last show was
Slipknot and Trivium and Coheed and Cambria

the one before that one was
AC/DC and some band i dun remember.

we could go on and on, but that's just from this year, haven't been many concerts i've even been interested in seeing lately. there are some good bands the OP posted, i saw Sick Puppies and Finger 11 in a small bar (about 50 people occupancy around the stage) then about another 25 in the bar itself....awesome show.

Kind of embarrassed to say this, but I've never been to a concert (unless you count the classic concerts my music teacher assigned our class to see). I've wanted to go to a bunch of concerts but I can't afford the ticket prices, and my parents won't pay my way. Plus the musical acts I really wants to see (such as Dream Theater) aren't coming anywhere near Albuquerque. it's kind of sad, really.

Well, until things went a bit arse over elbow, I was meant to be seeing Michael Jackson tonight.

However, I last went to see Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds at Nottingham Trent FM Arena last month. Last actual gig was Snow Patrol at the same arena, I believe.

Well I've never gone to a famous band's concert before but I just recently went to a friend's band concert at a metal bar.
They were fairly good although my friend decided to disband it cuz apparently the guitarists sounded like shit (according to him...).
I also remember about 3 years ago I was going to go to a My Chemical Romance concert with my ex-girlfriend but I didn't want to go so I passed up on it.

Last concert I went to was in Vegas In July. My wife and I drove out there to watch Blindside, Flyleaf and Head(Former guitarist of Korn). It was really cool. Blindside rocked, Head wasn't as bad as I though he would be, and the music was too loud for Flyleaf so no one could really hear the singer that well. Bummer :(

I think Alkaline Trio are probably the one band that I'll always go and see no matter how bad they continue to get. Their live shows are largely older material, so it's always worth the money.

Unfortunately with me being as busy as I am I don't get to see many bands. Most of them just come to Atlanta, I live farther away from the city than I used to. I saw Dragonforce in Dec. 08. Yep, it's been that long. They are okay, fun for a few songs. But no matter how much my friend tries to convince me, their songs start sounding the same after a while.

I saw the band Sweet (yes Sweet from the 60's, 70's and 80's) at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary, AB last saturday night.
It was $39.99 a ticket and you could sit anywhere. I grabbed the 2nd row just to the left of the stage.
During the show I managed to grab a guitar pick.
After the show I found a setlist and bought a picture of the band. They were signing autographs so I decided to get the setlist, picture, and ticket autographed by the band. If you would like to know the setlist I have posted it below:

Yeah, I was quite excited to hear a few songs that I hadn't had the pleasure of hearing live at previous shows. The tour kicked off last night. They are playing Houston tonight but I didn't get tickets. I hadn't got to see them since Lateralus and 10,000 days were released. I hope they will finally release a new record...It has been far too long for me (one of my favorite bands).

Yeah I was hoping to hear it live. I still haven't gotten to hear it.

At one of the shows in Houston awhile back, Maynard was sick and couldn't really sing, so the crowd took over...The Pot was supposedly on the setlist but not played, along with a few others (Opiate)...He apologized after the show and they added a date somewhat close by in Bossier city. Needless to say, they made up for it! It was one of the better shows I have ever seen.

How many times have you seen them?

After the show on Saturday, 4 times. I always say 3 though because I didn't really count the show where the crowd sang every song. It was still a fun experience but when I say sick, Maynard literally sang the first 2 songs and then you could barely hear anything from him for the rest of the evening. I was also going to go to the Houston show last night but reading the set on a fansite, they played the exact same set. They are notorious for doing that though.

Seeing Iron Maiden two times in about two weeks (PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ on July 11 and Madison Square Garden in NYC on July 12), which brings my total of seeing Maiden in concert to 16 since I started going to their shows in 2003. Beyond stoked for those shows.

2nd best was when I saw Metallica with Machine Head and the Sword.

1st best was when i saw the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem festival like a week ago. Rob Zombie, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Atreyu, Hatebreed, Winds of Plague, In This Moment, Chimaira and Shadows Fall. Metallica used to be the best show ive ever sawm but rob zombie had giant 30 ft robots that were on fire and his finale was when his drummer left and he was replaced by guys dressed up like the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz that played the drum part to Dragula on 55 gal drums. It was epic. (And between lamb of god and 5 finger death punch, midgets dressed like oompaloompas break danced)

Last show I went to was Warped Tour, bands I watched in this order:
We the Kings
UnderOATH
AttackAttack!
Alexisonfire
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
The Devil Wears Prada
Chiodos

I also saw part of the Millionaires set and my wife and I boo'd them in between songs. We weren't the only ones. Why the frak were they allowed on Warped?

