Introduction:

Welcome to Bioware's Epic game: Dragon age Origins. This guide/road map have been put together (so far) by me, Sporty Flea. I am writing this guide for YOU, so if YOU don't like it, either help to improve it in some way, constructive criticism, or by adding to the guide. What YOU should not do is say “this guide sux” (crappy internet spelling intended). I am going to be working on this guide tirelessly, but as of now there are still quite a few unknowns, and I will need YOUR help, to complete this guide in the greatness it was intended to be ;)

Also, as should be noted with guides/roadmaps, spoilers ARE involved, read on at your own risk!

Missable Achievements:

This is an important note. Depending on how you end the game, you may not be able to play your character anymore, and if you can, you will be very limited. So assume that once you beat it, you will not be able to play anymore! Finish everything you need to before the "Landsmeet" quest.

Glitched Achievements:

*Note the DLC achievements are on xbox.com now, and should be working correctly.

1st Playthrough:

*See below for the alternate playthrough method, if you wish to complete the game as quickly as possible*

Each play through is pretty linear, for your first one however, you will want to make sure that you get your character to lvl 20, and kill as many darkspawn as you can throughout the game. To achieve both of these, complete as many side quests as you can, and complete all of the chanter board quests, mage circle quests, black stone irregular quests, and "illegal" quests you stumble upon for Mercenary (20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif)

The main bulk of achievements are awarded for choosing one storyline path vs another, so in this play through, it won't matter what path you chose, you will gain achievements either way.

2nd Playthrough:

Pick a different class, and origin story, a different sex, and when faced with each important storyline decision that rewards achievements, choose the opposite faction/person/whatever to side with, to get all the storyline achievements.

3rd Playthrough:

Pick the last class you haven't played, and another origin story. Get to level 20.

Clean up:

Start new characters and play through their origin stories to finish up the game!

Alternate Playthrough method:

This playthrough method is for those who wish to complete the game as fast as humanly possible. I put this as alternate because you will miss a lot of this games greatness by doing this, and the amount of saving/reloading you do will be tiring, however, it is here.

The concept of this playthrough, is for you to save before every storyline event (described in detail throughout the guide), continue down path A, get the achievement, and then reload the past saved file, and follow path B this time, giving you both storyline achievements in a single playthrough. For the "Landsmeet" you must save prior to the actual meeting, as you will need to follow both paths that the quest gives you, in order to achieve the games four possible endings.

I suggest for this playthrough starting a female warrior. Female to romance Alistar, Lelina, and Zevran. Morrigan, (romance-able by males only) is in my opinion the easiest to romance. Playing as a warrior to best achieve "Heavy Hitter".

Use this (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=187903) leveling trick to level to 25, and complete all the side quests you can, while following the save/reload concept described earlier. This strategy will make your single playthrough take much longer than normal, but will reduce the overall amount time spent on the game be quite a lot.

Clean up the rest of achievements by starting a male of any other class, and romance Morrigan.

Then start a character of the last class you haven't played yet, get him to 20, and then finish up the origin stories, and you are done!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1057/+mw4fg==.jpgRecruiter 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Across all playthroughs, recruited all party members

To get this you must recruit each party member, at least once, throughout all of your playthroughs.

They are:

Alistar: Storyline related.

Morrigan: Storyline related.

Dog: Human noble recruits him in his origin story, the rest must complete the quest the “Mabari hound” and follow the dialog prompts to accept him to your party. These prompts however, happen after Ostagar, on your way to Lothering, when the dog joins your party.

Leliana: She is in the Lothering tavern, and will aid you in a bar fight, just follow the dialog to accecpt her to your party. She is missable if you pass Lothering without entering the tavern!

Sten: Also in Lothering, and also miss able. He is in a cage on your way out of town. Complete the quest “The Qunari Prisoner” and follow the dialog.

Shale: Is in the “Stone prisoner” DLC (*Note: you do not need shale to get this achievement). Once you download the DLC, follow the plotline and dialog, you will receive him.

Oghren: He is storyline related to the Anvil of the Void quest in Ostagar. You can't miss him.

Wynne: Is in the “Circle Tower”. You should avoid killing her, when given the option, follow the dialog to gain her as an ally.

