Post yours, with a reason why.

I'll start

Blade Runner is an amazing film, and if the imagery of the film is it's heart; then the soundtrack is most definitely its soul.

or

A good song that matches the immolation of the film.

Is it because this movie won like all of the awards and was nominated for the best movie ever made?

It's from Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, if you've ever seen that movie. ;)

Damn good call on the Watchmen Soundtrack. 3 Bob Dylan songs including the eponymous Hendrix cover of All Along the Watchtower and a pretty sweet, albeit abbreviated, Desolation Row cover by My Chemical Romance. Plus Simon and Garfunkle, Leonard Cohen and Janis Joplin. The movie itself couldn't live up to the legend of the comics, but the first 30 minutes is friggen sweet. The soundtrack embodies what is good about the movie.
And before I get slammed, I remember reading Watchmen every month in 1986-87 and still get chills thinking about how revolutionary it was at the time. (yes I'm old)

Now for my favorite (and truly showing my old age)
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Lud16eTwL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

Knocking on Heaven's door and an incredible mellow yet pain-filled score which echoes the movie (especially the emptiness and betrayal). For those of us who don't think of Emilio as the end-all Billy the Kid-and for those of us who have always thought Kris Kristofferson was a badass even before he was Whistler.

John Williams is still probably the best composer in film. His work is just technically outstanding.

Spun has got the best VA soundtrack I've ever heard. Motley Crue, Darkthrone, Satyricon, Rob Halford, Billy Corgan, Bathory, Ozzy Osbourne... you can't fuck with that.

I'm not sure if I'd call it my favorite but I always thought Clint Mansell's work in Requiem for a Dream perfectly captured the emotion of the film and was just all around perfect.

There Will Be Blood, The Pianist, Schindler's List, The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford, Gladiator. Also Wes Anderson's films always have baddass song selections.

Blade Runner absolutely. Epic and beautiful score by Vangelis. My 2nd favourite film.

Jackie Brown - This is mainly old 60's and 70's black music but there is newer stuff too - it made the film, which for me is arguably QT's best. A total joy to watch this film. The soundtrack is awesome. Tarantino has an ear for a soundtrack!

Morricone films:
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Mission

2001: A Space Odyssey
A Clockwork Orange

All epic and full of emotional depth. Wonderful stuff.

I was looking at some of the other posts and couldn't belive I failed ro mention Trainspotting, There Will be Blood, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and all of the films in which Morricone collaborated with Leone. I also think Tarantino films typically have quality soundtracks.

The Fountain soundtrack. Clint Mansell is the only composer I can think of who has yet to put a single score together I haven't enjoyed. YouTube- Clint Mansell - Death is the Road to Awe.

The film itself wasn't up to much, but I quite liked the soundtrack for Transformers: ROTF

Linkin Park, Theory Of A Deadman and Avenged Sevenfold, my sorta music

That's not saying you can't beat a good old original score though :D

Classic Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park, some of the most memorable themes ever in those movies. Recently I liked the soundtrack to Avatar, and a bit of a lesser known movie, The Village also I felt used music well.

Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite had great soundtracks (don't judge lol)
Watchmen had a pretty good one too. My favorite song from it was in the commercials though. The Beginning is the End is the Beginning by the Smashing Pumpkins.

EDIT: Pulp Fiction is a good one too. Dark Knight's soundtrack had some chilling moments too. First time I saw it I was so tense the first time Joker had the knife in the thug's mouth.

I can only imagine the flak this will cause me to get, but 'Juno' :p

Gotta love obscure indie songs.

I really liked the soundtrack to 'The Fantastic Mister Fox' too. That was such a good movie.

Any movie Goblin did the sound track for, Dawn of the Dead especially, they really did alot for old George A. Romero and Dario Argento movies.
