Red Alert 3: Commander’s Challenge
Achievement Guide

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1173/ico.jpg

Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge is a series of skirmish matches with different preset scenarios. You start out with only the basic tech to construct and unlock more as you complete the challenges. There are thirteen "main path" challenges and thirty-seven side challenges. There are twelve achievements (four secrets) worth the standard two hundred gamer points. The secret achievements are the only ones you can miss if you heed the known issues. I've included known issues and some key notes. The key notes apply to all the challenges, so keep them in mind.

Known Issues:

- It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=179849)) that if you do the all the challenges but one under par then complete the last challenge under par without first completing it over par, you will not get “Victor” or “Future Leader”. It’s suggested you intentionally leave at least one challenge over par first. That means at most doing twelve (12) main path challenges under par and at least one left over par (giving you "Victor"), then do the thirteenth challenge under par (giving you "Superior Commander"). After that you then do no more than forty-nine (49) challenges under par and the fiftieth (50th) over par (giving you "Future Leader"), then do it under par (giving you "King Of The World").Thank you IIII Aaron IIII.

- It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=178082)) that if you use the Red Alert button, you mission completion time will automatically be 99:59. Do not use the Red Alert button when going for par times. Thank you Snake Eyes. I recommend completing all the challenges without worrying about par times first. This way you have all the tech unlocked and have more options when going for par. This will also help keep you from the first issue.

Key Notes:

- Main Path challenges are marked on your map with circular, almost cross-hair like icons. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/main-notry.jpg

- Optional challenges are marked on your map with triangle icons. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/option-notry.jpg

- A silver star on a challenge's marker means you completed the challenge, unlocking the tech, but over the par time. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/main-nopar.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/option-nopar.jpg

- A gold star on a challenge's marker means you completed the challenge under the par time. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/main-par.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/option-par.jpg

- While playing a challenge you can pause the game (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/start.png) then hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png to bring up the mission data. Here on the right you'll be shown your current time as well as the par time. This is a good way to know if you're already over the par and don't waste more time.

- Challenges are completed by destroying all enemy built structures minus defenses. Tech buildings and units (including garrisoned buildings), don't matter. For challenges with multiple enemy commanders or commanders with multiple bases, when you destroy a base completely you will be informed that an enemy has been defeated (you'll also see all units from that base be destroyed).

- If you put the cursor (using :ls:) on a challenge’s marker (on the selection map), the bottom of the screen will show the challenge title, your best time (if completed), the par time, and the unit you unlock by completing it.

- If you think you need tech you don't have, check the other challenges available to you and go unlock it.

- The Red Alert Button http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/alertbtn.jpg (hold :rtbut: and left on :ls: or :rtbut: when prompted in the heat of battle, ) will give your current units promotions and you the credits you have stored. But be warned of the second known issue of this function disabling your ability to complete the challenge under par. If you're have credits issues, I recommend playing an easier mission and just spend some time collecting ore for credits to stash.

- The best advice I can give for when you are stuck, especially when going for under par times, is to go to youtube.com. Search for "commander's challenge speed run" or "commander's challeng dojo rush" (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=red%20alert%203%20commander%2 7s%20challenge%20dojo%20rush&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1) and you'll find plenty of videos of people completing challenges well under par. Most videos are of the PC version, but the challenges are the same, you just have to adapt the controls and commands. They'll give you a good idea anyway (get Dojos close to enemy, train mass amount of infantry, and destroy enemey). Other than that, just build what you need and not anything else. You'll see people selling "vital" structures, but they need the money over the structure. The challenge will be over in five to ten minutes anyway.

Complete all lessons in the tutorial

You must do all five lessons in the tutorial from start to finish. They can be done in any order, but top to bottom works best if you’re actually learning the game. Just follow what the tank trainers tell you to do. There are a couple lessons where they tell you you’re on your own. For the base building lesson, as soon as they tell you to experiment and select them when you’re done, you can just select them and not actually build any more. For destroying the base, it’s just a matter of destroying all of the enemy structures any way you can.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/-jpwFA==.jpgFirst Blood 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete the first challenge mission, "Dead Meat".

This is the first mission you can do and the only one available at the start. This is also a good challenge to chose to experiment with the game as the enemy doesn't do much.

