Introduction:
Welcome to Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment. Vandal Hearts is an enjoyable Japanese turn based Role Playing Game, available through the XBL Marketplace, and has a rather easy set of 12 achievements.
Of the achievements, 5 are unlocked simply by playing and finishing the story, netting you 80http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg
If you're aiming towards 100% completion, two playthroughs are needed but can be reduced to one playthrough and a little bit by following this roadmap.
It will take at least 15 hours to fully complete the game once and reload the last part for the 2nd ending, but it will take up to 20 hours if you're willing to do 2 full playthroughs.

The missable achievements are:
- either Champion of Sostegaria or Hero of Sostegaria
- Serenity and Fury
- Wanderlust

Achievement Discussion Thread (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=146078)

Step #1: First Ending - Altyria

Before you actually start playing, I'd suggest you first take a look at the Wanderlust achievement, as you will want to unlock the hidden additional maps while you progress through the game doing the story related battles, and not want to do the battles (skirmish) over again in search for the hidden maps (which will save you some time!)

Act I : Cherish These Times of Peace
During the first part of the story you will want to unlock the Tag Team, Explorer and Treasure Hunter achievements, ending this Act with the Revelations achievement.

Follow the locations in the Revelations achievement in order to progress through the story.

When you get to Devilsteel Garrison, Tobias will ask Luce for help because of the town being under attack. Appearantly, Luce doesn't like Altyria and wants the girl (Altyria) to be left behind.

You'll get the question:
Choice #1: "What should we do?"
A) Calvin, tell her to stay here
B) No. She's coming with us.
=> Choose [ B ]

You can always start new battles on a Skirmish Map where you can level up your characters and earn gold to buy new and better weapons in shops.

Now proceed with the remaining locations until you get to Act II. Do not worry if there are still places you didn't visit yet. Once you complete Act III, you will have access to all the locations again.

Act II : The Darkest Road
In this 2nd Act, you will unlock the Zero Casualties and the Sandword Slayer achievements.

At the very beginning of Act II, you will get the following question:

Choice #2: "Altyria, a spy?"
A) I'm so sorry, Altyria
B) Luce, why would he do this?
=> Choose [ A ]

After having left Dreas Village, you will have to escape in a mine cart in order to continue with the story. And there you go... Zero Casualties unlocked!

Follow the locations in Sandworm Slayer until you get to Ancient Ruins. After this battle, a new question...

Choice #3: "Just a bunch of crazy old ramblings?"
A) Yeah, just ignore it.
B) Maybe not...
=> Choose [ B ]

Now proceed with the remaining locations until you get to Act III and unlock the Sandworm Slayer achievement.

Act III : The Fallen Crown
Follow the locations in the Royal Defender achievement until you get to Biruni University. After having brought the King at the gate, or if you were able to defeat all the enemies, you get another question:

Choice #4: "Do you want to fight General Daldren Gray?"
A) Luce and Gren need our help.
B) We've done our part
=> Choose [ A ]

At the end of the battle, the Royal Defender achievement should unlock.

A little before the start of Act IV, another question...

Choice #5: "What are we going to do about Daldren?"
A) We can still stop him
B) Hang on. Let me talk to Luce.
=> Choose [ B ]

ACT IV : The Sword And The Flame
In this final Act, we will work towards the Weapon Mastery and Wanderlust achievements, ending this Act with the Champion of Sostegaria achievement.

The story will take you to Church of Restoration, followed by Timion Vale.
After those, go to Port of Chai-Haim and once there, speak to the Captain who you can find in the tavern "Drinkwater Galley". He'll tell you to meet him at the pier.

Now, BEFORE leaving mainland and head to the Research Facility (on Gillbaris Island) make sure you've won ALL 8 additional map battles (yes, including Gillbaris Gardens!). See Wanderlust for more information.

By now, you should have also gotten the Weapon Mastery achievement (if not earlier!). In case you didn't, go do some battles on Skirmish Maps and refer to Weapon Mastery for more information .

You should be ready to go to Gillbaris Island by now.
Note that once you leave mainland, you won't be able to return!
Go to Port of Chai-Haim and upgrade your weapons and armors if necessary.
But most important, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE!!!