Zevran: He will, eventually (storyline related), try to ambush and assassinate you. Once killing him and his group, you are given the option to spare his life, if you do, you may have him join your party.

and *spoiler*

Loghain: this is story related, you must accept him into the Grey Wardens to get him.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1057/+4zA7Q==.jpgHopelessly Romantic 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Across all playthroughs, experienced all possible romances

To get this, you have to play at least once as a Male character and once as a Female one.

You must romance:

Alistair (F only) (Good)
Leliana (accessible to both M + F) (Good)
Morrigan (M only) (Evil)
Zevran (accessible to both M + F) (Evil)

Best means to gain favor:

Give gifts they like (http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Gifts)
Talk with them in your campsite, follow prompts to improve your relationship (save before you do just in case you screw up)
Take them with you on your journeys, and follow their ethical code as closely as possible.

Link to the Romance guide is here. (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=189102)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1057/+a3JWA==.jpgPerfectionist 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Across all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings

*More LARGE spoilers*

There are 4 endings in total:
1) where you agree with morrigan.
2) when you sacrifice yourself at the end.
3) where you let allistar sacrifice himself.
4) where you let logain sacrifice himself.

*credit goes to sinlessdeeds

*Note: to get all 4 endings in one playthrough, you must save your game before you have the "Landsmeet".

Used a tome to improve the main character's attributes, talents, spells, or skills

Tomes can be found in the game, however most of them are sold by many of the venders. Simply find a vender currently selling one, purchase it, go into your “Usable items” menu, and use it.

*Note, if you can't seem to find a tome, your vender at your campsite should sell one. If you don't know what I am talking about you are not at that point in the game yet. :p

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1057/UPjEB7o=.jpgAnnulment Invoker 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Sided with the templars in "Broken Circle"

Throughout the fight, the Sloth Demon will occasionally call out and large circles will appear on a mage. This is very bad if you want "Magic Sympathizer", this circle begins to transform mages into abominations and will force you down the Annulment Invoker achievement should you take too much time. To guarantee the "Magic Sympathizer" achievement you need to access your Radial Menu (LT button) and access the Advanced Menu, use the litany right beside the mage and it'll cancel the transformation.(Or if you are having a hard time using the litany, you can set the game to easy and kill the boss quickly, thus saving the mages)

After killing the sloth, you should enter a dialog with one of the mages, choose to look around a bit more, save, then speak with him again. Killing/Imprisoning will side with the Templars, and freeing them will side with the Mages.

Main character inflicted 250 damage with a single hit

One method:
Use the Berserker's "Final Blow" Skill after being buffed by Wynne's Heroic Offense spell.

Best attempted at level 25, with a large amount of Strength and Willpower, along with a big enchanted weapon (and on easy ;))

Another method:
Playing as a rogue I went the archery way and had Aim, Master Archer, and used Arrow of Slaying on a grunt enemy and hit them for around 600-700 damage.

Killed 1000 darkspawn

*Note, even though it won't show it in your quest log, darkspawn kills carry over, from each playthrough, so you do not need to reach 1000 in a single playthrough, so you should get this somewhere earlyish in your second.

The best method (to complete this in one playthrough) to achieve this is to do every quest, travel as much as you can (hope you get ambushed), and explore as much as you can. You will kill a rough estimate of 200 darkspawn, in the final battle so make sure you are close to 700-800 before initiating the “Landsmeet”

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1057/UPow0js=.jpgTinkerer 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg
Crafted an item

To do this, you only need a character with the herbalism ability (Morrigan), to make a single potion. However, trap-making, and poison-making, both will work for this achievement. To access these abilities, select the character you wish to use, and open up the radial menu, selecting either herbalism, trap-making, or poison-making respectively.

*Note: For those confused, you must acquire the below specializations associated with your class, before you are able to assign a specialization point into that field. You get 1 point at level 7, and one more at 14. Each time you level up after that, the game gives you another chance to spend your points.

Defeated the Archdemon and, through a dark ritual with Morrigan, spared your own life

After the Landsmeet, the night before the final battle in Denerim, Morrigan will approach you and offer you the dark ritual mentioned in the description. Take it, and beat the game.

To get this achievement, when Morrigan offers her “easy way out” (very close to the final battle, the night before it takes place) you have to turn her away. When prompted at the end of the game, sacrifice yourself.

