First use Sasquatch to power up APO. Then use APO’s HP drain to kill everyone. Powered up by Sasquatch this move will do 300 points of damage and you won’t fight anyone other than bosses that have more than 500 until you reach Kyoto. So all of your matches should end in one or two turns. Without giving anything away at some point in your travels one of your teammates will get into trouble and you will have to rescue her. After you have rescued her you will want to power up Raigar. There will be an upcoming battle that he must face alone. If you have not used him it will be nearly impossible to win this battle. So be sure to get his health up to at least 700HP, his direct up to at least 500 and give him some EP.

Although the setup above will allow you to breeze through to the Lord of Earth you will want to start to prepare for those tougher battles later on. To do this you will need the Temple Golems. Defeating these Golems is also the key to opening the Holy Beast Shrine where all the great Golems lay resting. The Temple Golems are…

Phoenicia - located in the Londinus Plains North Forest in the Fire Temple

Divine Turtle - located in the Abandon Mines in the Water Temple

White Tiger – located in the Earth Temple which is inside the Vorbios Volcano

Aero Dragon - located in the Yamashiro Marsh Forest inside Wind Temple

The random battles that you face inside the temples are by far tougher than the Golems themselves. So make sure you have your characters direct/ranged and health up. Also have a complete stock of all items. You may need some VP by the time you reach the Temple Golems.

Phoenicia
She is pretty easy to obtain and should be the first one you acquire. Do not waste your time using your EX moves or any fire based attacks, they will not work on her. Luckily her major attack will not work on you either. There are two strategies you can use for this battle. You can get Yuki and use the Sniper Shot which will take off about 6,667 off her 9,900 in HP. Then use Atsuma, Ruby Butterfly and Marlin to attack and defeat her easily. If Yuki is not in a position to use her Sniper Shot this leads to strategy number two. The Phoenicia hates water based foes so position Yuki and Marlin on the back row and attack her if you can but it’s not important. Then position Atsuma and Ruby Butterfly on the same rows but on the first spaces. Use Ruby to power up herself and Atsuma and attack if you can but it is not necessary. Be sure to have Atsuma on the first space, and Marlin on the last space of the same column. The Phoenicia will come to you. She will use her Flare Force to destroy Marlin at which point you punish her with Atsuma, and then move Ruby behind him and attack with her Anger Blow. Then have Yuki use a Return Powder to Bring Marlin back to life. She will then obliterate Marlin again. Just continue this pattern, and eventually she will die… if she happens to move back blast her with the Sniper Shot and end the match. Once defeated you'll receive the Phoenicia Core, and the Fire Orb.

Divine Turtle
Once you have the Phoenix the battle with the Turtle is a piece of cake. Just be sure to give the Phoenix and Atsuma at least 1400 in HP. The Turtle only has one attack that will deal 1398 in damage to Atsuma and the Phoenix. When the match starts use Yuki’s Sniper Shot, then the Phoenix’s Flare Force and Atsuma’s, Flare Rush or EX attack, and Ruby’s Flare Shoot. This should kill the Turtle in one turn. You will receive the Divine Turtle Core and Water Orb

Aero Dragon
Again you will need to use Yuki’s Sniper Shot, followed by attacks by Atsuma, Phoenicia and the Turtle. This match should end in a turn or two. You will receive the Dragon Core and Wind Orb

White Tiger
Same as the Aero Dragon. You will receive the Tiger Core and Earth Orb

Once you have the Aero Dragon you will want to use all of your remaining TB to power him up as much as you can. Your set up for the reminder of the game should be as follows.

Atsuma
Divine Turtle
Phoenicia/Aero Dragon (you’ll change these two out depending on the battle situations)
& Floresia

Each should have at least 1,500 in health and 700 in EP and their major attack type should be at least at 500 (for Floresia that means her Support should be at 500 you will never attack with her).

Again you could skip all of the above and just breeze through to the Lord of Earth Battle with the original four characters.

