wat do u think of the mile high club??

best level of any game ever...kinda seemed a bit like time crisis on the arcade machines the way you are forced through a narrow hall, except you get to move yourself...but yeh i only had a few goes, then left it for ages...watched a youtube vid of someone doing it and then had another go at it, beat it first time :)

04-04-2010, 12:23 AM
I hated it, until I finally beat it. It pissed me off farther more than any online game.

04-04-2010, 01:08 AM
of course it was total BS to a certain degree....it was funny because my brother was like a millisecond away from the hostage when time ran out.....needless to say he was pissed and quit...hasnt been back since

I did it with an extreme amount of patience and luck, i thought i missed and hit the hostage and was about to cry

04-04-2010, 01:14 AM
Good level. I feel like people way over exaggerate the difficulty of it though.

You took the words right out of my mouth

I left it as a last achievement to bring me back to the game, after leaving it for a year sittng on the shelf I went and spent an hour getting it. I loved the fact they threw in a bonus mission.

This achievement is SO frustrating!! haha but it's fun

04-13-2010, 07:03 PM
Eurgh. I only just picked this up after playing MW2. Breezed through the whole game and then gave this a try.

I keep getting right to the end and having literally 1 second left before I get to the guy. It's a bit of a BS luck based achievement, since I've copied 2 guides perfectly and your still at the whim of that one stray guy that moves off course or a lucky quick death.

I've only been trying it for about 2 hours, but man it's a pain. Wish I had someone I could just hand the controller over to do it.

04-13-2010, 10:27 PM
This was the last and hardest mission in the game in my opinion, yet was fun to conquer it.

R34 ftw
04-13-2010, 10:32 PM
What a pain that was. Felt so good to get it though.
Flashbangs are key.

04-13-2010, 11:37 PM
Managed to get it done. What a winner.

I shit myself when I got to the VIP stage, and my bloody gun had to be reloaded in slow motion, still managed the shot though!

BS and WTF got married and had a kid. The name of the kid is "Mile High Club".

That's what I think of this achievement. God, how many hours and luck do I need....

T'was a bitch, but very satisfying to be able to say that I beat it. It was like a badge of honor, and still in a sense that half of my friends haven't beat it.

04-19-2010, 09:38 AM
I enjoyed the challenge of mile high and it felt good beating it.

04-20-2010, 02:44 AM
Lol I got this achievement a couple months ago but I was so pissed because after like an hour I finally got to the VIP part and I didn't know you had to shoot his head so it's like "True veterans always go for headshots!".

But after another hour I finally got it, pain in the butt.

04-20-2010, 03:37 AM
it was hard, i gave up, wasnt really going for it 100%

04-20-2010, 05:29 AM
I thought it was so hard I could've cried and I didn't think I'd get the achievement but I did I can't begin to say how I got it it took time and using the switching weapons method and I remember afer getting the second set of flashbangs I sprayed the walls with the machine gun went foward switched to my pistol had to shot 2 more guys and rans to the doors shot the bad guy in the head and once I could exit the plane I was so excited and bang it poped up but here's one piece of advice try to stay calm and try to be up the stairs at the 30 to 27 seconds left and that's the best I can say though I kept wishing it would give you a minute and 5 seconds but Iwas able to manage,so just thought I would say my experience with this level, but it's so easier on hard cuz u can take 4 to 5 shots where on veteran it can be only 3 shots so good luck to those who haven't completed on Veteran and those trying 2 get it.

04-20-2010, 05:30 AM
It sure does feel good after beating it and to be one that finally beat it it felt so great when the achievement unlocked and this sounds very stupid but I took a picture of it when it poped up with a camera that's how honored I felt and congrats 2 the ppl who got it and like I said before good luck to anyone whos trying 2 get it.

04-24-2010, 09:13 PM
I think I'm going to try and beat it after I go through and get all the intel items. I played it 10 times already and raged. I needa take a break.

Definitely in my top 5 hardest achievements.

04-26-2010, 12:38 PM
Who ever made the achievement should be shot.

Who ever made the achievement should be shot.

Great achievement, sorts the chumps from the SAS.