During the Urn of Sacred Ashes questline, there is a snowy path that will eventually lead you to the guardian. At the start of that path however, is a gong, that you are unable to ring at that time. After the quest is completed however, come back out, and ring it.

Preserved the lives of half the troops at Denerim's Gates in "The Final Battle"

The most surefire way to do this currently is to set the game on easy, (if it isn't already) during the fight for the town, and either not using your troops, or protecting them so that few die.

You need to take shale with you when you do the Anvil of the void Quest, and choose to destroy the anvil. Then when the quest ends there will be a side quest for Shale called " A Golem's Memories" complete that and you will net the secret achievement for The Stone Prisoner DLC.

And I would say this has a lot more comic relief than oblivion did, but it is still pretty serious, in fact more serious when it comes to the ethical choices you must make.

originally posted by sinlessdeeds...Actually you can get all of the endings in one playthrough because i did it. you have to make a few saves. one save before the part when you have to choose if your going to make logain a grey warden thus losing allistar in ur party, or keep allister and punish logain for his crimes. u need an ending with each choice making sure they are always in ur party. the next save u want to make is before you go to redcliffe in the final quest. morrigan will be in your bedroom and she will propose a way out. say yes to her and thats another ending. just thought this should be added as well

Can anyone confirm if the only way to side with the wolves in Slayer is to persuade the Lady of the Land to attack the elves? This is what I have been told and I tried it but apparently my warrior isn't high enough to do so and in the end got the same result after fighting Zathvarian

Also, if the DLC achievements are indeed fixed... you may want to include how to repair them for people who got them before they were working properly.

IE: do you have to recover your gamertag, and then do those sections over with a new character, or what?

The other important miss able quest is Mercenary(20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif). The town Lothering becomes inaccessible shortly into the game, make sure to complete all the board quests there before leaving. (the number of quests being 3)

I only finished one of the quests in lothering and still got the Mercenary achievement later on in the game. I'm not sure if I did 15 exactly or if i did one or two more after I got the achievement.

With the siding achievements, you can get both sides within one playthrough, just save before the choices made and reload the saved game after the achievement is unlocked.
As for when to save *SPOILERS*:

Werewolves/Elves Arc
Save before (or is it after, I seem to have forgotten) speaking to Swiftrunner about meeting the spirit. Then make the choice to kill the elves or the werewolves to unlock either achievement. (Not sure if you need to choose the intimidate/persuade option to unlock it)

Sided/Defied Cult Arc
When confronting Kolgrim before the trial, agree to help him destroy the ashes in which he will hand over a vial of blood to you (Don't worry, you can still defy him when you reach the urn). Save before touching the urn, then you have the choice of taking some of the ashes or pouring blood into it which will unlock both achievements.

Destroy/Preserve Anvil Arc
Save after the fight with the 4 headed head or whatever it seemed to be. And you should be given the option to side with Branka (Preserve) or Cailidin(SP? Destroy). and either will unlock.

Bhelen/Harrowmont Arc
RIGHT after the Anvil arc you should be given an opportunity to save and then travel to Orzammar to choose one of them as a king.

Broken Circle Arc
After killing the sloth, you should enter a dialog with one of the mages (the name is a blur at the moment), choose to look around a bit more, save, then speak with him again. Killing/Imprisoning will side with the Templars, and freeing them will side with the Mages.

*END SPOILERS*

Hopefully that helped everyone and saves some time from another playthrough though the game probably needs more than one for the full 1000.

Across all playthroughs, recruited all party members

To get this you must recruit each party member, at least once, throughout all of your play throughs.

Lelina: She is in the Lothering tavern, and will aid you in a bar fight, just follow the dialog to accecpt her to your party.

Loghain: this is story related, you will know what to do :p

The first time i encountered Zevran i let him live. When i saw that made Morrigan and Allistair disapprove i loaded a save and chose to kill him. When i finished landsmeet and went against Allistair and recruited the final guy I still unlocked this achievement.

maybe add the xp glitch in there so that people know they dont have do 3 playthroughs for each class/ can get to level 25 before the game even really begins. If possible add the points in which you should save so that you can get all possible achievements in 1 playthrough except the ending and romance achieves. Although i have a thought about the ending achieve, i have seen 3 of them with one character by doing different saves, why this is interesting is i beat the game and had around 600 darkspawn kills. then the second time i beat the game (loaded earlier save) i got 1000 darkspawn kills in the battle of denerim. So the game has an alternate saving method like mass effect had where it tracks and saves stats. i still need to have allistar sacrifice himself. so when i do watch that ending i will inform of what happens, achieve or no.