Set course to the Research Facility... On the boat, Luce and Altyria are standing on the opposite sides of the deck. And there goes your question:

Choice #6: "Who should I talk to?"
A) Talk to Luce.
B) Talk to Altyria.
=> Choose [ B ]

There will be another battle at the Purgatory (not a map location!).
After that, the story will bring you to Thane Battlefield. Before the battle starts, you don't get a question, but more like a fact:

Choice #7: "So much death."
A) It's all right, Altyria. We're here to stop this.
B) You heard the Captain. Let's go to work!
=> Choose [ A ]

Once you defeat Daldren, the Wanderlust achievement will unlock.
But it isn't over yet! This will be the final fight, against the Avatars of Fire.
And once you win this battle, the Champion of Sostegaria achievement will unlock at the end of the endscene.

Step #2: Second Ending - Luce

Time for the fun part! Now RELOAD the game saved earlier (the one at Port of Chai-Haim).

Set course to the Research Facility again... On the boat, same question but this time:

Choice #6: "Who should I talk to?"
A) Talk to Luce.
B) Talk to Altyria.
=> Choose [ A ]

Repeat the battles at Research Facility and Purgatory.

At Thane Battlefield...

Choice #7: "So much death."
A) It's all right, Altyria. We're here to stop this.
B) You heard the Captain. Let's go to work!
=> Choose [ B ]

Defeat the Avatars of Fire once again, small endscene, and you will unlock the Hero of Sostegaria immediately followed by the Serenity and Fury achievement.

Congratulations!

Conclusion:
Overall, this game is a pretty easy 200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg and you should have unlocked all achievements by now if you followed this roadmap. If you are still missing achievements at this point, I'd suggest to reload a saved game.

Thanks:
I would like to thank all the people in the forum for their bits of information which helped us search in the right direction, not to forget oneluckybullet, Nojness and Dragonsss.
A special thanks to Loopstahblue for his HUGE amount of efforts which meant a lot to me in completing this guide.
And, also thank YOU for using it.

Find a hidden item on any battlefield.

This achievement shouldn't be a problem at all.

There will be plenty of places in the game where you can get this achievement. Just be sure to examine chests and crates, especially when you see the yellow sparkles drawing your attention.

But, in case you want the first "GO"...

During the battle in Town of Tolby, the one of the civilians being attacked by Kelbrun's men, you'll notice some crates with yellow sparkles next to one of the houses.
If you don't see it right away from the start, use the :ls: to move around the map and use the :rs: to change the camera angle.
Have a character go next to the crates and examine it by choosing Action, then Examine.

In Dry Riverbed, there is also a chest to be discovered next to a tree with a weird looking hole, somewhere in the corner of the map.
The reason why I didn't start with this map to get this achievement on, is because of the "Wounded Girl" in your 2nd battle probably bleeding to death if you take too long on defeating the wolves because of walking around.

Execute a Team Attack.

Can be unlocked at the beginning of the game, but you'll get it throughout the game anyways without any efforts.

According to posts from several people, there seem to be different ways to unlock the achievement, but I'll explain the quickest way to get it:

After a short introduction on practicing melee, range and magic attacks, you'll have your first battle.
- First, have both Tobias and Calvin get close enough to the enemies.
- Then, when it is your turn to attack, have Tobias (or Calvin) to perform a range attack using his bow on an enemy.
- Last, when it is your turn to attack again, have Calvin (or Tobias if the first attack was by Calvin) also perform a range attack using his bow on the same enemy.
- Now, automatically your first character will repeat the same attack and you should see "Team attack" appear on your screen, unlocking the achievement.

Win a battle with 6 surviving party members.

Don't worry too much about this achievement, as it will unlock in the beginning of Act II after leaving Dreas Village and where you have to escape in the mining cart with all 6 party members alive in order to progress with the story.
Once you do, the achievement unlocks.

Raise a weapon skill to rank 25.

Another easy one to get.

When available, press :ybut: to check your character's status.
There are 2 columns, with on the left side the Core Skills and on the right side the Magic Skills. Using the :ls:, move the feather on the 3rd box to view the Combat Skills in which you will find:
- Sword
- Axe
- Dagger
- Bow
- Hand to Hand
- Hammer

You can check the skills for every character individually by pressing :lbbut: or :rbbut:

Obviously, the more you use a specific weapon, the faster your character will level up his/her skills for that specific weapon.
Once you reach level 25 on that specific weapon skill, the achievement will pop up.

