This is my first attempt at a guide, please be nice ;). If you have any suggestions for improvement or something to add please post or PM.

Overview:
Estimated achievement difficulty: 5/10
Offline: 50 (1000http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg)
Online: 0 (0http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg)
Approximate amount of time to 1000http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg : 40+ hours
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 1/2
Number of missable achievements: 1
Glitched achievements: 3
Cheats disable achievements: No Cheats
Does difficulty affect achievements: No

If you're just going through the game for achievements you can set the difficulty to the easiest, "Casual", as there are no achievements that depend on difficulty. You can choose the difficulty right after character creation or at any time from the pause menu (:start:.) You only need to play through the game once to get most of the achievements - the reason it says "1 1/2" above is because you can get all of the achievements except Hopelessly Romantic, Blight-Queller and all of the different Origin achievements in one playthrough. After your first playthrough you just have to mop up the aforementioned achievements and any others you may have missed (which will take you about halfway through the game.)

You can save the game in certain places, choose a side, and then reload the game and pick the other - this is the easiest way to get the "sided with ____" achievements. The only one where this is a little tricky is with the Poacher and Slayer achievements. I will mention the closest place to save and get the "sided with ___" achievements below.

As of now, for the "Master of Arms","Shadow" & "Archmage" achievements (level 20 with each respective class) you do not need to play through the entire game. All you need to do is take one of each class through the origin story to Ostagar and use a leveling glitch which is described under the Archmage entry.

The one missable achievement is Stone's Lament (Stone Prisoner DLC.) You must take Shale with you while you complete "The Anvil of the Void" and "A Paragon of Her Kind." Furthermore, you must destroy the anvil at the end of these quests - otherwise you will not be able to complete this achievement in that playthrough.

The "Origin" stories are what make this game unique and provide for a number of different outcomes later in the game. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to getting these Origin story achievements - you must play through each opening story until it's over (when you and Duncan go off to Ostagar.) Each Origin story will take upwards of an hour (somewhere around 2) to complete, depending on how much you explore and quest.

This is part of the main questline and can't be missed. Once you finish your Origin story Duncan will take you to Ostagar. After some quests you will join the Grey Wardens and Ostagar will come under attack. You will be charged with lighting the beacon in a nearby tower. Once you make it to the top you must defeat an Ogre - once this is done light the signal. A cutscene will ensue and your achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/-7HPYA==.jpgStandard-Bearer 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Used the Grey Warden treaties to recruit all possible allies

You must recruit all the allies from the quests "Broken Circle, Nature of the Beast, The Arl of Redcliffe," and "A Paragon of Her Kind." It does not matter which side(s) you choose.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/-A8ioQ==.jpgHero of Redcliffe 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed "The Arl of Redcliffe"

Part of the main quest, once you complete "The Urn of Sacred Ashes" and get Ceremonialist and/or Sacreligious you must bring some of the ashes back to Arl Eamon. Once you arrive in his castle with the ashes and "talk" to his body the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/-i4rFA==.jpgRabble-Rouser 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed "The Landsmeet"

Part of the main quest, once you complete "The Arl of Redcliffe" you must return to Denerim and confront Loghain. After a series of quests leading to different areas in Denerim you will be able to participate in "The Landsmeet" where you must confront Loghain and choose Anora or Alistair to become the new ruler. Once you make your decision the achievement will unlock (who you choose does not matter.)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/-87Thw==.jpgMercenary 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Complete 15 job-board quests

You must complete 15 total quests from the following factions on their respective job boards- this can be done in any combination (ie. not all have to be from the Chantry):
Chanter's Board: You can find a Chanter's Board in the Northern part of the Denerim Market and another one is in Lothering (you will want to complete the quests in Lothering before leaving because you cannot return.)
Favors for Certain Interested Parties: You can find this job board by talking to the bartender at the inn in Denerim Market (you must ask him for jobs that aren't exactly legal.)
The Mage's Collective: You can find a job board in the North Eastern part of the Denerim Market and another in the Lake Calenhad Docks.
The Blackstone Irregulars: Found in "The Pearl" in Denerim.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/+mw4fg==.jpgRecruiter 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Across all playthroughs, recruited all party members