MC Chris at Headliners Music Hall in Louisville, KY. My favorite rapper. Also he does a lot of work on the side with Adult Swim. For example, he's the voice of hesh on Sealab 2021, and MC pee pants on Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Went to a VAST concert last year that had a few bands out of the Twin Cities opening for them. It was pretty good. And then two years ago I went to a Judas Priest concert with some of my friends. That's probably the best one I've been to so far.

Get to go see Rush on Friday at the State Fair though, so there's something more current.

EDIT: Rush concert was...to put it simply: amazing. The three guys can still play some dang good music for their age. About 3 hours of all their best hits. Awesome.

Last concert went to was Ash at Preston in July. Very very good :)
Hopefully gonna see Manic Street Preachers, Interpol and Oceansize before the year is out (maybe not all three, but definitely at least one - probably Oceansize if I had to choose just one).

Get to go see Rush on Friday at the State Fair though, so there's something more current.

I am so jealous. Wish they would come to Britain :(

Uproar Fest yesterday/last night. Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed absolutely rocked. I only caught half of Halestorm's set because I was late getting to my seat thanks to watching Hellyeah perform. Overall fantastic concert experience, even if it was miserably hot.

Edit: More details with videos!

Straight Line Stitch, Hail the Villian, and New Medicine were skipped because it was so fucking hot out. Me and my buddy hung out under a tree until Airbourne came on.

Airbourne: Full of energy. Slightly sloppy, but from this generation's AC/DC, it is acceptable. I think they only played like 6 songs, but all of them were great. Their lead guy hopped onto the shoulders of a roadie and had him walk through the crowd while he continued to jam on his guitar. Good "opening" band.

YouTube - Airbourne - Runnin' Wild (Live in Charlotte NC) HD

Hellyeah: Decent. They captured the crowd better than Airbourne did, but all I kept thinking was that I'd rather see Mudvayne. It was good to see Vinnie Paul slaying the drums though.

Halestorm: Unfortunately, I missed half of their set because I had to make my way to my seats after watching Hellyeah close the opening stage. What I did see did impress me. Lzzy Hale has a really good voice, and their drummer (her brother) has some talent. Unfortunately, probably because of when they played (opening the main stage basically right after Hellyeah) they didn't get the crowd that involved. Would love to see them again, though.

Stone Sour: Very solid. Corey Taylor is one of my favorite "current" vocalists and he didn't disappoint me. While mixing in other songs, they played quite a bit off Come What(ever) May which is good because that's the only album by them that I own. They really got the crowd ready for Avenged and Disturbed. Definitely want to see them as a headliner (only played about 8-9 songs).

Avenged Sevenfold: Outstanding. I was a bit concerned on how well they would be since they lost The Rev last year, but man, did they put on a show. Even my buddy agreed, and he doesn't like them at all. Mike Portnoy was beasting the drums, even if he wasn't necessairly playing to his true potential, so to speak. From their stage to their actual performance, they nailed it, and the crowd responded. I would love to see them again, especially if they were able to play longer (only played an hour).

Disturbed: Finally. One of the bands I've had to wait years to see. And it was worth it. First off, I have to remark on the strength of David Draiman voice. I was blown away. I could hear him clear as day over the music, probably more so than any other band I've seen so far. Just amazing. The rest of the band was just as tight. They played a lot of surprises, to me anyway. Just like A7X, I would love to see them play longer (just over a tight hour). Outstanding band, outstanding performance, outstanding fest.

Hatebreed about 5 hours ago.

Absolutely fantastic show as always, although, I really wish they'd drop "Never Let It Die" from the setlist.

I've seen Hatebreed three times now, and each time the crowd has been different (In a bad way).

The first time, in November 2006, the crowd was full of big bald guys obviously well into their hardcore, fists flying and just general mayhem. This was the crowd I bloody loved, well up my street. There was a lot of blood and broken knuckles but it was still a fun night.

The second time was in February of this year in their support slot for Machine Head. This crowd was half and half, and by that I mean, half big bald hardcore guys, half big hairy metal guys. I loved this show but something just felt different, a lot of anger and aggression was missing, but I still had a bunch of fun and Hatebreed put on a mean show.

The third time, tonight, was baffling to me. There was almost none of the big bald guys I'd seen before, it was completely full of hairy metal dudes, and the few hardcore guys that were in attendance, generally got picked on by all the elitists in the crowd that are convinced Hatebreed are a metal band. Now don't get me wrong I don't have any problem with the guys well into their metal, but I have a bit of a problem with people being dicks to other people just doing their own thing, like my buddy Fred just getting a bit of a groove on and some nob jockey pushing him about because he didn't like what he was doing. Here's me thinking the whole point of going to a show is to have fun, but apparently it's not about that anymore, it's about doing what everyone else is doing or you'll be targeted.