Main character inflicted 250 damage with a single hit

One method:
Use the Berserker's "Final Blow" Skill after being buffed by Wynne's Heroic Offense spell.

I tried the method listed, and at level 17 as a warrior templar/beserker with a 2h, I only hit for around 140. What did you do to beef it up so much? Is it just a matter of having a lot of willpower?

Killed 1000 darkspawn

*Note, even though it won't show it in your quest log, darkspawn kills carry over, from each playthrough, so you do not need to reach 1000 in a single playthrough, so you should get this somewhere earlyish in your second.

The best method (to complete this in one playthrough) to achieve this is to do every quest, travel as much as you can (hope you get ambushed), and explore as much as you can. You will kill a rough estimate of 200 darkspawn, in the final battle so make sure you are close to 700-800 before initiating the “Landsmeet”

I got this achievement on my first playthrough. I checked my codex and it says i've only killed 889 darkspawn. My guess is if your party wipes out and you have to load the last save the darkspawn you've killed before you died still go towards the final count.

Yeah, I put quite a few points into Willpower and after every level I would attempt it again. I had 46 strength and around 35 willpower when I got it. Wasn't even using a 2h, either. Aodh (1h axe, 9 base dmg, +1 fire, +4 elec with glyphs). Hit for 252 total.

Because now that microsoft has fixed their mistake, the number of people interested in that information will decrease daily. I would have to add quite a bit extra, to explain the whole situation, and would add unnecessarily confusion to the road map, as I said, I would be more than happy to link to a thread that details the entire solution, legitimate solution fixed, because so far all I have seen are a lot of mixed reports coming from people, about what does and doesn't work.

My rogue is 22 atm but all you need is a dex of 28 (Master Archer needs that minimum) and 30 Strength and you shouldn't have a problem with it. When you use the AoS try to hit the weakest guy since the stronger ones can resist the attack. Mage enemies have no defense so if you shoot them with it you have an even better shot at hitting them.

Dear sir. You are obviously new to the site so let me explain something. Or quite a few somethings.

1) This guide was posted 2 hours after yours.
2) When you posted yours, it had about 1/3 of the entire achievements posted, while mine was only lacking the DLC achievements.
3) This guide has a quality roadmap.
4) I cite my sources, and since I never felt the need to use anything you posted, you did not get cited.

Let me be frank. Since you seem intent on personal attacks. I followed xbox360a standards for posting this thread, you very much so did not. I informed them that I was working on this (before you posted yours mind you), so if you had looked there you could have seen you didn't need to bother. That is procedure. The style in which I presented the guide is also following procedure, which is why yours could never get sticked. We are writing this for the public, not for our own fame.

So before you try and attack the person helping out the community by spending hours of his own time writing a guide by their standards, maybe next time you should read the standards, follow them, and then you won't be in this situation.

If you feel my guide is lacking seriously, and would like to help, I will be more than happy to cite you. Besides that, please stop spreading lies about me.

Have a nice day.

Things you blatantly copied from my guide and the reason I know you copied them:

"Alternate playthough method"
1. Mine was posted first.
2. Your "method" was not edited into your guide until a full 48 hours after my version first appeared in my thread.

"Mercenary"
1. Your first version had a something about how you couldn't miss the Lothering Chantry board when it was first posted.
2. The minute the first version of my guide was posted it included the exact things which you have just edited into yours - a full 24 hours before you edited yours.

The first version of my guide included detailed instructions about how the "party" achievement worked and I verified that Shale was not needed. 24 hours or so later very similar things were edited into yours.

Also, all of the "alternate methods" and save points (about 60% of our guides) that you have just edited into your guide appeared in my guide a full 24 hours before you edited them into yours.

You sir have plagiarised a significant portion of my work. No, that is not a "personal attack" - it is an observable fact. I never said that I wanted everyone to recognize me, but you have plagiarised a substantial part of a guide that I have created and I have to call you out on it - that has nothing to do with my recognition.

