I initially posted this on the Xbox.com and BioWare Social Network forums, but responses are limited and I'm looking for as much assistance as possible. What is below is a compilation of posts from Xbox and BSN forums. Please offer any assistance you can. I have added links to my motherboard to help you to help me, LOL.

The following is a compilation of some posts I made on Xbox.com forums. I'm posting here as well since I want to get as much input/help as possible:

I would say that my console has been dying ever since March 31. I have a Xenon Xbox 360 manufactured in mid 2006.

I have had 3 Red Rings show up twice in the past, but that was after a game froze, then turned back on immediately afterword. All I had to do was wait a minute later then it worked just fine afterword for months. I also had the Optical Drive replaced when under warranty but I still have the same console.

On March 31, I got 2 Red Rings. The only way to turn off my console when I get 2 Red Rings is to unplug the AC Power Cord, in which the console automatically restarts so I have to turn it off again. I waited a few minutes when I got that then played. About 30 minutes later I got 2 Red Rings again. When I restarted my console I got 3 Red Rings which lasted all day. The next day my console worked just fine. Four days later I got 2 Red Rings again and just left my console alone for the day. When the USB Update went through, my console worked just fine. I restarted my console on my own again even though the update does that. I got 3 Red Rings. My console worked fine afterword for hours. Yesterday I got 2 Red Rings again making that the 4th time (3rd day) in 2 weeks.

I'm apparently out of warranty. So, breaking warranty isn't really a problem but I don't have any intentions of modifications.

Does anyone have any recomendations for keeping my console alive as long as possible? I want to keep my console alive till I can first of all afford a new console. Plus I am waiting for the rumored Xbox 360 Slim (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/ben-heck-ponders-xbox-360-slim-motherboard-memory-unit-support/).

If I understand the support page, 2 Red Rings is an overheating issue. I've always kept my console in an open area. The only item connected through USB is my Wireless Network Adapter. I also play games from my HDD. I let my console lay horizontally. The only idea I've thought of so far is to get my small desk fan and blow air into the right side opening (since that is where air is sucked in).

I've been looking for information on 2 Red Rings. As far as I know, if I don't do something to fix the minor issue now, just like an infection, it will get worse and may lead to 3 Red Rings and permanent failure.

What I understand I need to check for so far:
-Dust build up in the heatsinks and interior (I've heard this is a huge contributor to 2 Red Rings)
-Thermal Paste wear
-Fan function
-Power Brick issues
-While I'm at it, make sure the GPU is locked in well (as to be prepared for possible 3 Red Rings, add rubber washers to X-Clamp screws)

Any recomendation replacement PC fans? I'm still weary about puting in different fans than the stock ones. But, if all I have to do to put in a replacement fan is to connect it to a plug, then I doubt that is a bannable offense. Especially since you [the individual helping my on the Xbox forums] said that you have been playing with PC fans (online I assume) and have not had a console ban.

I think I've figured out what caused my 2 Red Rings, look at the amount of dust blocking the intakes for the heatsinks.

What's the best and safest way to remove the dust? I'm thinking of taking the X-Clamps off to remove the heatsinks to renew them as much as possible. Also, I'm thinking of checking and replacing the thermal paste. I'm just really worried about being extra extra careful and not damaging anything.

I had to buy Torx T8 and T10 screwdrivers today. That was a pain in the quantum singularity to find. I wanted security ones so that I could take one of my controllers apart to fix the B button. A friend of mine dropped it on hard floor in my dorm bashing in the B button. It works but doesn't click.

Since I have no knowledge of this. Does it look like my GPU & CPU need a new application of Thermal Paste? Do I need to remove any of it, if so how? I want to add that the GPU & CPU feel dry, I assume that the Thermal Paste is dried out.

Would you recomend replacing the GPU Heatsink with something such as this one?

Should I replace the fans? How are these? Can anyone else confirm I won't get banned for replacing the fans?

Is this recomended to prevent more overheating and possible 3 Red Rings failure?

Although the talismoon after market parts are good to be honest they are not really needed.
If you havent already opened the 360's shell i'd take it to gamestation and trade it in.
They are offering 70 cash or 80 store credit. Then put it towards buying a new model.
Or even ebay it. You can easily buy one for the same price you sell yours for.
Failing that all you really need to do is do the xclamp mod/fix.
It's not really a daunting process and can be done in about 20-30 mins.