You must recruit the following characters (you do not need to actually put them in your party, simply convincing them to join you is enough):
Alistair, you meet him early in the game when you arrive at Ostagar.
Morrigan, she is available as a party member after her mother rescues you and Alistair from Ostagar
Mabari War Dog, at Ostagar you must finish the quest to heal the dog. After Flemeth (Morrigan's mother) rescues you and Alistair you will fast travel and he will find you (the dog can also be obtained from the Human Noble origin story.)
Leliana, you will find her in a bar at Lothering.
Sten, you will find him in a cage at Lothering. You must convince the Chantry mother to let him out - you can intimidate her, persuade her (by lying) or Leliana can convince her.
Wynne, found very early in the mage tower during the quest "Broken Circle." She is protecting the survivors.
Oghren, you find him during the quest "A Paragon of Her Kind." He is looking for his wife Branka and will assist you in finding her.
Zevran, he will find you. Later on in the main quest you will be fast-travelling alot and in one of these travels Zevran will find you. Loghain has hired him to kill you and once you hinder Zevran in his attempt he offers to join you.
Loghain, at the end of "The Landsmeet" quest you must decide whether to make Loghain into a Grey Warden or not (meaning you must side with Anora or Alistair.) You must side with Anora (Alistair will leave if you let Loghain live) and Loghain will join your party.

Shale is not needed for this achievement.

Crap - I forgot to make placeholders :/

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/+4zA7Q==.jpgHopelessly Romantic 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Across all playthroughs, experienced all possible romances

This achievement is pretty straightforward because you will obtain it as you are working on all the other romance achivements listed below. You must play through enough of the game with two characters of the opposite sex and "experience the thrill of romance" with Alistair (female characters only), Zevran (male or female characters), Morrigan (male characters only) and Leliana (male or female characters.) It's easy to get 2 romance achievements in one playthrough - possibly 3, but you will always have least one left (Alistair or Leliana.) Just in case, you will probably want to save your game before actually sleeping with any given character (then reload and sleep with another) because some people have reported that once they have slept with one they cannot sleep with another (although this wasn't a problem for me.)

To experience all of the romances you should talk to these characters as much as possible to gain their approval (it's pretty easy - just follow their cues), give them gifts, take them with you while questing so that you can take their advice when they give it (upping your approval), and complete quests that they ask you to do (some of these will be activated by giving them the appropriate gift.)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/+a3JWA==.jpgPerfectionist 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Across all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings

The easiest way to get all of the endings is to create a save before entering the Royal Palace, where the Landsmeet occurs. At the end of "The Landsmeet" questline you will enter the courtyard of the Royal Palace and you will be confronted by a supporter of Loghain - after you resolve the situation (either by killing her or by persuading her to move out of the way) you need to save the game before entering the palace. Once you enter you must to save Loghain or choose Alistiar for the throne - this is where all of the different endings branch off. "The Final Battle" quest beings as soon as the Landsmeet ends and all you have to do is run through to the end of the game and get the different endings listed below:

1. Agree to sleep with Morrigan in Redcliffe and have her child (you must have her in your party - do not leave her behind to guard the gate.)
2. Sacrifice yourself to save everyone else.
3. Allow Alistair to sacrifice himself (you must have him in your party - do not leave him behind to guard the gate.)
4. Allow Loghain to sacrifice himself (you must have him in your party - do not leave him behind to guard the gate.)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UP9H5fY=.jpgEducated 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Used a tome to improve the main character's attributes, talents, spells, or skills

If you have the collector's edition of the game you can simply redeem the corresponding code and when you start the game use the tome. For everyone else you will have to buy a tome off of a vendor (the Tranquil mage at the "Wonders of Thedas" in the Denerim Market often has one) or find one. Unlike what the achievement desciption says, the tome does not have to be used on your main character - just someone in your current pary.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UP1m7EM=.jpgMagic Sympathizer 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with the mages in "Broken Circle"

For Magic Sympathizer, save after the boss fight at the top of Circle Tower before you talk to the Mage lying on the floor. Talk to the mage and tell him to take you back to the templars. Once you arrive, side with the mage (do not kill him or let the templars arrest him.)