You should get it before the end of the game just by normally playing the story.

Discover every battle map.

In order to unlock this achievement, all you have to do are the story related battle maps but also WIN the (hidden) additional maps as just 'discovering' them is not good enough!
Once you discover an additional map for the first time, it will unlock the Explorer achievement when you return to the Main Map.
Below is a list where you can find them, how they are obtained and which new location is to be discovered.

The Additional maps are:

Dry River Bed
Examine the large tree with a hole in the side in the NW corner of the map.
Opens: Four Swordsmen Spring

Ruins of Tolby
Examine the small crate next to the NW most house on the rise to the left of your party.
Opens: Ragnar's Gorge

Dread Caves
Use the switch next to the mine cart loaded with rocks.
Opens: Trivishim's Corridor

Ancient Ruins
Examine the stone tablet next to the closest group of enemies.
Opens: Keliask's Tomb

Royal Courtyard
Examine the throne.
Opens: Halls of Atonement

Biruni University (!)
Examine the barrel next to the house on the map edge right next to your start position in the story battle.
Opens: Foreign Quarter

Church of Restoration
Examine the well next to the church.
Opens: Avery Fields

Timion Vale
Examine the skeleton on the opposite side of the central tree from the chest.
Opens: Gillbaris Gardens

Earned both endings to the game.

This achievement is unlocked right after you get the achievement for the second ending, either the Altyria or the Luce one!

Throughout the game, there will be about seven times you need to pick a response to a given situation. One favors Altyria, the other Luce. The majority of the picked responses will favor one girl above the other and determine the ending of the story unlocking the achievement accordingly.

These seven points and their possible answers are listed below:

Choice #1: "What should we do?"
A) Calvin, tell her to stay here (LUCE)
B) No. She's coming with us. (ALTYRIA)

Choice #2: "Altyria, a spy?"

3rd battle is where i got the find an item achievment
1st battle is where i got the team up attack

so far i have those and the survivor and act 1.
anote for the survivor, i had six ppl in my party and went and did choice battle or random battle and all party members survived but i did not get the achievement. next battle was a story and all survived and i got it. leading me to believe it has to be done in a story battle and not a random or optional one.

Yeah, got the game to DL finally. :)

Treasure Hunter achievement is easy to get in the 3rd battle, there are some boxes next to a hut and also a barrel further along the path towards the well that have shiny stars around them. Search while in a square next to them to get the achievement.

Zero Casualties is a story achievement as well, you have to get it on the 1st battle of Act II as it's the win condition, although you could get it earlier.

This also works with two characters equipped with bows. As long as the 2nd character is also in range they have a chance to team attack, I think certain characters have a better chance of triggering an attack. Luce seems to trigger them a lot.

Same thing here, did this on a skirmish battle and didn't unlock.

You gain it automatically on Act II Mission 1 so you don't need to worry too much about getting it before that.

As far as advice for that mission I suggest killing the group on the right (facing the mine with the camera) as they are closest. Get everyone around the switch quickly and just heal and kill anyone that gets close as you escape.

A second group of enemies appear from the right about half way through so you do need to hurry and escape rather than try and fight otherwise you can be swarmed.

Finished Act IV with the Altyria ending.

Gained by choosing all the options sympathetic to Altyria when allowed to pick a response, I assume the other ending is the Luce ending where you pick all the options that agree with her.

That means there's a 15http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif missable achievement somewhere and that you need two playthroughs of the game.

Did anyone save all 4 villagers at Tolby as I only saved 3 and wondered if that might be the missing one.

For Zero Casualties... I think it's messed up, I did like 2 story battle, didn't unlock even if no one died. But, I found an optional battle on the battle of tolby and when I completed this optional battle the achivement unlocked!

Can anyone else confirm this please? Since most ppl are talking in their posts about the story related battles...

I've checked the map for places I might have missed for the Wanderlust achievement.

These are the map areas I never accessed has anyone found the way to access them:
Some sort of farm in the forest north of the battlefield.
Some sort of ruin in the forest east of the riverbed.
A square keep to the west of the royal city.
Ruins on the island.

