Hey guys, I read somewhere that you can get a higher science skill by reading a book? Is this true? If so could someone tell me where to find such a book? Thanks.

Yes, reading books improve your skills. There are books that increase every skill.
To increase Science you need to read book called Big Book of Science. Locations of all Science books are here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Book_of_Science

There are 25 books for each skill. Every book you read increases corresponding skill by 1 point (2 points if you take Comprehension perk)

Can't really add much more to this answer

Only that the books will take up 1-2 weight points in your inventory, until you read them, which is when your skills is increased and the book automatically disappears.

They also come in diffrent sizes and some are not books but Magazines, You press A to pick them up, and they are worth a nice amount of caps, You can make them float by clicking in the Right thumb stick while looking at it then moving arround slowly.