Each time I post something in my guide a slightly different version appears within a 24 hour peroid edited into yours, this is not a coincidence.

Like I said, I am new to making guides - this was my first and since I didn't see one in the forum I thought that I'd make one to help everyone out. I was not aware of all the protocol that went into making one - this is the only thing that is my fault and I freely admit that. However, a large portion of my work is consistently being plagiarised by you - and you take all the credit. Needless to say, after I'm done, I doubt I will be creating any more.

I hope before you make another, you should understand this. This issue comes up quite a few times. There are many games that have multiple guides written, and one person always feel wronged.

I posted everything I did in my guide due to feedback and requests. If you want the honest truth, I would never use anything you wrote, because when I first saw your guide, I realized how poorly it was constructed.

You can imagine anything you want, but what you seem to forget, is that when two guides are made on the same subject, expecting both to look different is ridiculous. If you feel like I stole material from you than you can sit in your house and fume as much as you want.

I didn't. I wouldn't, because I had no faith in your guide or its material. However, I can't prove any of that, and thus is the nature of the internet.

I'm not going to pick sides on the guide plaguirism debate but I will say one thing that might help anyone in future.Always write your guide up before you post it.So many people at the moment are posting only the first few achievements and calling it a guide. Many plan on working on the guide and will update it over the coming days. This however leads to it looking disorganised sometimes and doesn't set things off to the best start.

With a game like DA,it'd take weeks to fully write a guide before posting but just list all the achievements and put a brief explanation in for them. This at least shows that you have shown the first level of dedication to writing a complete and comprehensive guide.

At the end of the day, whoever writes the most concise and accurate guide will be the one who gets stickied so don't feel put off.Just try and get more content in before making that first post and 9 times out of 10,you'll be fine. This is the single biggest reason why these things happen.

I must also say I think you both are working well with the guides so please carry on.

Also,to add,you can buy spirit healer from the trader in the Warden's Keep DLC after securing the tower :)

You're right, no one can prove intention. I can never know whether you posted your guide then saw mine and purposefully plagiarised parts of it- that is only what I suppose happened.

However, there is one thing we can be certain of - and that is the fact a version of "your" alternate method appeared in my guide at 11:25 AM on the 6th (verified by a quote in my thread referencing it.) Whereas the version you included in your guide appeared in yours around 10:57 PM on the next day (verified by your own post.)

That proves that you intentionally (or mistakenly) copied, at least, that portion of my guide.

I don't see how you could have mentioned the exact same methods as me after I posted my guide without having copied me. Information that I used for those 10+ achievements was in my guide long before yours - you used the exact same strategies I mentioned and changed a few words. I see your point about guides being similar - but cmon.

I don't think I can factually prove any of my other claims of plagiarism besides the aforementioned - I should have taken a screenshot, next time I will.

EDIT:
The proof that the entire "alternate method" that you later edited into your post was all posted by me long before you is further evidenced by a poster in this very thread stating "all of that has been posted before - and with better desciptions." I believe you can find that at the top of the second page.

The "alternate method" section of your guide was suggested by someone at the bottom of the first page - however, that same person also informed you (before you updated it with the exact information from my guide) that the information was already thought of and included in a guide elsewhere, which means you were always privy to the information and you either:

1. Did not read your thread and magically came up with the exact same strategies that I used on 10+ achievements (including save spots, etc.)

or

2. Did read your feedback and noticed that someone had posted that such information was already posted in detail elsewhere before you and you found it and copied it (explaining why it's the same as mine with different wording.)

Thank you for this enlightening post. However, I fear we get further and further off topic as this conversation carries on. I said what I needed to say and I won't be bothering anyone in this thread any longer (or responding to posts like the one above.)

That is, unless the update that I posted in my guide about how your main character doesn't need to use a tome to unlock the Educated achivement mysteriously appears over here ;).

Hey all. I have two (or three) questions.

I don't have the game yet.

I've read that when you take Loghain into your party, Alistair will leave you. Is it possible to save, take Loghain, get the achievement (I also dunno what across all playthroughs means. If I started only one game then finish it I will get it?) and then reload the save. Will I get it?

Same question goes for the Perfectionist.

Btw. I will be good, and I was thinking about a party.

