The game is structurally similar to Guitar hero 5, and will support full band play (lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals) including the drop-in/drop-out and in-song instrument and difficulty change menus, and additional multiplayer modes as Guitar Hero 5. Unlike the main Guitar Hero games, where the focus is on the lead guitar portions of the songs, Band Hero provides a soundtrack more oriented towards pop rock to challenge the whole band.

Band Hero will feature more than 65 songs from "mainstream acts", according to MSNBC, In addition to the tracks below, songs from Avril lavigne, Blink 182, Maroon 5, Snow patrol, and The killers will also be on the disc. The game will also allow Guitar Hero WT DLCs to be used within Band Hero, and is expected to also use similar content for Guitar Hero 5.In addition, some on-disc songs from both Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero Smash Hits will be importable into Band Hero and Guitar Hero 5 for a small fee, with music licensing limiting those that cannot be transferred.

The songs confirmed for Band hero are:

-- ABC by Jackson 5

-- American Pie by Don MClean

-- Break on through and The End by The Doors

-- Dirty Little Secret by All-American Rejects

-- Every Rose Has It Thorns by Poison

-- Just a girl by No doubt

-- Let's Dance, Picture to Burn and You belong with me by Taylor Swift

-- Sugar We're going down, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs by Fall out boy

-- Take What You Take by Lily Alien

The Game is set to release on november 2009.

Judging by these, this game is not for me. But i'll wait for the full tracklist for my final judgement.

This seems more like a family game.... or for 13 year olds party.... or something like that.

Okay, seemed like you edited everything up okay. The only thing wrong I see is the first "The Doors" song.

It's "Break on Through" not "Back on Through."

Hope you didn't take my post the wrong way, I only want to help. ;)

Isn't that the idea behind Band Hero? To make it more appealing to people who are into todays music? Or at least people that are not into rock/metal.

It's only a matter of time before Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers pop up....

The list looks lame to me. Except for those Doors songs. I wish they would release for Rock Band. 'The End' by the Doors is def. not for a kids game if anyone has read the lyrics.

That's actually a pretty cool list, some easy-listening songs on there, if I'm in a pop mood then this game could work rather well.

To be honest, i'm surprised that they haven't made one for Hannah Montana or the Jonas brothers yet.

As Neversoft said, this game is more for the people who don't know the older music, and the people who just want to play some songs they've heard again, and again, and again, on Trent FM. :p

Guitar Hero is more for the hardcore players, and people who are into Rock/Metal/all that other jazz (Jazz not being Jazz, but Jass being 'jazz'... um...), while Band Hero is for the children, families, people who just like this music.

I'll still buy it anyway. :)

I meant heavy rock/metal, or as older people would say "Loud Music".

People said the game seems kiddy because of the music, but they said nothing about their music taste being metal/heavy rock. Some of the music does seem like stuff only kids will listen to, but not all of it.

Try not to jump to conclusions.

ABC by Jackson 5 and American Pie by Don MClean are the only two songs off that list that are worth my time.

Seems like it will be yet another music game with a shitty selection of music.

That's true, but he didn't say that anything other than metal is just for kids. He said that the game is aimed more towards people who are not into metal. Daiphyer didn't see it like that it seems.

This game makes no sense whatsoever i dont get the fact that guitar hero has moved on to a band play when it is called GUITAR HERO and band hero is what the same thing as the other games im just in amazement of how activision and the whole guitar hero franchise its crazy guitar hero 2 and 3 came out at a 2 year difference between them and now they are just shutung iut the games ever other month in the past 2 years i think they have had 6 guitar heros its so bad!

My point wasn't that the word metal had been said, mine was that he said people were saying anythign not metal is for kids. Which no one had said. People said the game was for kids/family, which is true neversoft said that is what the game is intended for.

taylor swift? Nelly Furtado? Lilly Allen? are uou f*cking kidding me. i was hoping this game was going to have a decent setlist (after the shitty Guitar Hero 5 setlist) so i could get it, but ive lost all hope in Activision

Band Hero is pretty obviously meant to appeal to a different customer base. The Guitar Hero series will still be aimed at the rock/metal fans, whereas Band Hero is a whole different series being branded under a separate moniker, and will appeal to the pop crowd. Seems like a solid business decision by Activision.

This game is basically GH5 with a different soundtrack from the sounds of it. They're just calling it "Band Hero" since it looks bad if they release GH5 in Sept then GH6 in Nov

they would throw Taylor Swift in there. I'm waiting for full release on playable charater's,if they throw Travis Barker in it i will buy it. If they don't, they better throw in some harder rock if they want me to buy it.:)

Nelly Furtado???? WTFFFF??

The list is very lame, except for The Doors, and A little thing called love, which will suck on all instruments, except Vocals
