I was reading that article but where is this website being mentioned at? Is there a page I'm missing? It has a picture of a Small Arms screen shot.

Some good mainstream exposure there. Seeing as it is so old would there be any way to get into another one of their articles?

I feel like making a t-shirt with 'I use xbox360achievements.org' on it, going on TV and converting the masses.

Wow! Nice find King. How did you come across that man?

And for Tyger...

But among the fans of Achievements including those who have created Web sites such as Xbox360Achievments.org to track and discuss the milestones a concern has set in that the fresh idea might be turned stale by the prevalence of uncreative Achievement rosters.

haha I was thinking that the site should start producing merchandise. I wouldn't mind buying like a few t-shirts depending on whats on them.

I mean the web comics I read have their own merchendise and they make quite a bit of money from it. Most of the time the really funny versions of the t-shirts are sold out etc.

Cafe-press comes to mind. Get some logos on T-Shirts and maybe offer ones with the staff action figure pictures on them.

Yeah Zef but I recently got a Cafepress t-shirt for my mom for Christmas and it's the worst quality PoS t-shirt I've ever seen in my life. Also, it was $30 USD with shipping and it was 1 t-shirt and the lowest cost shipping option. Not worth it IMO.

Hey anything will do but aslong it's not really expensive. It should be a reasonable price.

I'd probably buy a 2-3.

Hey this was cool. I thought we were going to be mentioned in a list or something but we were the only mention out of websites! The merchandise or the comic idea is pretty cool also. I used to be an artist. its been so long but ill try to draw something and send it to yall on Sunday. A comic idea or a merchandise idea. This would definitely broaden our site and give us more rep.

would be nice if they had spelt the websites name correctly

But among the fans of Achievements — including those who have created Web sites such as Xbox360Achievments.org

shame they missed the E after V

Merchandise is something that has been on the cards for a while- we are looking into European and US outfits

I'm sure people would have used common sense though as I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of people could spell Achievement :p

that is a pretty cool find

If you could figure out how to do it you guys should make yourself's a dashboard theme, not sur ehow it could be done but if you could do it that would make TONS of people come on the site

I might use it, except on Mondays when Jack Bauer would go back up...LOL!

I did a quick search and the theme should be very doable. My PC won't talk to my 360, but I can take a memory card to my friend's house and stream it there...Here is a quick cut/paste of the directions:

My question is this: How do you put these custom themes on the dashboard? I don’t see any way to do this.

What you need to do is either put the picture on your memory unit, hard disk, cd/dvd, or stream it from your computer. Then, you find the picture under your media blade, and when you’re viewing the thumbnails, press X on the one you want. This will allow you to make a wallpaper out of it. http://blog.dashboardthemes.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
Hope that helps.

I never realized custom themes were possible. Would someone mind telling me how to do this? http://blog.dashboardthemes.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I have put up a template which may help may help you place your own custom-made image as your dashboard image for your XBOX 360.
http://www.podtrails.com/xboxdashboardtemplate/ (http://www.podtrails.com/xboxdashboardtemplate/)
“1280720px dashboard MASTERAlpha.psd” : Photoshop file with main areas as an alpha layer.
“Dashboard-Template.jpg” : JPEG file showing main areas.
“Gears-of-War.jpg” : Sample dashboard image.
The template shows where the main areas are on the dashboard such as your gamercard and featured download boxes are so your can design your image to incorporate, or wrap around these areas if you wish. This is not a theme guide, unfortunately as at the moment as you can only put up one image as a background for all of your blades, but here in a nutshell is how you can do it.
The image you need is 1280720 pixels. Allow for the image to bleed off to the right and left following the template and the image remaining will show up on your dashboard.
Save as a jpeg file at 72dpi and save it onto something that can communicate with your XBOX360.
Press right on your D Pad until you hit the Media Blade and hit pictures. Select the device where you have stored the picture and the picture you want to use - use the D Pad to select the picture you want and press X to apply as background.
Return to the main screen to see the full effect.

I came to this thread interested in the mention, but now want to talk about merchandising oportunities...

If we had shirts, hats, coffee cups, or whatever, I would definatly buy some. You know black shirts with white lettering, and various sayings and/or logos.

I did professional wrestling for 4 years and every fedearation I worked with used internet merchandising, most used cafepress, and I bought a lot of stuff...Actually, most of the stuff turned out just fine, prior to a comment someone made earlier about the quality...maybe you got a bad batch?

But really, we should open up a thread about this in another section of the site and get feedback from vistors/members and really think about it.

A great shirt for the GoW toruny could be a black shirt with the Gears logo on front, and X360a.org on the front, and then the competitor, team, place, or a combination of those.
