View Full Version : Is this game really 20-25 hours for 1000G?

I'm at about 15 hours in and it says I have 45% completion... Is it normal?

I don't think I played particularily slow... Well, I didn't skip through the dialogues so much but I never got stuck for 2-3 hours on a single thing.

At this rate, and considering that I heard the last boss would take a lot of grinding, I'd expect this game to last probably 35-45 hours instead of 20-25?

Unless the % completion is messed up? Maybe it's like those Grand Theft Auto games in which completing the storyline only gets you about 60% completion of the total game?

Any help is appreciated, I'd also be curious to know how long it took you (game time) to get 1000G in it.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that time is okay for that percentage, I was about there, I think. Maybe a little less, but I was sorta under-leveled. And the percentage is fine. It seemed to start going up in big chunks later on for me (around Kyoto, which you should be going to now, right?).

And it takes more than 20 hours. Maybe 25... but really, it's closer to 30. I finished it in just over 29. I got to the last boss around 26 hours, then I did a few side-quests (the shrines) to level myself up.

The last bosses do take some grinding (at least for me). I used the four human characters and they were all about level 55, I think. When you level at the final shrine it really doesn't take too long to get to that level, either. And the bosses were pretty easy after that. I really didn't have any trouble with any of them at all.

i think it takes more then 25 hours. i have 12 hours in already and i only have 350/1000. it might be 25 hours if you skip all the cutsceans but that ruins the fun of the game

Yeah right now I'm at 77% completion according to the game and I am 25 hours in already. I was slow and sometimes let the game on while eating dinner etc. though.

I'm going to casino-grind a few hours too but I would expect the game to take about 33-34 hours for me. Maybe more if the final boss takes me a few tries.

That time is set for people who will fly through the game. I'm not the biggest fan of cutscenes in games that are boring. I'm sure it is possible to 1000g in 20-25 hours but your going to have to want to rush through it not take your time. They are just giving you the fastest possible time you could get 1000g technically they should put 20-50 hours or 60 or however long someone would want to grind out to max xp.

I see, that makes sense now, thanks

Maybe if you skip all the cut scenes and never take a break you can finish this game in 25 hrs. I've been grinding here and there, never too much and I got to the end boss at lvl 49 with about 35 hrs into it. This is one of those games however that the timer still ticks even when you pause the game to go into the menu. A lot of the time I can't just sit gaming for hours without getting up to pee, let the dog out, get a drink etc. so I'm sure I have a lot less than 35 hrs into it.

On a different note I have found that getting to the end at lvl 49 it is damn near IMPOSSIBLE to get through all the final battles . I'm gonna go do some grindin and I'll be back aroung lvl 60. I WILL get 1000 in this game lol.

This game just flows quickly since its so linear. Once you start to level-grind and begin chasing after items(especially if you go in the bonus dungeon) you will be over 25 hours. I think I was 60+ hours in when I beat the game finally. But I love to level grind and get all items and stuff so I'm used to never beating a game quickly even if it is short. But you shouldn't be able to beat this game in 25 hours unless you've got some sp or gold codes. The game isn't complicated but not a complete cake walk. The bosses can hurt you.

I finished this one in about 18-19 hours. I had a good time playing through it, and it was my first 1k 100% complete game. If you want a laugh, play through it in Japanese with subtitles....

im at 500/1000 GS right now, suspended due to many games that i've bought lately, well im at something like 20-30h right now, but i do take it slow and watch every video and read completely every passage (most of the time its funny XD), they're all around lvl 25 so i guess if you need such a hight lvl to finish the game, i better start grinding asap XD

This game took me about 30 hours to complete. Just take your time through the game and you'll be fine.

Just have fun with it imo, do the money boosting tip with the casino. Buy everything you can use. The achievements are pretty straight forward, just complete the story. As I doubt you'll want to play through it all over again. lol.

My first playthrough took 34-36 hours, iirc. I can't remember which, but I know it was mid thirties. This was with every golem, all cut-scenes and a lot of casino grinding.

I started replaying it a while ago on this account, and this time I'm going cut-scene-lite and battling naturally. So far, I'm tearing through it, but I know that the fights get a lot tougher when heading towards Kyoto.

just finished at around 51 hours which included god weapons and holy beast shrine + hours of boosting by casino

I remember looking back and having like a 20 percent completion, idk maybe it was for the golems

Nah. It's more like 40. You need to grind to get some good stuff to buy. Grinding takes a lot of hours.

22 hours, 64% of completion...

20-25 hours, my arse!

Even if you could get to the final bosses in that time, there is no way you would make it through them at that level. 15 hours solid leveling and I still struggle to make it past Final Boss 1 (of 7!) There probably are some lucky people out there that can do it in that time, but, for the majority I feel, it can't be done quickly. Its not that easy either.

Maybe my RPG days are over. Maybe I should retire with a nice easy Simulator or somthing... (AFTER Skyrim)

I took my time and it took a hair over 60 hours for me to complete it. I did a lot of walking around, leveling up and probably spent 10-15 hours playing roulette in the casino. A lot better game than I thought it was going to be when I first started though.

I know that I put a lot of hours into this. My biggest problem was just before the finale trying to run around and grind up to a high enough level. I didn't bother with upgrading everything, I lost interest in the game well before that would have been a plan.

I think the game took me close to 40hours to beat...and crazy enough, I really enjoyed the game.

ahaha no. Even with the SP farming it does not even come near that small amount of time.

It depends I've played a lot of RPG's and the time in the roadmap is usually more or less accurate. It depends if you are skipping cut-scenes dialogue etc etc. Personally sometimes in certain games I felt inclined to do a lot extra not necessarily needed for all the Achievements. :)

I think the games takes more like 40-50 hours to complete; 20 hours is definitely not enough time to complete it.

Easily done in that time, it personally didn't take me long. Just use the Casino exploit and the OP golem to 1 hit bosses.

I was at aroudn 25 hours before my fist attempt to defeat the Ice Queen. She killed me to fast (I was around lvl 45) and now I'm on the 4th floor of the bonus dungeon and at 29 hours. I hope to be done at the 40 hour mark.

The 20-25 hour mark will be if you follow the achievement guide and Wreckon Dragon's tactical guide flawlessly. You will use up a lot of hours in the beginning just getting all the chips in the casino, but once you are done with that you are massively over powered and can fly through the game, plus, crucially, you'll be able to stop random encounters, so actually moving through the entire game from beginning to end would take an hour or 2 at most (not counting cut scenes and chit chat which you will either read or avoid as you see fit). If you're moving through the game without power leveling early, then it will actually take closer to the 50 hour mark because either way you will have to grind for SP before you can take the queen.

On my other account, it took me about 30-40 hours. But hey, at least the achievements are straight-though.

I'm at 37 hours just before the final area of boss battles so I'm just on holy beast shrine to level up a bit and complete the last side quest.
