The episode target times, and time challenges alone should make this game a 5/10. Do you agree?

How can you put no? I thought a reply had to be at least 10 characters.

I agree a much more difficult game than 2/10. Perhaps 2/10 for completion of the game but NOT for 1000. I think most people will have considerable difficulty with certain of the time challenges.

One other point to mention. I obviously find certain portions of this game to be VERY difficult for my level of expertise (I consider myself an average player at best). I am a solo player and do not use two controllers for this game. Perhaps the game is much easier with a second controller (person).

Yeah, 2/10 was WAY off for this...I've got a fair list of 1000s, and no Avatars on my list, this was too tough (and too boring to grind away), the corrupted save system didn't help...got me twice...both times in heaven...just not worth it.

I'd give it a 4/10. 2 should be reserved for games that are short and require little to no effort on the part of the user to complete. This game fits neither catergory. It's somewhat easy and takes 15+ hours to finish.

The actual story is a piece of piss, but some of the time challenges are ridiculously frustrating. They actually make me hate the game.

in my book it gets a 4 or 5 out of 10. i got all of lisa's seals and never got the achievement and i'm not sure why - i will never play the game again because of it - so i will never get a thousand and i'm cool with that.

I'd say about 5/10, maybe 6/10 at the most.

Target time and collectible achievements are always a pain in any game.

I see all the difficulty ratings for the full 1000g, so in terms of difficulty and level of fun....would you say this game is actually worth buying (cheap) or not?

If you're a fan of the TV series, then it's a buy.

The game's got some really bad camera issues which make it frustrating at times. I just beat the main game and about half the time challenges in around 7 hours. I don't want to 1000 it though, getting all the collectables just doesn't interest me.

The target times are the only thing keeping me from 100%. I'll attempt them...sometime...

I love The Simpsons (not as much as Futurama mind you) so I took a punt and picked it up on ebay for 7....at that price I can't really complain if it's not that good :)

I completed the story line really easily, so that prob is a 2/10 but so far as some of the time challenges etc...that makes it about a 6/10 for me :( I've had to leave the game alone for a while because some of them are frustrating me so much.....

Just wanted to add my 2 cents since I just finished getting 1k on this.

No way in hell would I consider this a 2/10. Im not saying its super hard either, but some of those time challenges weren't easy. I would rank it at least a 4/10.

However Im a huge Simpsons fan and overall I really enjoyed the game.

Agree.

personally for me I just find scouring each of the levels for collectibles to be extremely tedious after a while.

but if a game must have collectibles they should do like Afro Samurai where there's a small number per level and very few levels. On top of that, the key thing that Afro Samurai did was have achievements for getting all of said very few collectibles per level.

I think this game is a 2/10 as difficulty but not for collectibles and time challenges. It's at least 5/10 because there are too many collectibles for this kind of games and some time challenges aren't very easy

I agree with many posters in that the difficulty of this game should be 5/10. The storyline is really very easy but it's the time challenges that are just ridiculous.

I'd give it a 4/10, because the collecting is tedious and the time challenges are ,for lack of a better word, challenging. Speaking of the challenges anyone have any tips on the Matt Groening boss battle time challange?

well can we give it a 4.5? story mode 3/10 the collectibles 4/10 the time challenges 6/10 but i have yet to finish the target times. i think what we are all forgetting is the camera setup. 10/10 for camera stupidity! nothing like looking at what you want to do then BAM! the camera shifts!!! i want full control of the camera or fixed. not this ack n forth crap. ok i am done. :)

I agree, the time challenges and beating every chapters target time requires more effort than a 2/10. 5/10 is more accurate.

I always hate games like this, they take something that should have been fun and turn it into something you dread doing. I don’t even know why they come up with achievements like this in games. Who the hell wants to play something 15-20 times or more just to beat some arbitrary time limit? These game developers/programmers need to realize their game isn’t as good as they seem to think. A little challenge is one thing but nobody wants to sit there for hours mindlessly replaying their half assed game!

I'm only 20% done and am already getting sick of this game. It's not hard, yet, it's just a POS with no play value.

2/10 for the main story, but a solid 6/10 for the time trials and collectables.

Any game that has a time trial achievement(s) requires alot of patience.

i didn't have trouble with this game, I just think the collectables were boring and there is no guide with them in order. The time challenges werent bad imo, i didnt struggle with them but I guess it would be like a 4/10 since a 2/10 should just be like easy and shit.

Found the game surprisingly enjoyable and not massively challenging bar Maki Roll Mania which I just can't see me getting at any point.