Warrior - me
Warrior - Alistair
Mage - Wynne
Rogue - Leliana

Would that work?

From what I read, you can save before the Landsmeet, and choose to make Loghain a Warden, then receive the achievement then load up your old game and take Alistair instead.

For the Perfectionist achievement, not sure if it's 100% accurate but I'll test it later today, but you can possibly keep that save at Landsmeet, take Loghain, play to the end to sacrifice yourself/Loghain, load up your Landsmeet file, then sacrifice Alistair, ANOTHER load to sex up Morrigan

So I can get the "Across all playthrough's" achievements in one playthrough except the romance one?

In the guide, it says that required playthrough's is 3 and there is four romance people, does that mean that you can have more than one romance in one playthrough?

i don't think you have to take him to the anvil, just complete his side mission.

Ray5555

Thanks, the mission is pretty obvious, since it is dealing with Golems, and it can be missed if you don't take shale with you. I think Shale leaves your party permanently if you choose to preserve the anvil. I know atleast for a fact if you preserve the anvil the shale side mission will not unlock.

Actually Cloak, I think you need to take him with you, because I choose the path where you destroy the anvil with out him in my party, and never got the side mission. I never even got the side mission when I had him in my party and choose to keep the anvil.

You can get every achievement in 1 playthrough excpet for romance(need to be female for alistar, male for morrigan), Level 20 Classes, and the origin achievements.

here is how to get leliana's personal quest........ You have to have certain conversations with her before you'll be able to do her personal quest. Make sure your approval is 25+ (warm). At camp, ask her "What would someone like you be doing in a chantry?" She will bring up being a minstrel. Leave camp and return again. Talk about minstrels beings spies. Leave camp again and return again. She will automatically approach you and talk about her past. When you leave camp next you will be waylaid on your journey and must defend yourself. Near the end of combat, a cut scene will interrupt and Leliana will give you her personal quest, which will be in Denerim. Do said quest. Tada! Done.

Recruiter:

You misspelled Leliana.

Loghain: this is story related, you will know what to do

Very vague, should be more in depth. I understand you mentioned it right after, but it's still confusing for somebody who's first experiencing the scene because there's MANY variables.

Origin story achievements:

The time varies per player, there shouldn't be an average mentioned. Just mention it's the character introduction or something.

Magic Sympathizer.

Before you attempt this achievement, be sure to have the Litany of Adralla looted from the previous floor before the boss encounter.

Though you can make your choice through final dialogue, you need to complete the boss of The Circle Tower first.

Throughout the fight, he'll occasionally call out and large circles will appear on a mage. This is very bad if you want Magic Sympathizer, this circle begins to transform mages into abominations and will force you down the Annulment Invoker achievement should you take too much time. To guarantee the "Magic Sympathizer" achievement you need to access your Radial Menu (LT button) and access the Advanced Menu, use the litany right beside the mage and it'll cancel the transformation.

Hopelessly Romantic:

To save the hassle of one going to the Wikia.

Excluding plot items, that can only be given to one party member itself:
Morrigan likes Jewelry.
Alistair likes statues and runestones.
Leliana likes Chantry items and shoes.
Zevran likes bars and leather.
Alcohol gives average points to each, downgrading from +5 to +1.

Poacher

I've been experimenting with this achievement, and it seems that the Werewolves will only unlock with the Persuade option and total annihilation of the Dalish. I've attempted to do it with bringing Keeper Zathrian in and fighting him, but it leads to him deciding to redeem himself at the last second and giving the Dalish achievement.

So far, for the Dalish Elves you can:
A) Persuade Keeper Zathrian to release the Werewolves.
B) Fight Keeper Zathrian and defeat him.
C) Kill Witherfang.
D) Help Keeper Zathrian kill Witherfang.

I'm sure I am missing more, but that's what I noticed so far.

You can't miss him. As soon as you can go tot he Deep Roads he will stop your party before you leave Ozammar(SP?) to go to the deep roads. So Basically do all of the Ozammar quests first, then go to the deep roads, and he will appear.

Just something you might want to add into the comments about the "Sacrilegious" achievement.

I believe siding with Kolgrim is the only way to get the "Reaver" specialization unlocked. So you could tag the achievement, talk to Kolgrim, drink the blood, get "Reaver" and then reload. You will still have Reaver.

