A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ... there was the Green Lantern (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/040/040980.html) Corps.

Temuera Morrison (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/917/917054.html), the New Zealand actor best known for playing Boba's dad Jango Fett (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/963/963061.html) in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, has been cast as Abin Sur (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/142/14229679.html) in the Green Lantern movie. Abin Sur was the Green Lantern who crashed on Earth and passed along the power ring to Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Later in the comics it was learned that he was also the brother-in-law of the villainous Sinestro (Mark Strong).

The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog</B> (http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/03/green-lantern-taps-two-kiwi-actors-exclusive.html) also says that his fellow New Zealander, actor-filmmaker Taika Waititi, has been cast as Hal's best friend.

In addition to Star Wars, Morrison's other credits include The Marine 2, Couples Retreat, Vertical Limit, Speed 2: Cruise Control, The Island of Dr. Moreau, Barb Wire and Once Were Warriors.

it's quite nice to hear some more news on the Green Lantern. i was unsure of how far this film would actually go, and kinda thought it would be scrapped with Renalds apparantly reprising is role as Deadpool in its own spin off.

so any news is good news to me!

I guess, nobody is a DC fan, or Green Lantern fan... either would be quite upsetting.

And as long as Geoff Johns keeps an eye on the direction it's going, it should turn out..
well, decent. And that's really exciting news, Abin Sur, you sonuvabitch.