This game is easily a 6/10, and as for time I think 20 hours as a minimum to get the full 1000. I cant see anyone getting this in the 10 listed. As an example, I just finished playing Night at the Museum which was also rated a 2/10, that game took me about 3-4 hours and gave me no trouble what so ever.

I’ve had this game for about 3 years now, its actually the first game I ever played on 360 and I still don’t have all of it done. The time challenges are a pain in the ass, even with 2 players. I pop it in once every 6 months or so and try and knock out a couple more, one day I might get them all.

Something I’d like to see done here is to take the difficulty and time to 100% out of the road maps and instead set up some kind of polling system where everyone can have an input. Make it so you have to have at least 50% of the achievements before you can vote.

Then why are you still on 550/1000 achievement wise in this game? I'm just curious, if its that easy why haven't you finished it?

FinSleepless
06-25-2011, 08:29 PM
The storyline was easy, but all the achievements together would get a 5/10 from me. It was a pretty fun game and lots easier with 2 players.

To ACE the game I could easily see a 5/10 This is NOT a 2/10 To beat the game it might be, but Super Happy Happy Fun Fun's time trial is far from a 2/10. Not to mention beating the episodes under the time limit.

I wish we could update the number, I bought the game expecting a fun romp and have gotten caught up on this one, I'll probably come back to it another time.

It's only a 5/10 for 2 achievement. The rest are easy or grind fests. But those two easily knock the difficulty up.

I'd give this a 5 or 6/10. Took me a few tries to get the 1000. Game itself is fairly simple but to actually get every achievement it can get frustrating.

some of the time challenges were really pissing me off and I was trying to get all the episodes target time
but I don't think I'm going to do either to be honest b/c I'm so sick of this game..

I love the Simpsons so I had to pick the game up. I started playing and loved it even though the game's controls can't handle the platforming and the camera is wobbly or loose. After a while though the desire to see the next cutscene was outweighed by the below average gameplay. I realized all I wanted was to see the cutscenes, which really only made me want to watch the show. I really liked the cliches as well but couldn't be bothered to find them all.

I would give the game a 4/10 for difficulty. Lisa the Cheatrix time challenge was horrible to complete. I may come back to the game one day or just play like 1 episode every 6 months or so....

The challenges aren't that terrible, watching a video helps if you're really stuck. What pisses me off is finishing the episodes under par time, where one bad jump (easy with the controls and terrible camera) can ruin your run.

Definitely not a 2/10, and not doable in 10 hours.

acdougla17
11-20-2011, 08:31 AM
2/10 is appropriate. 10 hours is too short however as it took me 18 hours to finish. The time trials were a joke except for the one where you need to get 30 kills against Benders, and Zoidbergs. But I just got my sister to play as Bart and it was cake. The par times were all easy to do after beating the game. The only one I had to do twice was that Japanese Homer level (the one with lava, ice and air).

The collectibles are what make this game horrible. There are SOOOOO many and it just ruins any possible fun by having to always keep track of collectibles.

Corrupt.

A couple of the challenges were a complete bitch, but apart from that, easy as pie. Maybe 4/10, and yes I do have all of the achievements...

The first time I played this game I got stuck on a level very early on so I decided to just not play it and let it gather dust somewhere for a couple of months then one day I just decided to give it another go.

It was much easier after these couple months had passed, don't know why but it was. Not to say time challenges aren't a difficult task but story was pretty cool had a couple lols at some of the scenes, the idea of, "God" dropping an instruction manual for life haha.

Going to give the collections and cliche searching a try later for an extra 400g. :)

I’ve recently picked this game back up to try and finally complete it. I know I’ve already added my two cents on this thread and how I feel it‘s way more than a 2/10. However I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to post this little tidbit of info.

Just out of curiosity I looked up the gamer tag of the person who wrote the roadmap giving it a 2/10 and only 10-20 hours to complete and guess what? He never even finished the game himself! He never did the collectables, he never beat all the time challenges and he never beat the episode target times. He has a 460/1000 in the game. Just thought I’d toss that out there.

Mickford

Definitely at least a 5/10 for difficulty. I had to look up a video for the Maki Roll achievement. Ugh that time trial sucked. Not a cake walk 1000G that's for sure. And don't go collecting the collectibles in the Springfield overworld free-roam area without a guide marking them off as you go or you'll be in trouble :)

06-03-2012, 01:34 AM
Some things are hard, and some are just tedious and annoying. I'd say 5/10 just for that. Target times for every episode? No thank you. This won't be a game that I'm completing. I'm over it.

It's not supposed to be a 2/10 for story mode. It's supposed to reflect the ease in which you obtain all achievements. Definitely a 5 or 6 for time challenges and target times.