Although not necessary, it helps if you loot the "Litany of Andralla" from the floor below (after you fought the Sloth Demon and escaped the Fade.) During the boss fight at the top of the tower the boss will try to transform the mages into Abominations. You can prevent this by using the Litany. To use the Litany press LT for the radial menu, go to "Advanced Tactics" and select the Litany to activate it. To save the mages activate the Litany as a pillar of light and a circle surround the individual mages sitting on the floor (you will have to do this multiple times to save all the mages.) If all the mages die you will not be able to get Magic Sympathizer. The reason this strategy is not "necessary" is because you can save all the mages by simply beating the boss before he is able to transform all of them.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPjEB7o=.jpgAnnulment Invoker 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with the templars in "Broken Circle"

Reload the save you used for Magic Sympathizer but his time you can kill him or let the templars arrest him.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPkk-yk=.jpgSlayer 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with the werewolves in "Nature of the Beast"
See Poacher.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPsF9pw=.jpgPoacher 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with the elves in "Nature of the Beast"

These achievements are little confusing because you can listen to the werewolf leader and end the curse - but if you do you will still have technically sided with the elves because you now have an elven army.

Once you reach the "Lair of the Werewolves" in "Nature of the Beast" you will enter a room, fight a few werewolves, and walk down a corridor (the game should autosave before you open the door at the end of this hall.) You need to save at this point. You can check and see if this is the right spot to save by opening the door (you should see werewolves stading in this room waiting for you) - but do not enter the room. Once you enter you will meet the leader of the werewolves and you must have enough persusion to convince her to go kill the elves (for Slayer.) Otherwise, you can either help her end the curse or kill the werewolves - either way you will get Poacher.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPrlDg8=.jpgSacrilegious 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with the Cult of Andraste in "The Urn Of Sacred Ashes"

When doing the "Urn of Sacred Ashes" quest you will come across a cult to Andraste in the Frostback Mountains - do not kill them. They will ask you to put blood in the urn, agree. When you have finished the Gauntlet (before you walk up the stairs to the Urn of Sacred Ashes) save the game. Now walk up the stairs and put the blood in the Urn (be prepared for a fight if you took Wynne and Leliana with you because they will turn on you along with the Urn's guard.)

It is also worth noting that at this point, in one of your playthroughs, you must kill the cultists and ring the gong outside the cavern (on the peak) to summon the dragon and get the Dragonslayer achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPnCGgE=.jpgCeremonialist 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Defied the Cult of Andraste in "The Urn of Sacred Ashes"

Reload the save that you used for Sacreligious but this time do not put the blood in the Urn.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPgi4pI=.jpgBhelen's Ally 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with Bhelen in "A Paragon of Her Kind"

See Pragmatist.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPucD1M=.jpgHarrowmont's Ally 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Sided with Harrowmont in "A Paragon of Her Kind"

See Pragmatist.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPm9BuY=.jpgLiberator 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Destroyed the Anvil of the Void

You can get these achievements two at a time because they are all very close together. After encountering Oghren's wife, Branka, she will use you to get to the Anvil of the Void. After fighting a pillar-like object that summons spirits you will come across a doorway with three chests (you should further be alerted that this is the spot because the game will autosave.) Even though it autosaved you need to save the game at this point. Walk forward and kill the golem Paragon Caridin (for Pragmatist) or Branka (for Liberator.) After this is done whoever you sided with will make you a crown and you will return to Orzammar where you must decide who becomes the new king (Bhelen for Bhelen's Ally or Harrowmont for Harrowmont's Ally.) Load your save and get the achievements you didn't get the first time around.