Defeating the Emperor of Fire
Defeating the Emperor of Fire is a breeze. Even though the mystery man says that you can’t attack you can. Just don’t attack more than three times. Use Sasquatch to Power up everyone then attack with Atsuma, APO, and Marlin. Then heal each of them the next turn. Now with the water based Marlin, and Sasquatch powered up and healed attack again. If you’ve been using this group the entire time this should be a combo and the Emperor will go down.

Battling the Lord of Earth
The Lord of Earth is actually the toughest battle in the game. He has more HP than anyone else. Even though it’s displayed as only 1,100 because of his defense powers it translates to over 20,000 in HP. If you’re using the original four characters you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of health items and return powders.

Start the Battle with Sasquatch powering up his teammates, attacking with APO, Marlin, and Atsuma. Be sure to keep Atsuma behind APO at all times. Being Earth based APO only takes half damage from the Lord of Earth and being behind him will limit Atsuma’s damage as well. One of the key things you want to remember is that every three turns you are going to get hit with his World Creation EX move which means 900 HP in damage (450 HP to APO). So what you want to do is attack with your characters and try to end in a position where APO is in front of Atsuma. If this means you don't attack with Atsuma on a particular turn then you don't attack. Do not sacrifice 300-450 HPs of Atsuma's health for 50 HPs on the Lord of Earth.

Whenever he creates the Woodian Golems take them out immediately. APO’s HP Drain once powered up by Sasquatch will kill them easily. If they aren’t dead use Sasquatch to wipe out their remaining health.

Stick to this pattern of attacking and then hiding behind APO. Also keep an eye on your HP and remember that on every third turn you’re going to get hit with World Creation so use healing items to make sure you have enough HP to survive the attack. If your characters are in a good position to attack but have less than the 900 in HP, see if following their death a person would be in a good position to use the Return Powder to return them to battle.

If you are using the new set up of

Atsuma
Divine Turtle
Phoenicia/Aero Dragon
& Floresia

You’ll want to use the Dragon for this battle. He does double damage because he is wind based. First power up the Dragon and Atsuma with Floresia and then attack with them. Use the Turtle’s 50% Protection powers but only on Atsuma and the Dragon. Make sure you do not use the protection power on Floresia or it will negate her power up.

On your next turn heal with Floresia she will be giving you back 600-1000 in HP and the Lord of Earth will only be doing 500 HP in damage at most to Atsuma, and the Turtle and 1,000 damage to the Dragon and Floresia, but with Floresia healing it’s like he isn’t attacking at all.

Back to the Casino
After defeating the Lord of Earth you will want to return to the Casino. How much time you spend here is up to you. The great thing is there is now a Mega Skill Gem at the shop (and the God’s Ambrosia is available in the Casino as a prize to exchange. It costs 5,400 in chips for nine of them and they sell for 21,600 TB). Just in case you want to know how long it takes and what the limits are… The casino maxes out at 9,999,999 chips and your TB maxes out at 9,999,999. It takes 1,600,000 in chips to get 9,999,999 TB and it will take you about 6 ½ hours to get 1,600,000 chips, exchange it for 9,999,999 in TB and use that TB to purchase and use the SP. 9,999,999 in TB translates to a total of 20,000 in HP or EP. Before continuing make sure to have the Wide Range and Evade Encounter equipped and try and get your team to the following levels.

Atsuma
5,000 in HP
EP at 1,000
Direct & Ranged Maxed at 999

Phoenicia
5,000 in HP
EP at 1,000
Ranged Maxed at 999

Aero Dragon
2,000 in HP
EP at 1,000
Ranged Maxed at 999

Divine Turtle
3,000 in HP
500 at EP (his move drains EP so he doesn’t need any)
Ranged Maxed at 999

Floresia
2,000 in HP
EP at 1,500
Support at 999

The Queen of Ice
The battle tactics you used to defeat the Lord of Earth are the tactics you’ll need for defeating the remaining battles. Most fights you’ll just power up the Turtle and use his EP drain to wipe out the entire board. However when you get to the Queen you’ll want to get Atsuma and Phoenicia powered up, attack and then protect them with the Turtle. This battle won’t last long at all. Try and make sure you have your EX bar maxed before going into this battle. This can easily be done by removing the Evade Encounter Skill and having a few battles. When you first battle Toya he will ask you are you ready to kill him. You must say NO in order to get the 150 point Happy Ending Achievement and to defeat the Ice Queen. If you say "Yes" you want to kill him after defeating him your game will end. So select no and continue on…

Using the above set up of Golems will also make it a cake walk when facing the final boss. Just attack the orbs that appear before facing him and make sure to have a full stock of health items before entering the battle.