What if you reload a previous save (a little before the ending) and choose another ending?

The villagers you are talking about, do you refer to Act 1 (2nd battle, the one right after "Wounded Girl"?)

There are a number of places throughout the game where you have to choose between the two women, it's not something you can pick at the end.

I had a thought perhaps there are three endings, the 3rd being where you don't favour either woman.

Could be... but since one of the secret achievements only gives 15G instead of the two others being 20G, this last achievement might be related to something about I dunno... having all skills at 25 or something like that.

I've found an extra map towards the Wanderlust achievement.

If you return to the Dry River Bed and examine the large tree with the hole in it in the NW corner then you find a map that opens up the Four Knights Spring to the East. It doesn't sparkle you just need to stand in front of the hole and examine it.

So that's three so far:

Tablet in Ancient ruins
Tree in Dry river bed
Mine cart in Dread caves

I suspect there might be another in the Royal Palace or the Bridge as someone in the bar mentions the King having keys to the dungeons and that's how I found the tree, from a rumour.

The farm looking place might open from something in the battlefield.

I also saved all the villagers in Tolby but that wasn't the secret achievement either.

Someone in the first "Tavern" (I forget the proper name for it in this VH, but they were Taverns in the original) you can get to tells you about this tree. I guess if you check all of them, you can find some good clues for where the areas are without trying to examine every square of every level ;)

Confirmed, replaying the map "Dry River Bed" in Act I with 6 party members and having them survive does not unlock the Zero Casualties achievement.

Also, for the Explorer might be worth mentioning the 'chievo won't pop until you're back at the main map.

Zero Casualties isn't glitched - it's just worded akwardly. To unlock it you need to finish a battle with all 6 characters alive at the end, and it must be a battle which is not available until after you obtain all six characters. This means, basically, any fight after the Chapter I, Battle III (Town of Tolby). That battle itself does NOT count because Connor leaves your party for the duration of the battle.

As for team attack, both characters must be using the same weapontype. Simply attack an enemy while an ally is within attack range and wielding the same weapon. This is easy to get on Chapter I, Battle I (0?) using bows.

You will get it if a "Team Attack" is triggered which, aside from the previously mentioned criteria, also requires you to pass a roll against the ally's "teamwork" stat. This is a check of the stat on the character you are not currently controlling.

So Wanderlust progress:

Dry River Bed
Examine the large tree with a hole on the side in the NW corner of the map.
Opens: Four Swordsmen Spring.

Dread Caves
Use the switch next to the minecart full of rocks.
Opens: Trivishim's Corridor.

Ancient Ruins
Examine the stone tablet near the first group of enemies.
Opens: Keliask's Tomb.

I got this here as well, and did so during the story mission itself. I'd argue that, due to the time limit imposed on you in the story mission, it's probably easier to wait and pick one up in the Town of Tolby, if not faster.

Awesome, just found it. Its next to the house on the NW corner of the rise to the right of where you start. Its a small brown crate and the stars are hard to spot from a distance.

Also has anyone found a way to get to the houses near the university? I checked the skirmish map as I spotted a suspicious haystack but it just held loot and couldn't spot anything else that looked like it might hide something.

Listen, it seems that just unlocking the maps isn't enough. You actually seem to be victorious with the battle on the maps.

Johnny Sinister has got 200/200G on this title and here's what he wrote me.

"There are actually only two endings. One for picking one of each girl, and one for earning both endings. I believe there are 35 maps. The maps count each actual battle, not location, if that makes sense.

Even after unlocking all the optional maps, you still have to beat the maps, and the achievement won't unlock until you get to the final boss fight (which will count as the last battle map).

I made a save around the end of chapter 3, and I was able to play the last 3 hours of the game over again, with enough choices to get the other ending, so if you save in the right place, it won't take too long."

Hope this helps.

PS: make a save just entering final boss battle, just in case

PS2: I wonder if it's possible to return/access region maps after the game ended

What do you need to do to take Luce Ending or the other?

What change the end?

There are 7 points in the story where you need to pick a response.

One is where you decide to rescue Luce and Gren at the University. I'm not sure how this one relates to the endings though.

