I have just unlocked all the achievements for this game except the 5000 and i could say if you're looking for a place to drive just play the tour of the island over and over it's all traffic free open roads mainly high ways so that should help you easily rack up miles.

I just go up and down the high ways.
Its still incredibly slow though :/

yea, it was a slow tedious thing to do, but just pan around with your gps zoomed all the way in. If you sit for a few, you just pound em out

Ive only got this and the house and car buying left to do............. Best way i found was to just get a mate on and cruise up and down the giant freeway in the same car.............. Better than doing it alone and a bit more competitive!

This achievement is bunk. Probably one of the worst achievements to get in the game

Nah not really, if you play online with friends you should really be close to the 5000 miles. I mean I've not bothered playing online with friends but I've done 3100 miles just trying to complete single player 100%, I would have done over 3500 by time I'm finished. If I did play online with friends I would probably only haave 500 miles or so of roaming around to do, not much of a chore to be honest.

Agree with Butters - Island Tour.

No cops, no other traffic and you're flat out for most of it.

butters is the best way to get to 5000 miles cuz no traffic and cops and also because you can always just restart when every and you start the race over but hold on to the miles you driven, what a great idea butters

Just put some tape on your RT trigger and get on the highway, I'm on nearly 2000 with 40% of the story done.

sometimes my brother uses the internet on his computer and i'm left offline, so if i go no test drive (offline) and get a few achievements, turn off my xbox, come on again a bit later with live connected will my achievements still be there?

Yes, as far as I know your miles will be added and any achievements awarded on your profile when you're next online :)

I've done about 3400miles and I haven't played the game for about a month....

Must get the missions finished at some point

Make Your own challenge with long straights and repeat it. When You master Your time - share it via Drive-In:).