Good Luck and Happy Golem Hunting.

Side Quests – Spoiler Alert

Besides the Temple Golems there are two side quests that you can complete for powerful Golems and Weapons. These are the Pillars Guardians and the Holy Beast Shrine.

Pillar Guardians
You will see the first Pillar Guardian when you are on your way back to Yokohama City on the Raigu Coast Fork, you’ll find Black Dragon, in the Zuala Desert Ruins you’ll find Anubis, and Gold Squat is at the Sage’s Tower. Defeating these Golems will give you the God Orbs used to make the Iris Weapons for Karin, Raigar, and Yuki. To match the Iris Knuckle you received for Atsuma from the Sage.

For each of these battles use the very familiar to you by now Sniper Shot by Yuki. Then attack with the rest of your party. Most matches will end in one turn. Once defeated you’ll get their core and a God Orb. Return the Orbs to the Sage and she will make a weapon for one of your teammates.

Holy Beast Shrine
The Holy Beast Shrine is located outside of Junk City. On the right side of Junk City off to the left of the door that leads to the Zuala Desert. There is a door that leads out to the Rock Pinnacles. At the end of this trail is the Holy Beast Shrine. You will need all four of the orbs from the Temple Golems to open the Shrine. The Shrine is a 13 level maze where you’ll face an onslaught of powerful enemies. This is a great place to level up your Characters and Golems, so you may want to remove that Evade Encounter. Every 3rd level you’ll be able to return to the lobby and refresh your health. Along with the ability to return to the lobby on every 3rd level you’ll also encounter a boss that you must defeat before moving ahead. Again use Yuki and the Sniper Shot and the battles are over before they began. After defeating the Boss you will receive a Moon Light Weapon for one of your characters. These are the best weapons in the game as far as stat boosts go. However your stats will already be maxed so this will only increase your HP and EP. On the 13th level is Omega, Omega has 99,999 in HP, which is quickly chopped down after a few Sniper Shots from Yuki. Just be sure to have plenty of healing items and you’ll be fine. Once defeated you’ll have the Omega Core and would have completed the Holy Beast Shrine.

Additional Tips

Agility – Your agility determines how often you are caught off guard. There is a formula that calculates each character’s level and their agility this determines who goes first in battles. This is also true for online battles.

Overbreak/Overbreak Upper – This occurs when you deal damage of over half/or double the amount of HP that Golem had at the start of the match. An Overbreak Upper will cause the character to disappear from the playing field making it not possible to return them to battle.

Yuki’s Sniper Shot – Although it says it kills a single enemy, it does not. Depending on the character she’s attacking it takes off between 33-66% of their total health. Thusly this move should always be used at the start of battles. The more health they have when she attacks, the more they lose. This move does not work against any of the Devil Golems.

Nice guide

just one thing. I think you need to get more than 1 mil TB when arriving at london city the first time.
to get all 4 Party members , Atsuma , Marlin , APO and Sasquatch
to 1000 hp 600 ep and 500 in direct for Atsuma Marlin and Sasquatch and 500 in support for APO
you might want get 2 mil TB at once or get 1 mil TB and uppgrade parameters as
much as you can and get back after the emperor of fire battle.

Maximum SP for each Party member is 99999 at once , you must buy 9 SP gems (1200) 7-8 times to get maximum SP for 1 Party member

Increasing for an example Atsumas Healt by +15 points increases the required SP each time you uppgrade. starts at 30 and goes up FAST. To get 1000 hp 500 direct 500 ranged and 600 EP takes at least 300000 - 500000 TB for Each Party member.