The other 6 are clear picks between either agreeing with Luce or sympathising with Altyria.

1. When you go to Devilsteel Garrison.
Agree for Altyria to stay at the keep - LUCE
Argue for Altyria to come with you - ALTYRIA

2. At the start of Act II after the fort.
Ask Luce why - LUCE
Comfort Altyria - ALTYRIA

3. At the Ancient Ruins.
Ignore it - LUCE
Maybe not - ALTYRIA

4. After the bridge.
Talk to Luce - LUCE
We'll stop him - ALTYRIA

5. On the Boat.
Talk to Luce - LUCE
Talk to Altyria - ALTYRIA

6. At the battle.
Follow the captain - LUCE
Sympathise with Altyria - ALTYRIA

Now when I went through I picked all the same options either all Luce or all Altyria, it probable that as long as you pick the majority for one girl you get that ending.

I checked yesterday and I'd finished 17 maps.

Today I'm at 47 so I must have done 30 in this playthrough, means I'm 5 short.

Edit: Just realised I didn't revisit 5 maps. This might be the reason. I'm going to revisit them now and then play through the end again and see.

You might have to visit each map twice.

Discovered every battle map.

To get this you need to do the following:

Complete every battle map in the story.
Complete the 8 hidden battle maps.

WARNING: If you haven't found and beaten all the hidden maps when you board the ship for Gillbaris Island you can't return.

The hidden maps are as follows:

Dry River Bed:
Examine the large tree with a hole in the side in the NW corner of the map.
Opens: Four Swordsmen Spring

Ruins of Tolby:
Examine the small crate next to the NW most house on the rise to the left of your party.
Opens: Ragnar's Gorge

Dread Caves:
Use the switch next to the mine cart full of rocks.
Opens: Trivishim's Corridor

Ancient Ruins:
Examine the stone tablet next to the closest group of enemies.
Opens: Keliask's Tomb

Royal Courtyard:
Examine the throne.
Opens: Halls of Anulment

Biruni University:
Examine the barrel next to the house on the map edge right next to your start position in the story battle.
Opens: Foreign Quarter

Church of Restoration:
Examine the well next to the church.
Opens: Avery Fields

Tiamon Vale
Examine the skeleton on the opposite side of the central tree from the chest.
Opens: Gillbaris Gardens

Finally finished, thanks to everyone who helped me find some of those hidden maps.

A quick note about Tag Team as well, you don't need to target the same enemy, you just need a second character equipped with the same weapon type (bow or melee) within attack range when you attack. It's much easier to get with bows as they have a greater range.

Also in the roadmap you say you should get the Zero Casualties achievement in Act I, this isn't needed as you get it at the start of Act II anyway and it might make people replay battles they don't need to.

EDIT: Removed stuff about revisiting maps as apparently it isn't needed.

So, you are actually saying that I can have for example Tobias shooting at Bandit A using his Bow, then having Calvin shooting at Bandit B also using his Bow, and automatically having Tobias to attack Bandit B if he's in attack range?

Also in the roadmap you say you should get the Zero Casualties achievement in Act I, this isn't needed as you get it at the start of Act II anyway and it might make people replay battles they don't need to.

I got mine on the 5th battle, still in Act I.
People have to redo the Skirmish Maps anyways.
But yes, perhaps I might leave the 5th battle achievement description away and just keep the Act II Battle I part to avoid confusion.

Oh! And... CONGRATS ON YOUR 100% GAME COMPLETION :woop:

The first attack isn't even necessary. If you attack someone and an ally using the same weapon type is in range to also attack that same enemy, there is a chance it will happen.

I'm just wondering how long it took you to get the 200G

Well I did two complete playthroughs due to the two endings, however you could do 1 1/2 to get both endings although I'm not sure at which point you would need to do the save.

The second playthrough (the complete one) which included all the extra maps and repeating battles for the Wanderlust took me about 12-13 hours I would estimate, so add another 3-4 for replaying part of it to get the other ending (as you wouldn't need to do every map that time) then I would estimate about 15-17 hours.

It's the battles themselves that take a lot of the time as there isn't really a way to rush them. They do get quicker slightly as you increase your skills and weapons as you can often insta-kill enemies but they still take time.

