If he doesn't come online to fight with the belts then we are stuffed!

This would be a big mistake from EASports if they don't sort it whereby if you don't defend your belts within 'x' many days then the belt is lost and the next 2 top contenders should be able to slug it out for the belts.

Whoever has the belt has to defend it within 72 hours or the belt is stripped from him/her. I'm pretty sure I heard that from someone. It would be unfair for someone to get the belt and then decide to never play again so they keep it forever.

EDIT: I now remember where I read the 72 hours thing from. There were a few posts on the official EA Forums asking the same thing and that was the response to the question.

No, it takes you back out to the leaderboard so you can search for another opponent.

Would be great if it was confirmed that will happen.

All you need is a champ with 2 accounts & constantly switch belt back & forth every 3 days to annoy the shit out of everyone

it serves to keep you as one of the few people with 1000 ;) although i would imagine you would get rather a lot of none too pleasant messages on XBL

don't have to start the match do you, just search at random 5am tuesday time until you find desired opponent

that is what they are doing. the middle weight camp was on the other night and he was fighting somebody. so i was watching his profile waiting for him to get out so I could try to get in a match with him. anyway the fight went 2 rounds and he lost the belt. then he got right back with the same guy and the guy gave it right back. The guy was on his friends list that helped him boost.

Yeah of course they wouldn't just allow one person to sit on it, they would have definately put somethin in place to prevent it... on the other hand... it is EA we're talking about here