But that is if you want to get the Suggested stats at once.

You can always split it up and do half the suggested stats the first time and after the emperor of fire do the rest.

The first visit at london city:

Around 500 hp for Atsuma APO and Sasquatch. (Marlin is easy to get to 1000 hp so that is done the first time you are in London city).

Around 300 EP For Atsuma Marlin APO and Sasquatch.

Around 250 Direct For Atsuma Marlin(also easy to get 500 first time at london city) and Sasquatch

Around 250 Ranged for Atsuma

Around 250 Support for APO

Also when you pass a shop give 9 Sp Gems (1200) to each Team Member That way you can uppgrade continusly

Thats all for me. I hope i dont confuse you guys whit my bad english xD

I'm only seeing a 36,000 chip win from this method, or perhaps I'm placing my chips wrong?

I put 1,000 on numbers 1 through 15.
I put 1,000 on 0.
I put 1,000 on the corner connecting 0, 1, 2.
I put 1,000 on the corner connecting 0, 2, 3.
Those are the only 2 spaces I can think of that are, "between 0 and 2"

Where does the 114,000 chip win come from?

Don't forget all of the spaces between ALL of the numbers you are betting on, and the line at the very top.

Thanks.

I kinda realized that a little while after I posted my above comment :/

Is all this buffing up of your character really necessary? I'm sure it'll make the game much easier... but is this all really needed?

I'm taking Pavalon's advice and only pumping up to the stats he mentions. Seems it should be good enough.

Also, I assume APO must get really good, really quick. He starts on level 1 but everyone recommends him, so he must.

yeah best guide ever...finally finished the game although i thought of loosing the final stage battle with infinity. I usually kept the same party, the four characters and using phoenicia and divine turtle and sometimes the dragon. I recommend upgrading atsuma to 7000HP and 1000+ EP, phoenicia on 5000HP and close on 1000EP. turtle was close to 4000HP and yuki over 3000HP...that was the formation for the final battles...keep items full....you need them. My only dissapointment is that yuki's sniper shot made no impact...but her potshots did ;)

killlah631

Yeah I think the best party for the final battles is Atsuma, Divine Turtle, Phoenicia, and Dragon. I ripped through them all once I raised Atsuma's HP to 5000+, at first I tried to beat the Ice Queen and what not with Atsuma at 3000 something and that didn't work out to well. That is the best suggestion is to raise one person in the parties HP mega high.

Uh, this is a great guide and all, but there's mentions of buying Yuki's Sniper Shot, and using Yuki for some Golem battles, but not a suggestion on what stats she should have to survive those battles. And there's also mention of purchasing a Ruby Butterfly Golem, but also no suggestion on its stats.

I would assume, though, that it's still possible to beat those Golems using the normal setup already mentioned, without having Yuki or the Ruby Butterfly.

EDIT: Oh yeah, quick question, is it possible to get those four Golems you mention (Phoenicia, etc.) after beating the Lord of Earth, or is it not possible to go to the places where the shrines are after that?

Nevermind my last post. I was able to defeat the temple Golems after defeating the Lord of Earth. Now I'm just trying to upgrade them to the proper specs to take on the Queen of Ice (I wish there was a less time consuming way, though).

I am just using all four human characters right now and am about to fight Tokimune. It almost seems as if it is not necessary for me to have a golem to fight and I have Lord Onyx just as back up say if someone dissappears such as when Karin is kidnapped. Did anyone else play the game without using golems like APO etc?

But maybe i should pick up again, head back to the casino. and start ove again. It feels a bit silly to play a whole game for several hours and then quit on the last boss:P

It's not really that much, you only need to get about 1/2 or 2/3 of the way to the recomendations to get by...if you want to breeze through, then go for the full amount of HP/EP and such. Personally, I found that I only had to do the first bit of "leveling" to get through all the way to the Ice Queen. I am considering going back to get Omega...but I'm not really sure if I care enough to do it...I think that the 16 or so hours that I've put in are enough for me.