Here you are limited to very few units. The enemy builds only infantry, so there's not much to worry about. I did it as the Allies. Build a Power Plant, a Boot Camp, an Ore Refinery (or two), and an Armor Facility. Train some Riptide ACVs (I used three), and enough Javelin Soldiers to fill them. The ACVs will take care of all the enemy infantry easily enough. Just head straight east to the enemy base and deploy your Javelin Soldiers to destroy the structures while the ACVs finish off any infantry. Watch the Prospectors (ore gatherers) as they'll stop getting ore to take out some of you're infantry.

Complete all 13 main path challenge missions

Each time you complete a challenge you'll unlock another challenge. The only way to unlock main path challenges is to complete a main path challenge. You just have to complete all thirteen main path challenges. You do not have to worry about completion time.

Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=179849)) that if you do the first twelve challenges under par then complete the last challenge under par without first completing it over par, you will not get “Victor”. It’s suggested you intentionally leave at least one challenge over par first for "Victor". Thank you IIII Aaron IIII.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/-0NxSA==.jpgSuperior Commander 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all 13 main path challenge missions under par time

Here is where speed and completion time matters. Each challenge has a set par time (viewable in it's summery). Be quick. You'll know you have a challenge done under par as it's marker will have a gold star.

Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=179849)) that if you do the first twelve challenges under par then complete the last challenge under par without first completing it over par, you will not get “Victor”. It’s suggested you intentionally leave at least one challenge over par first for "Victor".Thank you IIII Aaron IIII.
Second Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=178082)) that if you use the Red Alert button, your mission completion time will automatically be 99:59. Do not use the Red Alert button when going for par times. Thank you Snake Eyes.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/-Bt5oQ==.jpgFuture Leader 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all 50 challenge missions

You unlock your first optional challenge after the second main path challenge. This achievement includes all main path challenges and all optional challenges. Completion time doesn't matter, just concentrate on winning.

Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=179849)) that if you do the first forty-nine challenges under par then complete the last challenge under par without first completing it over par, you will not get “Future Leader”. It’s suggested you intentionally leave at least one challenge over par first for "Future Leader".Thank you IIII Aaron IIII.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/-zxtrw==.jpgKing Of The World 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete all 50 challenge missions under par time

Here you need all option and main path challenges done under the par time. Speed is important. It's a good idea to beat the challenges taking your time first, that way you know what the enemy is up to and the locations of key spots. When you go for par, you'll stop most of the enemy's plan before they get started.

Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=179849)) that if you do the first forty-nine challenges under par then complete the last challenge under par without first completing it over par, you will not get “Future Leader”. It’s suggested you intentionally leave at least one challenge over par first for "Future Leader". Thank you IIII Aaron IIII.
Second Note: It is reported (link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=178082)) that if you use the Red Alert button, your mission completion time will automatically be 99:59. Do not use the Red Alert button when going for par times. Thank you Snake Eyes.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/+5ib7Q==.jpgBattle Tested 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete any 10 challenge missions

You just have to complete any ten challenge missions (showing the silver or gold stars). They can be both optional and main path challenges. Completion time doesn’t matter. You will get this before you complete the main path challenges.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/+bmSWA==.jpgBattle Hardened 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Complete any 25 challenge missions

You just have to complete any twenty-five challenge missions (showing the silver or gold stars). They can be both optional and main path challenges. Completion time doesn’t matter. I recommend going for this before attempting to complete many challenges under par. This way you can unlock more tech for your use.

Secret Achievements:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/s1.jpgBig Game Hunter 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
You killed all of the giant bears in "Number One Threat to America".

This is done in the optional challenge "Number One Threat to America" (south-east United States (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/1theat.jpg)). You must kill all of the green armored bears. These bears are larger than any the enemy can train and are all around outer edge of the map at the start of the challenge. I recommend destroying most of the enemy base first and just leave at least one structure (Ore Refineries or Reactors work well). Then send some quick units to do a lap around the map, killing any bears you might have missed. There are twenty-five (25) bears in all - five along each side around the outer edge of the map and five swimming around the middle lake. Killing a giant bear promotes your unit to a full star veteran, so they're a great way to boost an attack force while it's en route. Once you have the achievement, you can complete the challenge or quit out.

