Predator Scribes to take on Master of the Universe!

UK, April 12, 2010 - Having spent years festering in development hell, it looks like the He-Man movie is set to receive a new lease of life, with Columbia assigning two writers to the long-gestating project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/04/masters-of-the-universe-screenwriters.html), Mike Finch (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/912/912303.html) and Alex Litvak - who caused something of a sensation with their Medieval (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/143/14357603.html) script last year - have been brought on board to rebuild the project from the ground up.

The pair most recently worked on the script for the forthcoming Predators (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/429/429477.html) movie, and with that project shifting from script to screen in little over a year, the signs are looking good for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/571/571722.html).

THR has little in the way of plot details at this time, but claims that in their pitch, "The scribes attempted to balance a treatment that would convince the studio it was cinematic and keep the toy company satisfied that its characters were being portrayed appropriately."

Unfortunately, I expect this movie to be awful which is a shame seeing as Skeletor is the greatest villian of all time. I'll definitely be seeing it however no matter how bad it is.

It's not like the last one was good or anything. I mean, yeah it's a classic, but a remake is definitely something that could help bring He-Man to his feet again.

It seems like all the comic book/retro super hero movies these days are hit or miss...hopefully they dont' destroy a childhood favorite...

Oh, good news! But i rather see The Rock play as Black Adam :) He should stop doing Disney films... ahh Scorpion King was good until he joined Disney. Or stop making films and come back to wrestling, nowadays wrestling sucks. Back then with Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker (the old one with bike, before he turned gay pretend his dead every time...). Now Kennedy is gone no point watching wrestling, he was the last hope of wrestling.