04-29-2010, 10:15 AM
an overrated achievement imo it is not that easy to get, but there are much harder ones =D

04-29-2010, 06:16 PM
Back in the day when COD 4 came out I've been trying mile high club for some time. After a few hours I finally made it till the hostage part. But I was stressing so hard that I accidentally trew a flashbang and couldn't see sh*t anymore.... Fired some random shots but that apparently made me shoot the wrong guy. Never tried it again after this fail.

04-29-2010, 06:21 PM
I got it today and it was a good little challenge. I'm an old skool gamer and it was good to have a level where you had to memorise every move you made and keep practising. It took me three days off half hour attempts throughout the day, but it was majorly satisfying and definitely a badge of honur, for sheer patience if not skill!

Did anyone else notice once you'd got the hang of the first batch of enemies the rest was a lot easier

04-30-2010, 11:51 AM
yeah, it's a hard achievement put search on youtube for a turorial, and try i did after 1-2 h.

the secret is to reload in the right spot/time, where to throw the flashbang so it lands in the right spot.

when you know that i's a pieace of cake.

after i knowed that part i did it in 2 tries.

05-04-2010, 01:17 AM
Took me a long time to get and now ive done it for 2 of my mates within 10 attempts

05-04-2010, 02:43 AM
I loved it! It was challenging which I love in a game and gave me my money's worth. I must've spent around 12 hours with it for a tasty 20:gsicon: achievement.

05-15-2010, 02:35 PM
Good level. I feel like people way over exaggerate the difficulty of it though.

Well said. This achievement is a piece of piss compared to some others on the 360. If some people in this thread tried Ninja Gaiden 2 they would probably have a heart attack :p

05-31-2010, 07:47 PM
got it at last today. took me 8 hours of practice
best level so far

05-31-2010, 09:37 PM
By far the hardest achievement I have ever gotten, took me about 10 days, about an hour to an hour and a half every day, trying to get it, I actually failed at the hostage part once, and the second time around, I missed the first shot, said "CRAP!", realized I had 1.2 seconds left, closed my eyes, took the shot, and stared in awe as the terrorist fell to the ground.

06-03-2010, 09:59 PM
Another way in which IW outdone Treyarch imo.

06-06-2010, 12:09 AM
Pretty tough level to beat, but for the most part it's just a case of remembering where to throw flashes and where the enemies are.
Spent around an hour on it earlier, very rarely made it to the stairs, then spent another hour on it just now. Finally did it about 10 mins ago.
Sometimes I wouldn't make it past the first 2 guys, and a few times I died at the top of the stairs. Only once made it to the the bit past the stiars, before the time I beat it anyway. Was a close one when I did complete it, cornered by 3 enemies behind the last row of seats, just fired until I was out of ammo. Made it with about 3 seconds to spare.

I spent far longer on other cheevos, it's still one I'm gonna be proud to have though.

Now to beat the rest of the game on Veteran.
Get them done tomorrow, 3 days, 1000G :woop:

i threw my controller about a yr ago cuz it got me so pissed. picked the game back up last week tried about 20-30 times and again no luck, so i looked it up on youtube and tried it exactly how the video did and BAM got it in 1 try lol. Luck i suppose but glad i finelly got 1000/1000

06-08-2010, 11:15 AM
It's an achievement people seem to have a hard time with. All you have to do is find a strategy that works for you, and move it. Watch a couple of youtube videos, incorporate a couple of different moves, get the achievement, call it a day.

Quite hard to get, but once yourv'e done it once, you can do it 1000's off times.

06-10-2010, 09:22 PM
gave up on this a long time ago.

06-14-2010, 12:30 AM
Just finished it...what a BITCH! I think I ran through it 170 times...but I got it after a total of about six hours over two nights--I think the Call of Duty Veteran achievements are probably the most satisfying achievements amongst all 360 games. 1000 GS CoD 4!!!

06-17-2010, 09:34 AM
The achievement is definitely the mark of a real Call of Duty veteran.

06-17-2010, 06:14 PM
Trying to take this on at the moment. Absolute nightmare but I'm enjoying the challenge.

This. Didn't think it was hard. At all. I did it like, fifth try at most.
