And rules out Thor, Captain America cameos

The sequel to The Incredible Hulk (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/569/569136.html) is dead, at least for now, according to star Edward Norton (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/916/916728.html).

The actor's been doing interviews at SXSW, and has given some Hulk-related updates to a couple of sites. Firstly, Cinematical (http://www.cinematical.com/2010/03/13/ed-norton-says-hulk-sequel-not-happening/) asked the actor if he would appear in any further Hulk movies.

"I don't think so," he said. "I think it has got more to do with what Marvel is doing. I get the sense they have this grand vision of unspooling a lot of their characters and then starting to put them together. I think they can only do so many at a time. Obviously, they are doing Iron Man 2 and then getting some of the new ones out."

The actor also told MTV News (http://splashpage.mtv.com/2010/03/14/edward-norton-talks-hulk-plans/) that he wont be appearing in the likes of Thor (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/041/041031.html) and The First Avenger: Captain America (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/034/034020.html), though Banner could potentially be played by someone else.

Norton hasn't ruled out playing the character in The Avengers (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/769/769931.html) so far, but he certainly doesn't sound that keen to go green once more anytime soon.

so looks like they'll be recasting Hulk then if they plan on making him Cameo in Thor and Captin America, throws a spanner in the works of the Avengers movie.

i love all the 'easter eggs' in the avengers films so far.

The Hulk just won't be the same with Edward Norton :(

That's a shame too because I heard that the '03 Hulk was absolute shit, while the 2008 film with Edward Norton was quite awesome!

I have yet to see either one of them, however, I'll probably just skip the '03 and go right to the '08.

They both suck. However, Norton was good as Banner.

The hulk (the newer one) was pretty good...dont know why he wouldnt want to do it again...I know hulks not the coolest but it wouldnt hurt to see the continuation

well weve still got iron man two, captain america, thor, batman 3(whenever that will come out), spiderman reboot

and if I must say it, superman reboot

and more I didnt even mention

all those in the next few years, we might be set with comic movies even without the hulk

As long as he does The Avengers, I can live without a Hulk sequel or any cameos.

Needless to say, I'm more than excited for The Avengers. When I saw Roberty Downey Jr. at the end of the Hulk flick, I about did backflips. I just hope it doesn't suck.

I can kind of see his point, but at the same time I kind of think it's snobbish.

It's like he is saying "I don't want to spend the next few years of my life making sure I have my schedule clear just for cameo's till I finally get a real role again" I mean what serious actor would?

But by the same token could it be that hard?

I am not an actor though so it might be that hard....

Although Incredible Hulk was good, it wasn't great. Norton had the luck of it being a better film over Ang Lee's HULK (which was shite IMO). I don't see why he wouldn't want to do another film as I heard that it did ok at the cinema's. I mean, it certainly didn't LOSE any money for them....

If they do a new Hulk film, would that actor be commited to doing more than one film though or do we have to suffer a new actor each and every time a Hulk is on-screen ? Is there some sort of curse attached to playing Bruce Banner ?

Does anyone else find it strange that it doesn't say anything about not appearing in a cameo in Iron Man 2? Who knows at this point is all I'm saying :D

Not that big a deal to me. I mean I like Norton and all, but honestly I find the role of Bruce Banner's character pretty interchangable actor wise. Norton was good, but TBH, changing Downey's Iron Man or Willem Dafoe's Goblin or even Alfred Molina's Doc Oc would bother me more. Norton was good, but those guys nailed those roles.

Yes it is. Really disappointed by this. Norton is one of my favorite actors and was looking forward to a part 2 with him in it.:(