Eh I like to follow guides pretty closely, so I pretty much did everything it said. Though it is much easier to boost up my characters with God's Ambrosia available. That way I don't have to make 1,395,576,693,523,982,195,385,275,494,683,586,028, 487,006 trips to and from the casino >_<

Edit: Well I've finally finished the game and got all the achievs, thanks again for the wonderful guide....on to Dead Rising :D

Well, rigth now i'm about to face Omega. I'm at level 80 and my party consist on Atsuma, Raigar, Yuki and Karin. But i have a few cuestions before i face Omega.

First, i read somewhere that when doing the Holy beast Shrine quest, the best way to finish it easily is to figth a lot till you can defeat all enemys with "ease". I mean, c'mon, when is that "ease" is supose to happen? Party at level 1000th???? As i said before, i'm at level 80 and i was evading and escaping a lot of fights since 10th level of the shrine. Leveling up is really good there but it seems the fights aren't getting easy at all.

Second was edited. I'm at the Queen of Ice battle and as for now, she appears to be a lot difficult than Omega. Omega couldn't harm my party at all, it was really peace of cake for me at level 80 with Atsuma's HP by 3000. I'll try some roulette thing to max out HP.

Third, is level 80 high enough to finish the game with "ease"?? I'm getting tired of running around, leveling up and stuff. I've got Lost Odissey and want to play it soon. I'm one of those hoo don't start a new game until i have donde the old ones.

Thats it for now. Thanks in advance for helping.

Edit. Just finished the game. Got all my achievements.

Thanks for this great guide. When I used Omega on all the final bosses, I guess I should have felt kinda cheap, but instead I was just dancing in front of my screen (like this :woop:) and singing jaunty tunes :drunkwith the one-word lyric:

"pwned, pwned,

pwned...pwned!"

etc.

It made me happy.

Queen of Ice makes me want to destroy the game. You shouldn't have to spend so much extra time just to get by her. I'm Level 48, with the Main Characters as my party. I brought Atsuma's HP up to 5000, and still get completely destroyed. I managed to beat Emperor of Fire and Lord of Earth like a breeze, what a drag. D=

The last boss should be difficult, but still quite beatable by progressing through the game normally, with some side-dungeon stuff with it (I went and got all the God Orbs). Unfortunately, no dice for me.

I'd go to the Holy Beast Shrine, but the game gets an error and won't load it for me. Even if I could get in, I rented this, and I don't feel like spending that many more hours just to beat a boss that should already be quite beatable. =/

=/

I don't think you do... I played through the game without reading this guide or any other (prefer to do that after I've played through once myself to see what I've missed with my strategy (and what I gained)).

I hated the constant interruption of the game but didn't use the evade encounter skill b/c I thought it was important to level up my characters. I used the human characters exclusively except when Atsuma was on his own (pretty rare). When I reached Queen of Ice, I was about level 48 (same as you) for everyone; Atsuma and Raigar had a bit over 2K hit points while Yuki and Karin were closer to 1500. Took on the queen and she mopped the floor with me. So, I went and did the different temples (water, wind, earth) that I had skipped and, admittedly, spent a small bit of time at the casino to bring Yuki and Karin over 2K HP as well. Having done that, I tried QoI again at lvl 50-51 & everyone over 2K...

I still died a couple of times before realizing that I was trying too hard in the initial battle to keep Atsuma in it. He would always get smacked down right away... but Karin could hold her own for several rounds without anyone else helping her. So, my new strategy was to simply to have Atsuma cast his Force Pain EX, then abandon him to his fate. The other three managed through the first battle and the other battles after that were less biased against Atsuma. With a full complement of items and careful planning, I was able to complete the whole thing without the kind of casino run around others have done.

***

At this point, I read some online stuff about the game and realized I had missed the Holy Beast Shrine entirely (the game seemed so linear I wasn't really expecting anything significant off the main storyline). So, I went back and worked my way through it (still with evade encounter off). That took a while, but the fights were more challenging than most found elsewhere and kept me entertained. I used the Double EXP and Double Sp skills and, by the time I finished, my chars were lvl 71, had between 4K & 6K hit points, primary stats maxed (with the moon weapons enabled) and Agility at 999 (I was tired of being caught off guard).

