View Full Version : Release date changed to 14 of May?

Anyone knows about this?
At my local game supplier the date has changed to the 14th of May, exactly 1 week ahead of the normal release.

There is a thread on the Alan Wake forums where someone says Polish Microsoft states 14 May as a new release date..

I'm getting worried.
Usually this is a good thing, a game getting an earlier release date then planned. But thing time my girlfriends birthday is on the 14th! D:

Ok, to spam my thread even more.

Look at this page now,

What I assume is a Remedy employe says "May 14". Nothing more.
What the hell!?

You know, you could use the edit button....;)

I'm not too sure about a release date at this point, it's been so long, where as I don't expect to see this game at all. Whether 14 May, 2010 is true, I'll be looking forward to it. You can be sure of that. :D

Looks like Europe is getting it a week early.

Ah yes. Dang it. Guess I'll have to work something out with my girlfriend D:

Yea May 14th for Europe, but in U.S. still May 18th along with: Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands and Red Dead Redemption. May 18th is gonna be one good day.

Releasing earlier a good decicion I think since the release of red dead is the 21th here in europe. I think they could release even sooner as they already finished it: http://forum.alanwake.com/showthread.php?t=3245
But I guess the 5 weeks of hype and drumroll will do good for the sells ;)

EDIT: Btw, does any1 know the official PEGI rating yet? I've seen many stories about this with a +16 but pegi has yet to put the rating on their website... The esrb is teen, I think, and bbfc 15. I know that pegi can be unconsistent (hl2+16, mass effect 1/2 +18) sometimes :(
I went hard enough times with my "overprotective" parents to get AC 1 & 2 (as I'm only near 17) and I wouldn't be happy to go through that again...

I don't think the rating has been decided yet.

The new video up on Live has also +16. It seems a bit odd that some of the official videos are already labeled with a rating if pegi has not rating yet... I guess I'll just have to wait

Have you checked http://marketplace.xbox.com ?
Maybe there is a rating there..

Nope, not even in the game picture. I guess the official rating will come in a couple of weeks as the game is finished now...

Little update on the EU rating -front. I just read the press release from Microsoft Finland that stated the earlier release date and it mentioned the PEGI rating to be +16:Bounce: I find it really hard to believe that they would state that if it wasn't certain so my worries might be over. There is still the fact that the game went "gold" a few days after that statement, I think, but I guess the game can't change that much in such a short time. I still can't believe pegi has no mention of the rating on their website as microsoft clearly knows it already...
