I just got this email from M$ this morning and I guess I am getting a refund of some sort but the funny thing is when I go over my points purchase on my credit card statement they are all for the same amount so does this mean I have been getting screwed for over a year for all of my points purchased totalling 42 out of 45 arcade titles all the oblivion expansions and everything else over the course of the life of this console???

It has recently come to our attention that some consumers who purchased Microsoft Points through Xbox LiveŽ Marketplace have received incorrect tax charges. We have identified those affected and are processing refunds on the credit card used for the purchase. This refund should appear on your credit card statement within 1-2 billing cycles.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

geeze, glad I don't buy points... I just get the ones that come with my 12 month subs

I wonder if it was across the board, or just certain areas/states. I've purchased points, but no email or refund for me as of yet!

The email does not say how much just that it will be credited back to my card in 2 to 3 billing cycles

Now would be a good time to go over to Xbox.com to update your billing and contact information (http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx) so that if you are due a credit, there won’t be any problems. Not everyone that purchased points is entitled to a refund.
Regardless, the good news is you don’t have to do anything…just sit back and wait for that credit to hit your account. As usual, we will never ask for your private information in an email, so while this is legit; be wary of other emails that ask for your personal information."

Yupp, I've heard this is real. No idea how much they're sending back though :(...