Note: This has to be done in the one challenge and cannot be done in any of the other challenges.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/s2.jpgRecycler 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
You killed 20 Steel Ronin

This is best done in the main path challenge "Symphony of Steel" (middle Japan (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/steel.jpg)). I suggest building some defense units and structures at the top of the only ramp up to your base and just let them come to you. The AI will just keep sending Steel Ronin and Archer Maidens to your base. Once you have the achievement, you can complete the challenge or quit out.

Note: This has to be done in one challenge and does not accumulate from challenge to challenge.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/s3.jpgKilled A Ton 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
You cleaned up! You killed 20 Desolator Troopers.

This is done in the optional challenge "Kill-A-Ton" (mid-eastern Australia (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/aton.jpg)). I suggest using air units capable of hitting ground units (the Allies' Vindicators, the Soviets' Twinblades, or the Rising Sun's Striker VXs/Chopper VXs). I recommend quickly destroying the enemy's Construction Yard, War Factory, and Air Field. Leave the Barracks. This will leave you with just infantry to deal with and the only real threat to your air units being the few Flak Troopers that get trained. Make sure you stay on guard just in case though, you don't want to get taken out by a stashed Kirov. The enemy will build groups of four or so Desolators and send them down to patrol, just sit back and pick them off. Once you have the achievement, you can complete the challenge or quit out.

Note: This has to be done in one challenge and does not accumulate from challenge to challenge.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1173/s4.jpgGoing Commando 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
You killed 20 Enemy Commandoes.

This is best done in the optional challenge "The Omega Program" (middle of Indian Ocean (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb218/AnimeCommander/Red%20Alert/omega.jpg)). I suggest building up base defenses while building up an attack force. I was The Rising Sun and while building up six Striker/Chopper-VXs, I put at least two base defenses on each of the access points to my area (east and west). By the time I had flown around and destroyed all three Construction Yards and all three Dojos there were 22 Yuriko Clones on the map. I then took my time hunting them down before finishing the challenge. If you sit and wait too long, you will be attacked from both sides with ever increasing amounts of Yuriko Clones. You can get the achievement by letting the enemy send enough Yuriko Clones to your base, but you might be in bad shape by the time you get it and will need to restart for completing the challenge. Another option is to wipe out two bases and only the third's Construction Yard, then just camp out side the remaining Dojo and kill Yuriko Clones as their trained. Once you have the achievement, you can complete the challenge or quit out.

Note: This has to be done in one challenge and does not accumulate from challenge to challenge.

I've received a few messages about issues converting the PC gameplay from YouTube to the 360. I did some digging and couldn't find much from the 360's point of view. I've also been asked about the par time achievement glitch and I'm intregued. I've decided to use my YouTube account to actually upload some videos. I've created an offline ID and have gotten started. You can see the one video uploaded so far for "Dead Meat". The plan is to do all the thirteen (13) main path challenges under par to glitch the completion achievement. I'll also be showing the side challenges I do in order to unlock some extra units to help with the par times. Then I'll have a test profile to work with to try to work past the glitch.

Edit: Just finished and did not have any achievement issues. Now I just need to edit a few of the videos to meet YouTube's requirements and add them to the guide.

Hi all.

Been a lifelong C&C fan, right back to the original version that I had on PC, PSone & N64 ! Anyhoo I'm working through Red Alert 3 with a friend, but when he's not available I'd like to get my teeth stuck into some more C&C action, which brings me to this game...

Just so I've got it right so I get around the glitch.
I need to complete twelve missions, under par. The last over par. Achievements Pops. Then replay last mission, get under par... achievements pops.
Complete 49 missions under par. The last over par. Achievements pops.
Then replay the 50th mission, get under par... achievements pops.

Am I right?

I still can't get past half mission 7. All the units I capture get absolutely destroyed in an instant as soon as I move toward either base. Then I have no chance. I know there is a video already that i'm being too crap to copy, but if anyone has any hints?

It's the elvel to unlock Natasha with all the husks to capture btw.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Its not to difficult to understand once you begin playing, eventually you will probably complete something under Par just through playing.

Just leave it a Silver Star Until you finish the rest of the levels.