There was barely a shred of the violence that I've grown accustomed to, bar during a couple of the old songs when the guys who've been Hatebreed fans since the 1990's and the early 2000's appeared. What happened then? Fists were flying and the metalheads who were being dicks ran about throwing anyone doing it out of the pit. I think it's kind of sad to see a band with hardcore roots dragging out people who didn't know any of the older songs, and having the hardcore sucked out of the show. I understand that Hatebreed have a adopted a more metal sound, but at heart they're still a hardcore band, and people should realise this and accept the fact that there's going to be hardcore fans in the audience. The audience in February was like this, everyone was accepting what everyone was doing. Let the hardcore dudes bash eachother up, then you do your thing, it's not hard, besides, everyone loves a good circle pit.

This might sound like I'm bashing the metal community, but I'm not, I love metal, and most people at this show didn't give a shit what people were doing in the pit, they were just out to see Hatebreed and that was that. It's these elitists and pit kings in the crowd that I'm bashing on. If you don't understand a band and it's many different fans, don't bother coming out.

Hatebreed were phenomenal, but amount of dick heads in the crowd trying to be pit kings kind of spoilt it, and so did the fact that there was a barrier.

My brother and I went to see KoRn, Five Finger Death Punch and 2Cents on April 2nd this year in Regina, Saskatchewan. The frontman for 2Cents does vocals and drums and in between songs he kept talking about emo kids slitting their wrists in the crowd because no one was moving around, then he started talking about how Lady Gaga is just some chick with a penis who has no talent. Then he said something about Mind fucking all the women in the crowd with his mind. lol. When KoRn played their 12 or so songs, the singer(Jonathon Davis) would put on an oxygen mask and get some oxygen in between songs.

The concert that I went to before was on November 20th, 2009 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Saw Dirge Within(good band), Trivium(not so great), Chimaira(great band) and Whitechapel(3 guitarists, 1 bass, drummer, vocalist that does crazy death growls and shit). I was so tired because it was a 6 hour drive to the show and I was hungry, didn't eat anything until midnight when the concert was over, last time I ate was noon, so 12 hours with no food and I couldn't leave because there was no re-entry if you left the show early. :(

Here's some clips that some dude added to youtube.

There are a lot of bands that I missed seeing over the years, Disturbed, Children Of Bodom, As I Lay Dying, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Skeletonwitch, Arch Enemy, All That Remains, DevilDriver, Kalmah, Parkway Drive. I even bought tickets to see that stupid Dragonforce band but I couldn't go because of a crazy blizzard coming into the area, didn't get a refund on the $40 ticket. I hope I get to see more metal bands in the future.:woop:

DevilDriver/Kataklysm/Kittie

Ho...ly...fuckme's. I missed all but one Kittie song cause the fiancee hates 'em grumblegrumblegrumblegrumble but Kataklysm did a good job. Nothing too impressive but that's because one of the opening acts didn't know what a set time was and the owners let 'em play 10 songs before pulling their plug, and even then the band kept playing, then got pissed when they realized they were pulled. Idiots. BUT, it was my third time seeing DevilDriver. First time, speakers at the venue sucked. Second time, they were on a tour they didn't want to be on (Thrash and Burn), but this time, there was so much energy and intensity in their set, the audio kicked ass, and I FINALLY got to see them at their best.

Also, the vocalist of Kataklysm checked my fiancee out when he walked by and shook his head up and down approvingly as he walked away, I made Mercedes (I believe that's her name, vocalist of Kittie) genuinely smile as the crowd turned on them for not playing anything off Spit and the creepy old man harassing her for an autograph, and Dez looked around during "Clouds over California" (prior talking about the girl he has in california or whatever) saw my fiancee, was taken back slightly, got a shit eating grun and looked at me and gave me a thumbs up haha.

DevilDriver/Kataklysm/Kittie a couple months ago.
Was great, except for all the damn feedback during DevilDrivers set, but I had heard the venues sound wasn't that impressive so I didn't go in with very high expectations, but they were a hell of a lot better that the last time I saw them and actually put effort into their performance this time, which made me happy.
Kataklysm...well, it's Kataklysm. Was just bummed their set got cut short because the opening bands went over their set time and I guess the venue booked one too many opening bands. :(
Kittie...meh, I was outside sitting in the car during all but one song cause as someone said, I dislike Kittie.