There are 7 points in the story where you need to pick a response.

One is where you decide to rescue Luce and Gren at the University. I'm not sure how this one relates to the endings though.

The other 6 are clear picks between either agreeing with Luce or sympathising with Altyria.

1. When you go to Devilsteel Garrison.
Agree for Altyria to stay at the keep - LUCE
Argue for Altyria to come with you - ALTYRIA

2. At the start of Act II after the fort.
Ask Luce why - LUCE
Comfort Altyria - ALTYRIA

3. At the Ancient Ruins.
Ignore it - LUCE
Maybe not - ALTYRIA

4. After the bridge.
Talk to Luce - LUCE
We'll stop him - ALTYRIA

5. On the Boat.
Talk to Luce - LUCE
Talk to Altyria - ALTYRIA

6. At the battle.
Follow the captain - LUCE
Sympathise with Altyria - ALTYRIA

Now when I went through I picked all the same options either all Luce or all Altyria, it probable that as long as you pick the majority for one girl you get that ending.

I am not very far ahead but am looking ahead to minimize replay time to 100%. From what you post it appears there are 7 dialog options that effect one character or another and result in two endings (achievements). It's probably fair to guess that which ever character receives 4+ in their favor you get their ending. In this case wouldn't it be possible to tie the dialogs at 3/3 and save the game before giving a character the 4th choice? Then reply this save to get the other?

That could work.

The university questions isn't as clear as the others but I would guess the fury (Luce) answer is rescuing them and the serenity (Altyria) answer is that you've done enough.

Then you get a save option after the Research Lab battle where you could replay the ending from (and the last dialogue choice), as I'm not sure if you get a save option after Purgatory or go straight to the dialogue choice.

This would then only require about 30 minutes at the most of a replay.

Just a quick question: Is there a way back to the Church of Restoration, since there is supposed to be an optional map to be found. I can navigate my arrow to the church, but i can't enter the map as with a normal skirmish map.

Do you come back here as part of the storyline, or did I have to get this map at the very first beginning?

You will revisit the Church as part of the storyline, after that you can then go back and fight the optional battle on the Church map for the 3rd visit.

So I'm under the impression that around the end of act 3, I can go and do all of these, or are there some that you have to hit at the beginning? I'm in the middle of act 2 so figure I should ask...

Also, the double endings, it appears that you have to go one way or the other with the choices, and there's not really an opprotunity to make a save file before some point. Am I wrong in this or is it just a good old fashioned two playthroughs?

You do NOT have to replay the Skirmish Maps for Wanderlust.

Just play through the story missions & the 8 hidden maps and you will unlock Wanderlust after defeating Daldren (Thane Battlefield).

That will certainly make things easier then and reduce the time by about 2-3 hours. It must have just been the final hidden map that was stopping me getting the achievement then, I assumed it was the revisits as well as Trikke had mentioned needing 35 maps.

For the two endings you could most definitely make a save after making 3 choices from each, then saving before Thane Battlefield.

I got it just fine by saving before Biruni University and doing the other ending from there.

I forgot if you can save after Purgatory, but this would be the spot to make 2 separate saves for (just in case). Otherwise you would save before going to Purgatory.

I think I might have figured out how to get the 2 different endings without playing through the game twice or halfway.

I believe once you're at the Port of Chai-Haim (save before then) and you have the option to talk to either Luce or Altyria before boarding the boat, you should pick whomever you want to unlock the ending for.

After that when you are given the second option later on to to decide with Altyria - "It's all right, Altyria. We're here to stop this." or Luce - "You heard the Captain. Let's go to work!" - Once again pick whomever you want the ending for.

(Sorry if this had been posted before)

I had played through it once and saved towards the end, went back to finish up all the maps and just picked these 2 different answers. I don't know how much the previous answers play a factor into it so if anyone else wanted to test this out. I would think just the final 2 answers play the biggest part in which ending you get.

Ok, i read on the roadmap that you have to look online on the leaderboards to see your map count, but mine just stay's at 4, and i did every map and optional map up to act 2, why wont it go up??????(i even went back to all the levels and optional ones and re beat them????) if anyone can help me here????????????