Went back to the Queen and obliterated her. Wasn't even a stretch the second time around and Atsuma stayed on his feet the whole time...

...

A pretty annoying game for the most part, but I had fun with it.

Happy trails!

The best team in the game (from my experience) is definitely: Yuki, Riagar, Atsuma, and Karine (or whatever her name is). This team is especially phenomenal against bosses as soon as Yuki gets "sniper shot" which has so far done in the 6ks to the Pheonix, Turtle, and Dragon. Atsuma's 2nd ex does an amazing amount of damage as well. Riagar is a really amazing tank (takes a lot of the enemies attacks) and does some really good damage. Kaine's water attack is always useful, and her ability to revive, and heal team members is amazingly handy.

Every attribute you mention is offered and available with far better results from various Golems. Whether it's defensive abilities, healing and reviving, or doing punishing damage. And Yuki's Sniper Shot is fine against low level enemies and bosses, but against major bosses and the final series of bosses she is worthless. Sniper Shot doesn't work against most tougher enemies and her alignment is a problem, especially if Raigar and Karin are your other teammates, because they can do nothing to help her status woes.

For example Yuki's Sniper Shot is doing 6K in damage against the Divine Turtle, but had you used Alibarad instead of Yuki, you could have powered up Atsuma, and Phoenicia. Their main attacks would have done a combined 9K in damage, killing the Turtle instantly.

I found it way easier (and more fun) to level inside a shrine. With double-exp and double-sp you will go from lvl30 to lvl50 in like 2 hours gaining 5000-7000sp a battle which mostly ends in 1 turn (even on auto attack).

Im wondering the same thing , also , i see guys that have like 900k on the leader boards

I used another different method. I only put 1000 on numbers 1 through 6 and nothing more. I suppose you'll earn much more this way. If the odds are against you, load and retry. Everytime you win more than 100k, save and enter the casino again.

When you earn more than 5M, it will take ages to change them for real money. Don't over do it, you won't need that much money.

Thanks mate, i used your strategy and finished the game in 27 hours.

I guess at least half this time spent on the casino to store routine. Damn was it boring

The first time i left with less than half of the stats sugested and everything went fine, all batlles with auto, except bosses.

Everytime i went through london i lost a couple of hours on the casino/store.

I kept the same party till the end (atsuma, apo, sasquatch and marlin grave), so i didn't follow the suggestion to get the better golems too. Last batlle i went with atsuma with 2800 hp and lost easily, so i went back to the casino to upgrade everyone. But when i was about 6000hp i decided to try again, and beat the final battle almost without worries. Everyone else was near 3000hp.

great guide!

I just got back to hit the Casino after beating Lord of Earth (with relative ease, thankfully). I haven't even finished power leveling Atsuma and I've already been at this for hours =\ If I have to max out three other characters or golems aswell, and it's already taken this long for just one, I will surely go insane.

Good guide. I followed your Casino guide, but not until the very end. For anyone that is following this, the way I did it was just use the 4 main characters throughout the game and upgrade Atsuma just from what you get in battle. It might be a good idea to purchase the uprades "Double SP and Double TB". When you get to the 4 elemental golems follow this guide. Then build them as you go along. The 2 you should focus more on are Phoenicia and the Divine Turtle. Keep going through the game until you get the chance to open the gate at the end.
Make sure get a hold of the Golem Floresia as well. Your team should consist of Atsuma, Phoenicia, Divine Turtle, and Floresia now. Build them up as best you can level wise. Then follow this guide for the Casino and stack up as much money as you possibly can. This will take a couple hours so be patient.
I didn't bring my stats up to where the guide said but my strategy made things very easy. My stats were at:
Atsuma lvl 48 HP-3800 EP-850 Ranged-800
Phoenicia lvl 46 HP-2800 EP-750 Ranged-800
Divine Turtle lvl 45 HP-2100 EP-750 Support-999
Floresia HP-1500 EP-1500 Support-850