I also did some searching and others have confirmed the same.

Great guide. Just need some tweeking imo.
Hopelessly Romantic: put a list of the stuff everybody likes, like Dave of Canada said. Also say that you don't want Morrigan to fall in love with you.
Perfectionist: mention where to make a savefile, so all can be done in one playthrough.
Slayer: there seems to be some confusion about this one http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=187838. More information will be welcome.
Just want to make the guide as idiotproof as possible.

Two notes:

You need to be level 20, if you go overboard you won't get the achievement.

You need to actually "level" the character up, giving the points and all that.

Just something else I noticed, I think you have "Poacher" and "Slayer" slightly mixed up based on your comment:

"*Note, for poacher, you must, must kill the elves, not just the main elf. You must kill all the elves, for you to be able to gain the werewolves."

It is actually Slayer where you side with the werewolves and need to kill all of the elves in the town. Also, Expert Coercion (Level 3) is required in order to get the proper dialog options to make this happen.

Thanks.

Is there a certain amount of Cunning you need for it to work too? I think the likelihood of your Coercion skill being successful is based on your Cunning attribute.

When going for that achievement, make sure to have the difficulty at Casual. You do considerable more damage on Casual.

I hope that this is not true :s

A warrior doesn't need cunning, and I want to be a Warrior goody-goody, so I want to get Cunning to 16 (I think) and Coercion to max. Then focus on everything else a warrior needs ;d

you should run into as soon as you beat your first main story quest. he attacks you while you are traveling. after you kill all of the people with him it asks you if you want to kill him or let him live.

I never even got the side mission when I had him in my party and choose to keep the anvil.

that's weird, because i just destroyed the anvil, and then did his DLC. I'm doing his mission now in deep roads. Did you talk to him in camp about it?

As far as I know, persuading them to kill the elves is the only way.

Does changing difficulty mid game effect achievements?

No, you can change the difficulty as often as you want and it will not effect the achievements.

Killing the elves is the only way to get the slayer achievement. If you don't have enough points in coercion then you will have to load a save or start a new character. Best option is with a rogue as you get more talent points to distribute.

Main character learned two specializations

To do this, your main character must reach level 14 and then place your 2 specialization points, one into a separate specialization.

*Note: For those confused, you must acquire the below specializations associated with your class, before you are able to assign a specialization point into that field. You get 1 point at level 7, and one more at 14. Each time you level up after that, the game gives you another chance to spend your points.

I'm level 8 and have brought the book for Beserker but I did not get any achievement and I can't find the book in my inventory either. Am I doing something wrong?

I know I shoul;d not have got this achievement but there is 1 for learning the first specialization right?

Are you a warrior?
if ^ = true, then level once, and place your class specialization point into the berserker spec, and you will get the achievement for having one.

I got a question. To get the achievement for completing the game with all possible endings in one playthrough, how will the game know you chose a particular ending? Because you are going to complete one ending, reload it back, go through a different ending and so on, don't we lose the progress when we load a save back? I don't understand it, can someone explain?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just got it, I don't know how it tracked the progress, I think it uses the EA servers for that. Anyway, no matter how you do it, you get the achievement as long as you go through all the possible endings.

Defeated the dragon guarding the Urn of Sacred Ashes

During the Urn of Sacred Ashes questline, there is a snowy path that will eventually lead you to the guardian. At the start of that path however, is a gong, that you are unable to ring at that time. After the quest is completed however, come back out, and ring it.

I was able to ring it during the quest...

Got a problem... maybe u guys can help?

I'm taking advantage of the level glitch to get all classes to level 20 first and then starting a fresh game. Just want those achievements outta the way.

Warrior worked just fine, got to level 20, set skills, got it....

Mage on the other hand... i wasnt paying attention and went all the way to lv 25. i dont think that matters, but meh, worth noting just in case. Saved before i set skills at lv 25 and when all was said and done, no achievement. I reloaded the save several times with tragic fail every attempt.

If nothing can come of this i will just restart a mage story, seeing how it doesnt take long, but... would like to know the cause if possible before attempting my final class.

-- Thanks in advance guys!!

NVM guys, figured it out.... Apparently you CAN'T wait till your level 25 to spend all your skill points. You wont get the achievement,"at least thats what happened to me." I restarted with a new mage and spent the points a lv 20 and sure enough i got it. Just given heads up to those that may not have known that.