When you check the leaderboards is it updating? Also my map count says 47 so I wouldn't really read into it that much, I believe all that it does is count how many battles you got into. So I am guessing it probably hasn't updated. Also if you're going for the unlock all the maps achievement, it's probably easiest to go through the game up to the 4th act and save, then go back to all the maps where you open up the hidden maps.

I did it that way and was really easy since your characters are leveled up and can easily blast through the maps.

I have a map count of 29 and the achievement got unlocked yesterday.

I'd suggest not to worry too much about the map count. As you progress through the story till the end of the game, all basic (story related) maps will count anyways.

More important are the 8 hidden maps that you must do BEFORE going to the research facility. The last map is Thane Battlefield, and the wanderlust will unlock once you defeat General Galdren.

So basically, just play the story and win the battles on the (hidden) additional maps, and you should be fine...

In fact, this is important. As I was adding bits and pieces to the roadmap yesterday, while progressing in the game and finishing Act IV, I started to wonder if the 6 questions with A or B answer really matter.

I start to think that if you sympathise with Altyria during the first 6 questions, but choose the 'Luce' answer on the 7th question, the game will give you the 'Luce' ending achievement.

Therefor, after you leave to the research facility and beat Dumas and his minions, there will be the LAST save point BEFORE the 7th question.

My actual save game is 3 times Altyria and 3 times Luce ending, just in case. So, it's difficult for me to say if just picking the last answer affects the game ending, since my first ending will have 4 Altyria's and 3 Luces, and then after the reload 3 Altyria's and 4 Luces.

It could help reduce the amount of steps in the roadmap as well.

And thus, it would be good to have someone new without any achievements yet, and who is about to start a new game, to have him answer the first 6 questions with the Altyria answer, but the 7th with the Luce, just to see which achievements pops up.

If you get stuck somewhere, the achievement discussion thread can be found <HERE>

QUESTION: Does someone know how I can replace this URL with the text "HERE"?

Like this: <HERE> (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=146078)

You just highlight the word you want to link, select the "world icon" from the toolbar and copy the link into the address bar that pops up.

BTW - Thank you for the guide, it's been very helpful so far.

A question.I just went back to Dry River Bed after saving the red haired girl to see what was there and it's a fight against 2000 wolves.Somehow I managed to get it down to my 1 character and 1 wolf (all my other teamates were dead in 5 seconds) and the wolf got the last blow on me,wasting a good 20 minutes for nothing. So,did I go here waaaaay too early or do I just plain suck?

I had no trouble with Band of Bugs (very similar style game) but that was only my 3rd proper fight and was ridiculously hard.

EDIT : I'm a fanny.If I'd gone to the garrison,Id've had 2 extra powerful characters.Went back and haven't lost a member since.Duh...

The ruin near the dried riverbed is the Four Soldier Shrine, I believe it's called. You need to examine the hollowed tree on the map of the Dried Lake Bed to get a map piece that will direct you there.

A sword is located on that map that heals the weilder occasionally when dealing damage to an enemy (and even works when performing a counter). It's quite handy! ;D

Biruni University (!)
Examine the barrel next to the house on the map edge right next to your start position in the story battle.
Opens: Foreign Quarter
WARNING: there has been a report of this access only being available during the story battle, and not any longer when returning to this map (aka Skirmish Battle) -> needs to be confirmed though

As I am on my second playthrough (the price I pay for not using the guide for the first :p), I decided to check this out, so that others know if you can or cannot get the map after the story battle.

I can confirm that you CAN get it after the story (aka skirmish battle)! :woop:

The battle begins in the middle of the square, unlike the story mode where it began at the other end of the battlefield. It's just simply a case of running back to the barrel and examining it. Hope this helps you out! It's a great guide, I have been using it for Wanderlust achievement, I won't have been able to get it without this guide!

This game was easy! The only part that required some thought was the last boss. The roadmap made this game even smoother to complete. I appreciate that.

My Wanderlust achievement unlocked without me fighting on all maps. I didn't do the very last treasure map(Gilbaris Gardens), but after I completed the fight at Thane, it popped up. I haven't tested it, but you might not have to complete the treasure maps but they do need to appear on the world map. It would save time on a game that's already short, but you would have some weaker equipment by skipping these optional maps.
