View Full Version : Other Alternatives to Fixing a 360 Besides MS?

Tried to do a search for this but came up empty.

So my 360 has been freezing up on and off since last Friday. Would either happen right when I turn on my 360 or about 10 minutes in when it's on. It happens when both the hard drive is attached and isn't attached.

I know it's probably on its way out and I'd like to get it fixed. However, I really don't want to pay $100+ for Microsoft to fix. I was just curious if there were any other cheaper alternatives that anyone around here has used to get their 360s fixed?

If so, can you just write the name of the site, if they did a good job, and how much you paid?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

There's some companies on ebay that can fix an xbox for about $1 plus shipping. You could try fixing it yourself, but thats risky and doesnt always work. Other than ebay or MS, theres not any big name sites I know that can fix them for less.

Do you think sending it away for $1 be a good idea? I think they would not return your xbox.

It does sound sketchy, but they charge 40 or 50 bucks for s/h. The don't steal xboxes though.

Please be aware that if you have anyone other than Microsoft repair it, the console WILL be banned at some point. If you never connect to Live, that is fine, otherwise stick with MS for the repairs.