Note that if you have "The Stone Prisoner" DLC and wish to complete Stone's Lament you must have Shale with you and you must destroy the Anvil of the Void (just do everything Caridin asks.)

You can easily get this right at the start of the game if you use the leveling glitch. Get your Rogue to level 25 (max) and load up on ranged talents and Dexterity. Walk back into the forest and use "Arrow of Slaying" on the first enemy you see to generate an auto-critical (if it hits.) You should do around 750 damage and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPwf7R8=.jpgBloodied 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed an origin story without the main character ever falling in battle

This is pretty straightforward - don't let your main character die until you get to Ostagar. If you're playing on "Casual" this should be no problem at all.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UP4+5Ko=.jpgTraveler 35 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Set foot in every area in the game

As of now, the "Master of Arms","Shadow" & "Archmage" achievements (level 20 with each respective class) are glitched. All you need to do is take one of each class through the origin story to Ostagar:
Duncan will ask you to get 3 vials of Darkspawn Blood and a scroll. Obtain all the Blood but do not get the scroll. Return to Duncan and tell him "We have the blood, but not the scrolls." You will get experience for this and you can keep doing it until you get to level 20.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPrWNxM=.jpgPilgrim 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed a Chanter's Board quest

You should get this while working on Mercenary. The first Chantry board is located in Lothering (after the battle of Ostagar.) Once you turn in your first quest it will unlock.

There is no shortcut to getting the "Killed _____ darkspawn" achievements. However, you will easily kill 500+ in your first playthrough if you're going for all the achievements. Your kills carry over across multiple characters and you should easily get this about halfway through your second playthrough (while you get the romance and origin achievements you missed your first time through.) Once you have beaten the game and started playing through all the origins you should get this by the time you're done (if not, you have to play a little bit into the game anyway for the romance achivements.) You should easily get these if you're going for all the achivements.

To see how many darkspawn you have killed - use the Back button menu, scroll to Heroic Accomplishments, then Party Accomplishments, then find "darkspawn kills" in the list - tally this up across you characters to see your progress.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPow0js=.jpgTinkerer 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Crafted an item

You can easily get this achievement once you (or a party member) has "Herbalism" or "Trap-making." Open up the quick-menu with LT and select the corresponding menu with the item you want to craft - if the character you are currently using can craft such an item you will see the craft ability on the left side of the appropriate menu. As soon as you make your first item the achivement will unlock.

These achievements are pretty straightforward - but your character will need 16 cunning (to max out the persuade talent) and, if you're going for the "Intimitate" achievements, a moderate amount of strength. For this reason it is easiest if you simply increase a warrior's cunning to 16 and then play through the game normally (if you're using the leveling glitch - maxing out the persuade talent and having enough strength shouldn't be a problem.) The phrase "difficult attempts" doesn't really mean anything - any successful attempt will do. These achivements do not track across multiple characters.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/UPn7Jag=.jpgElite 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Main character learned two specializations

At level 7 and then level 14 you will be given the chance to learn specilizations (you will gain a "specialization point" at those levels and it will stay with you through subsequent levels until you spend it.) However, first you must find their trainers and convince them to teach you - or find a book that will teach you. You can "learn" specializations for classes other than your main character's. Once you unlock a specialization it stays unlocked for all the characters on your profile (and all party members on all your characters.) The specilizations and the ways to get them are listed below:

Warrior:
Berserker: Oghren can teach you if your approval is high enough or you can learn from Gorim at the Denerim Market.
Champion: At the very end of "The Urn of Sacred Ashes" questline you will learn this from Arl Eamon.
Reaver: You can learn from Kolgrim at the Wyrmling Lair (he is a member of the Cult of Andraste - the one you meet when you do the Sacreligious and/or Ceremonialist achievments)
Templar: You can learn this from Alistair if you approval is high enough - or you can buy the book from Bodahn in the Party Camp.