OK, i might be making this question out to be more complicated than it really is, so please bear with me.
Dealing with the perfectionist achievement in one playthrough. Do I need to---
- A - Make a save before the first Big decision and follow save file 1 all the way down the "left" side and save file 2 all the way down the "right" side (each "side" obviously being one of the 2 options). thus essentualy becoming 2 playthroughs after the first decision with the same character?
OR
- B - Make TWO save files before the first decision, chose a side on each save file to ensure both achievements unlock(if availble). Once done with both decisions, continue the game down ONE save file till the next decision and save over the previous unchoosen file to continue down, to once agian experiance both outcomes?
OR
- C - Make Numours save files. The first obviously for your main playthrough to get to each decision, and then countless other save files, each reserved for the OTHER "siding" decision. (Example: Save File 1- Main Game, Save File 2- For the side I didnt choose b/t werewolves or elves, Save File 3- Wheather I sided with the cult or not, Save file 4- Whether i destroyed the anvil or not, ETC...)
OR
- D - Lastly, this one proly being the most difficult to explain. Make enough save files to experiance every possible out come. And by every possible outcome i mean: Sideing with elves, then defy the cult, then destroying the anvil: or Sideing with elves, SIDEING with the cult, then destroying the anvil: or sideing with WEREWOLVES, defy the cult, destroying the anvil... I could go on for a while making minor changes to the decisions, not to mention the other decisions later in the game i left out, Make the possible outcomes to be.... alot.....

Thanks in Advance

OK, i might be making this question out to be more complicated than it really is, so please bear with me.
Dealing with the perfectionist achievement in one playthrough. Do I need to--...

Sounds like you're asking about different achievements here. For Perfectionist, you only need to have saves near the end.

You need one save before the Landsmeet, so you can choose Alistair or Loghain.
You need one save before entering your room at the Arl of Redcliff's place after being told how to kill the archdemon. You need to accept Morrigan's offer for one ending and refuse for the other three.
You need one save immediately before fighting the archdemon so that you can sacrifice either yourself or your ally.

For example:
Save before the Landsmeet, and choose Loghain.
Save before entering your room and accept Morrigan's offer.
Kill the archdemon for one ending.
Reload the save before entering your room and decline Morrigan's offer.
Save before fighting the archdemon. Kill the archdemon and let Loghain sacrifice himself for the second ending.
Reload the save before fighting the archdemon. Kill the archdemon and sacrifice yourself for the third ending.
Reload the save before the Landsmeet.
Reject Morrigan's offer.
Kill the archdemon and sacrifice Alistair for the fourth ending.

To get both the "Sided with X faction" and "Sided with Y faction" achievements in one playthrough, you need to make a save before the decision point in that quest. Then you pick one side, reload the save and pick the other side; then continue the game. Perfectionist is unrelated to which side you choose for any of these.

Hope this answers your questions.

Complete 15 job-board quests

There are job boards, that give you quests. Walk up to one and access it to view the jobs given to you. As you complete quests, more may become available.

Also it has been reported that illegal jobs, mage circle jobs, and black stone irregular jobs count towards these as well.

Illegal jobs located in:

Denerim

Mage Circle jobs located in:

Mage circle docks
Denerim

Blackstone Irregular jobs located in:

Denerim

Job boards, one located in:

Lothering
Redcliffe Village
Denerim Market

Though it might not be any constilation but Blackstone is also located in Redcliffe (right outside the chantry), and Lothering (inside the tavern where you get Liliana) thought that might help for people wanting to hop on the side questing ASAP

An easy way to get the "Heavy Hitter" achievement for a mage is to use the Virulent Walking Bomb Spell in the middle of a large group of targets. When the target explodes it deals tons of damage to surrounding targets, I just got this with a lvl 14 mage.

probably took me 80 hours, but thats three play throughs and only one of them was a speed run (kind of a speed run anyway) as i was really enjoying the game. still though in hindsight i couldve done it much faster, if youre going for traveler try and get it first time through as its the biggest pain in the ass and will require you to play more than you may want to on a later run.

dont use the traveler guide linked to by the OP either, use the one that goes by percentage its in this forum somewhere.
