Install your own HD on your 360

I've been waiting for this to happen since release. Someone's finally found out how to use a standard SATA HDD on their 360. There is a catch though, two really.

1. It must be a Western Digital HDD from the BEVS series.

2. Because MS digitally signed their HDDs to 20GB, you can only utilize 20GB of the new HDD to save info to. BUT, once a new official MS HDD comes out, you can use the signature from that HDD on your bigger HDD.

What's the point you ask? Money, you'll be able to save a lot of it. That's about it, plain and simple.

TheSpecialist (one of the hackers who worked a lot on the original Xbox (360) DVD Firmware hack) sent us an awesome new tool that will allow you to use your own new SATA HDD in your Xbox360! No more 100usd for 20GB ;)

The current tool only works with Western Digital BEVS series HDDs (20GB or larger needed) and for now you can use max 20GB, but when Microsoft will release larger drives you will be able to use as much space as Microsoft's largest HDD.

Full link (with the programs readme) here.

Once a larger official MS HDD comes out I might have to try this just because. I mean, I'm a sucker for accessories so I'll end up buying the larger HDD anyways, but I love to try new things.

EDIT: Can a mod please change the title from HD to HDD? Once done please delete this edit. Thanks.