Rogue:
Ranger: You can buy the book from Bodahn in the Party Camp.
Bard: You can learn from Leliana if your approval is high enough or from Alimar in Orzammar.
Duelist: You can learn from Isabella at "The Pearl" in Denerim.
Assassin: You can learn from Zevran if your approval is high enough or in Alarith's Store (after "The Landsmeet" questline has started.)

Mage:
Blood Mage: You can learn this from the desire demon in the fade (in the "Arl of Redcliffe" questline.)
Arcane Warrior: You can learn this from The Presence at the Brecilian Ruins (in the "Nature of the Beast" questline.)
Shapeshifter: You can learn this from Morrigan if your approval is high enough or from Varathorn at the Dalish Camp.
Spirit Healer: You can learn this from Wynn if your approval is high enough, buy the book at the "Wonders of Thedas" shop in the Denerim Market (the same one where you can usually buy a tome for the Educated achievment) or if you have the Warden's Keep DLC you can purchase the book from a trader in the keep after completing the questline.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1057/+TQwlw==.jpgMaster of the Peak 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed ''Soldier's Peak'' (Warden’s Keep DLC)

If you have any of the DLC then you can travel to the areas and start the questlines as soon as you are able to open the world map (after you have been to the Party Camp, right after Lothering) - DLC locations will be gold as opposed to the locations in the "core" game.

To first obtain the questline "Soldier's Peak" you must talk to a man in your Party Camp named Levi Dryden. He will inform you of the location of the keep and tells you that he will meet you there. Once you arrive you realise that there is a tear in the Veil which is releasing demons - you must close it to regain the keep. There are a few ways to do this which include bargaining with a demon who is possessing Levi's grandmother, having Avernus help you close the tear, etc. Any of these solutions will work and once you have closed the Veil the achievement will unlock.

You do not need to do anything to activate this DLC quest (unlike Master of the Peak) - it will be available to you as soon as you are able to open up the world map and fast travel. Like Soldier's Peak, the location for this quest (Sulcher's Pass) will be a different color than the locations from the core game.

Once you arrive in the pass the merchant there gives you the quest "The Golem of Honnleath" and a "Control Rod." Once you arrive in Honnleath you must battle darkspawn until you come to where the golem stands. The merchant didn't give you the correct phrase to activate the golem so you'll have to find a past owner. Nearby is a door to Wilhelm's building - enter. Once you fight through some more enemies you will come across a barrier - activate this barrier by selecting it and pressing "A." Once the barrier is gone you will aproach a man who knows the phrase that activates the golem - however, he wants you to find his daughter. You can either intimidate him or agree to go search for her (she is not far away.) If you agree, simply go down a few corridors where you will find the girl with a demon cat by her side. Resolve the situation any way you see fit (rescue the girl , allow the demon to take her, etc.) and return to the man. Either way he will tell you the password and now you can exit via a nearby ladder. Now that you have the correct password all you have to do is activate the golem and the achivement is yours once the conversation is over.

After you meet the Cult of Andraste you will exit the cavern and come out on the peak of the mountain - if you did not agree to help the cult then you will be able to ring a gong that summons the High Dragon (the being that the cultists believe is the reincarnation of Andraste.) If you sided with the Cult it is not possible to use the gong.

Once you begin "The Final Battle" questline you will have the option to call in reinforcements from the groups that you sided with earlier. To have the option to summon these troops you must have donated to the different factions at the Party Camp earlier in the game. Once you enter Denerim and gain the ability to summon the troops just make sure that you don't lose more than half of each different faction.

While working on Master of the Peak you will enter Avernus's Tower (at the top of the keep.) You will come across an "Alchemical Concoction" on the table in one of the first rooms once you enter the tower. Drinking this potion is an "evil" action so save the game before you drink it if you're a "good" character. Once you drink it the achievement will unlock.

