I just finished playing Gears of War after getting 1000 points on it. I played for over 2 months non stop to get the 10000 kills. Im now ready to move on to COD3. Im just wondering are the online achivements in COD3 harder to get than in Gears? I have the single players ones already.

yes, gears is pie compared to this..

40,000 points is like 40,000 kills

flag captures give you like...6 points..you can do the math

but 10x funner than gears of crap...gets a little old though...but shit i think you can take it mr. non-stop-2 months gears man:p joking...but cod3 is a little longer to get all online

good luck if you try:)

I think the online ahcievments are really boring, like you said they resemble gears, there kind on time consuming, but if you play the game alot and get plenty of kills you'll be on your way in no time.

The 40k achivement is much more time consuming than the Gears 10k one. Not only do you have to do more but it takes longer to find games.

Most of the other non-kill online ones are easy but itll take time, a lot of time to max this out

hardest achievents are colonel (20000 pts.) general (40000 pts.) and grizzled veteran (complete SP on veteran) Veteran difficulty is much harder then insane on GoW.

They aren't hard, just VERY time consuming. I was a huge fan of CoD2 online, but this one really isn't enjoyable IMO.

I think the multi achievements for this game are a real chore unless you love it.

Yeah.. the 20,000 points and 40,000 points will take anyone a long time. It's probably the equivalent of someone getting 10,000 kills in Gears of War, just because you can get a lot of kills in one game compared to Gears.

Yeah i would say call of duty online achs are harder. it takes over a week+ to get 2,000.. and one achievment is 40,000. 200 points, 2,000 then 8,000 i think then 20,000 i think then 40,000. Its a bit redic. Its fun online, but not as good as COD2.

The matches have to be ranked though and finding ranked matches has proved near impossible for me. I've yet to find a single ranked match, and I've waited very long amounts of time in the past for people to show up. I gave up long ago on finding ranked matches, let alone get the achievements. I'm really good in the non-ranked matches though so it sucks :(

Online is a lot of fun. At first it is hard to get kills and score points, but once you get experience the online is very easy. A person could reasonably get 30 to 40 points per match once they get used to it.

You really need to stop bumping old threads. This is ridiculous. In other forums, not just this one, you have been bumping threads that no one has posted anything in for almost a year. You must stop.

What's bad in bumping old threads? No sarcasm here.

It just clutters up the front page with threads that nobody wants to read/post in or that everyone has already posted in, and bumps out the more recent ones.
