It will be 40 ms points, and no you can't get medals. It's like demos and achievements.

Paying tokens in someone else's arcade is basically buying another demo try. The game kicked me off after staying alive for so long.

You can however earn medals and achievements for paying single plays (40 points)

Is that the only way to get the "play a friends game" achievement? pay 50 cents?

What if you both have the game and just want to challenge each other, do you have to pay?

You can play challenges on your own arcade but I'm not sure how the 2 player vs games work.

Heh, sound like a good way for MS to capitalize off achievement whores.

Unfortunately

Actually, I got mine a different way.

My girlfriend and I both have gamertags, I was able to buy a game using MY tag, and she was able to put it in HER arcade. Went to her arcade, played the game (free after initial purchase) and viola. 5g

On the menu screen, click on Friends. Then click on the friend who's arcade you'd like to enter. When viewing that page, press X. It tells you to near the bottom of the screen. This should take you to your friend's arcade.

I thought they said that if playing in a friend's arcade, the games would be free. Kinda lame that it isn't. What's the point of going to your friend's arcade? You can play all of them in the store or showcase.

Basically just to see what games they own and how they decorate.

I bought Shaolin Road and challenged some friends to play, as I thought they would be able to play it in my arcade for free. It seems that they still have to buy the game or pay for a single session to compete in the challenge. This is the only challenge I've been in involved in so far, so I'm not sure of the deal.

Is this what others have been seeing?

Yes. you have to own the game to accept the challenge.
