I was thinking about getting this too, but herd that your router has to support the "N" network for you to be able to use the "N" network on the adapter, if your router doesn't support it is just going to be the same as your old adapter. this is what I've herd don't know if it is true or not, haven't gotten a answer from anybody.

I have talked to someone i know who has one and he says its very good and much better than the other but as the dude above stated, you wireless router does need to support 'N', i just stick to cable because its cheaper abd theres no interference or connection problems

Something that I haven't been clear on, do you need the new adapter to support WPA2?

Ok thanks for the replies.
How do I check if my router supports "N"?
MY routers Netgear, which has an "N" in it.... good enough?: :p

Generally 802.11N routers will have at least two antenna's, however what you need to do is get the specific version of your router, and just do a google search on it.

Bit off topic, but i'd really like to see a comparison video one console using the standard adapter, one using the new 'improved' adapter ? is this just me or does anyone else agree?

Can someone post a link about this? I need a new adapter after I get my Xbox repaired. I have a original wireless adapter with 1 antenna.

Amen to that!

But yeah, aslong as you have a router that supports N, then get the new adapter, it'll be worth the extra 30.

Well even if its the same he still has the option to upgrade to a wireless N router in the future you can get a pretty good one for around $40-$50.

Yeah and if it was just that then I would buy both the adapter and a new router, I would love a better connection.
However my router atm I spent agess setting up I had to get a guy into do it eventually!!
so it will be too much hassle.