Take Shale with you as you go to Orzammar and complete "A Paragon of Her Kind" and "The Anvil of the Void." You must choose to destroy the anvil. Afterwards, if you talk to Shale he will tell you to go to "Cadash Thaig." Once you arrive at the Thaig and fight your way through the ruins you will come upon the "Golem Monument." Once you activate it (with the "A" button) Shale will start to talk - once the dialogue is over the achivement will unlock.

I'm liking what you have in here so far.Good amount of detail in the descriptions and that heavy hitter tip sounds golden. For a first guide,it's very good indeed.Keep working on it!

If you're just going through the game for achievements you can set the difficulty to the easiest, "Casual", as there are no achievements that depend on difficulty. You can choose the difficulty right after character creation or at any time from the pause menu (:start:.) You only need to play through the game once to get most of the achievements - the reason it says "1 1/2" above is because you can get all of the achievements except Hopelessly Romantic, the persuade and/or intimidate achievements, and Blight-Queller in one playthrough. After your first playthrough you just have to mop up the aforementioned achievements (which will take you about halfway through the game.)

Are you saying you can't get both of these in one playthrough because you can and i did.

I know you can, I said so under my desciption for those achivements. I simply need to update that part of my guide, which I am doing as we speak.
Thank you for pointing that out nonetheless.

Thanks,
I doubt it will ever get stickied because, since it was my first time, I didn't know about the right process (I had no idea I would need that many placeholders - which makes the guide look jumbled.) You live and you learn I guess...

I'm glad that I helped at least a few people.

Guthmund:
Why should I change the overview to say 3 complete playthroughs?
I don't see what the quote you mentioned has to do with that - if you use the leveling glitch you don't have to play through the entire game.

You misunderstand. Or maybe I wasn't clear.

The other guy was arguing that you had to do multiple playthroughs to get these achievements. I was quoting your guide that stated you did not. I also implied that he could do as he liked and play 3 different playthroughs (and implied that I likely would anyway), but it wasn't necessary to get the achievements.

Oh, I'm sorry - I did misunderstand.

Far more detailed and structured yes. Here's a little tidbit of info for your guide:

For the Grey Warden, Master Warden, and Blight-Queller achievements, it counts the amount of Darkspawn killed across all your characters, and should have said "Across all playhtroughs" in the achievement description like some others. Too see how many Darkspawn you have killed, check the Back button menu, scroll right to Heroic Accomplishments, then Party Accomplishments, then at kills in the list. Tally this up between your characters.

A quick fix for killing Darkspawn is to start the Dwarf Noble origins story, or play through to Ostagar and the Wilds or Tower part there.

Also, as one recently having done a guide for x360a too, I might suggest starting a new thread, reserving atleast 10 posts (for coming DLC content and other - RPG's are space hungry), and get a "fresh start". I'd rather take a well written guide than a "See x" guide any day.

This thread (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=188619) has some interesting observations and clues. Seems you can't have them both at the same time and have to break it off with one.

Ellusion,
I thought about starting a new thread (putting all the posts at the top like they should be, etc.) But perhaps the mods would get angry? If they wouldn't mind I'd do it just to make the guide more readable...

Kevineh33,
I don't know what to tell you.
In both of my playthroughs I was easily able to sleep with 2 characters at the same time (though it was always at the same campsite, at the same time - before I left.)
I have noticed that, even if your approval rating is high, sometimes you simply must complete every available conversation option with a character (sometimes you must talk to them and they will ask you a question, once you exit you can talk to them again and they will ask you another - and so on.) Also, some characters will agree that they want a relationship - but they won't be ready to "take the next step" (Alistair and Leliana) while Zevran and Morrigan will sleep with you at the first opportunity.
I suggested keeping a save before sleeping with any given character because some people say that once they sleep with one they can't sleep with another. If the first options don't work, try that.
Hope this helps.