So as you can see, nowhere near really what this guide suggests. Make sure you max out every healing item possible, just in case things somehow take a turn for the worst. Make sure going into the fight you Max out your EX bar as well.
*SPOILERS*

The fight with Toya is easy. Right away bring everyone in the back row but leave the turtle in the middle. Just use barriers and power up everyone and just go at it. Save your EX abilities. The first fight with the Ice Queen is the hardest, but I figured out a way to take it out very quickly. If you take too long, then you might as well start over. You need to try and finish the Ice Queen within the first 5 rounds or so, or else she will use an ability that causes you to skip a turn. You will die, and very quickly if this happens, but don’t panic the first time she uses it. Right off the bat use Floresia to power up everyone, at the very least Phoenicia. You need to position Divine Turtle and Phoenicia where they overlap each other with their attacks, which should instantly kill everyone on the board but the Queen. If you can position Phoenicia to hit the Queen as well then even better. If you position everyone right then the Queen should end up in the top right corner, which Atsuma needs to follow and be in the top right as well. As long as you keep killing everything right away she’ll stay, if not then just keep wiping everything out and have Atsuma follow here everywhere. After about 4-5 turns she should be around 4500 Hp. Right here you need to go all out at her, and use Atsuma’s Stun Bead Flare attack on her. This should wipe her out as long as everyone is powered up.

Everything else beyond this point should be a piece of cake. Just make sure you take your time with everything. Always power everyone up, use Divine Turtles Barrier, and everything from here on out should be smooth sailing.

I've just now started working on this game getting caught up with FFXIII and what not, but the casino is so time consuming. I do see where it is useful though, because I took a step into the Fire Shrine, and got wiped on the first battle in there, so I still need much work to do.

Also, where do I obtain the "Double SP and TB" upgrades?

Where do you get APO and Marlin?

I must say, using the casino strategy is excellent, however, I find myself wanting to shoot the developers in the fuckin face for only being allowed to carry 9 of the Recovery Powders and 9 Skill Gems. This makes the process take forever! Otherwise a great strategy to buff up your characters! And wow.. that dude is gay!

So yeah, I seem to be having SERIOUS problems with this. I feel like I am doing this so totally wrong and I'm getting rather annoyed with the game. According to this guide, it takes approximately 1,000,000 TB to get all four characters to their desired strength. According to Pavalon, it takes around 2,000,000 TB with 300,000-500,000 TB needed for each character. I have no idea where they got these numbers, as I have burned through 1,500,000 TB ON ATSUMA ALONE and haven't even gotten his Ranged stat to 500 yet. By doing some simple calculations I'm guessing that judging from where I am in my boosting right now it will probably take me around 3,000,000 more TBs to get me where I need to be. That makes 5,000,000 TB in total.WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I honestly don't feel like doing the trick a good three more times because it takes too long and it's absolutely mind-numbing. Does anyone have any idea why it's taking so much more TB to increase my character's parameters??? And how is everyone getting such lower costs???

Great guide, im just finishing up leveling my 4 chars at the casino for the 1st time(26hrs). But ive just realized I also already have Floresia and she has the stat boost skill like Sasquatch, which made leveling him up a waste of time?
Im guessing we can skip Sasquatch and start using/leveling Floresia straight away?

I don't think these numbers are correct for this early in the game and more a guideline on what to aim for before you reach Lord of Earth.

I ran a few numbers myself, based on the suggestions in the guide. I didn't level Marlin or Sasquatch, so unless the starting stats for these golems differ, the required amount of TB to level those two to the suggested stats, respectively, is 696,450 TB and 1,199,700 TB.
I have already leveled APO a bit and still need 1,779,600 TB to get his stats up and I still need 859,980 TB to get enough gems for Atsuma (whose HP I've already got up to 1,000).

So, I need a total amount of 4,535,730 TB just to get all those stats up using Skill Gems. My guess is that these numbers are a guideline, because another 840 trips to the casino isn't exactly my idea of a good time: at 1 minute per trip it still takes 14 hours before I can continue.
