The Pirates crew have reportedly added another member to their ranks.

Production Weekly tweets (http://twitter.com/prodweek) that British actor Stephen Graham (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/143/14320300.html) (Snatch, Gangs of New York, The Damned United, Baby Face Nelson in Public Enemies) has been cast as "Scram" in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/859/859550.html).

The fourth installment in Disney's blockbuster franchise shoots this summer in Hawaii under the direction of Rob Marshall. Johnny Depp reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush returns as Barbossa. In addition to Graham, other new cast members include Ian McShane as the villainous Blackbeard and Penelope Cruz as his daughter.

Terry Rossio & Ted Elliot penned the screenplay for producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is slated for release May 20, 2011.

I've really been slacking on my movie news, did not realize that the 4th installment was a lock.

I'm a big fan of the other three, so I'm glad to hear this.

Unneccesery sequal alert

They wrapped it up quite nicely with the 3rd as Jack escaped Barbosa with the map and it's better to leave it to the audience to decide what happened next. This will probably ruin the whole series.

I'm looking forward to this, but it's a shame that Gore Verbinski isn't helming this one. I'm sure it will be a decent film as I think that Jonny Depp was going to be involved with some of the behind-the-camera stuff as well as being in front of it...

Stupid meme

Is that supposed to be a good thing, or a bad thing? Never mind. Forget I asked, I don't care. Memes - and the people who use them - never make sense to me.

Although I feel the movies have been declining in quality, I'll end up watching it anyway.

Ian McShane portraying Blackbeard will be pretty good. I honestly wasn't looking forward to another Johnny Depp pirate movie, but this is gonna make me see it.

I simply do not see the point in this sequel. That's wry.

I thought the third film proved that writing a movie while on acid was a bad idea? I'll always love the first one, and the second one up until Johnny Depp spends the last half of the movie riding around on a giant wooden wheel. But the third one just didn't do it for me...I distinctly remember when I saw it in theatres I wasn't even sure if I was in the right cinema for the first 20 minutes or so :/
