Introduction:
Welcome to the Bomberman: Act Zero Roadmap! This game contains 50 achievements. 15 online and 35 offline. This game is Konami’s dark macabre spin-off from their usual Bomberman fanfare. Bomberman: Act Zero’s poor reviews, lifeless graphics and its dishearteningly imposing achievement list makes this game appeal only to the most determined achievement hunters. Although not difficult, since 700 points is possible within the first 10-15 hrs, Act Zero’s final achievements is a game completionist’s nightmare.

Online Achievements Walkthrough:
Online exclusive achievements include 3 Room Master achievements, 4 Battle Royal achievements, and 5 Battle Score achievements for a total of 315 gamerscore. All online achievements can be boosted with one other account. Multiple accounts may speed up the kill count, but not the battlescore earned per win so there is no real benefit to having more than one other boosting partner.

The fastest method to achieve all online achievements is to create ranked, Battle Royal online matches in standard mode instead of the FPB mode. Player 1 will be boosting 100 consecutive kills in Battle Royal, and during this process; every consecutive kill increases the battlescore earned, effectively boosting all three achievements at the same time. If at any time player 1 dies in Battle Royal however, the kill count and battlescore bonuses are reset to zero. It will take more than 100 rooms to earn 1 million battlescore, so ensure that Player 1 earns that achievement before moving on to Player 2’s turn.

The three joke achievements of Pressure Block, Self and Draw can also be boosted in matches, but is unnecessary since they are tracked in single player games as well.

Single Player Achievements Walkthrough:
If you are going for game completion, this is where you will be spending a majority of your time. There are 10 achievements for simply completing 99 levels without running out of lives, and 3 more timed based achievements that stack for completing single player mode in less than 100 minutes. Expect to spend around two and a half hours maximum playing single player since there are no opportunities to save progress. All achievements not online specific can be earned through repeatedly playing single player.

Although there are several methods to completing this task, the most consistent way found to complete this task is to play in Standard mode. Single Battle FPB mode is not recommended, but on the 4th floor and every 8th floor afterwards, by not moving from your starting position for one minute releases Secret Panel 5 that raises your life bar to max 999 points. The extra life will increase your comfort zone greatly, but does not guarantee success. After level 20, life power ups become incredibly plentiful making you hard to kill, but you still have to be cautious because being hit by bomb blasts can still cause you to lose your power ups. Also, note that being crushed by blocks will end your run, regardless of how much life you have accumulated.

In either play style, the most important power ups you must obtain as soon as possible are the Line Bomb, Penetrating Bomb and Infinite Bomb. You should have maxed out your blast radius and speed as well as received those three upgrades as soon as level 10-15. The trick to fast round completion is to clear the field of soft blocks as quickly as possible by tossing lines of penetrating bombs in a cross section that still gives you a safe spot and does not give any AI opponent anywhere to hide. Use this link (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showpost.php?p=2995692&postcount=2) as a visual aid to better understand the provided advice. Bomb through and Wall through power ups are not necessary, but can be useful. At your fastest, expect to complete each round around 15-20 seconds each and watching a lot of loading screens.

Secret panels can be classified as, “Missable achievements,” but reference the provided achievement guide on how to acquire them.

The Ugly Truth, or The Estimated Grind Time:
Every round has an average of 70 blocks, and at 100 rounds (for the sake of an even number), that’s estimated 7000 soft blocks every 2-3 hours. To reach 1,000,000 soft blocks, you must play at least 143 99-round single player games. The down side is that only blocks that you destroyed count, so your actual progress will be much lower per game since the AI does it's part in destroying the soft blocks in every level.

143 games at 3 hours a game equals 429 hours or 17.8 days of game time minimum. Hope you really love Bomberman.

Conclusion:
If Bomberman: Act Zero was presented like its other variants, then it could potentially have been one of the more active games on xbox 360. Unfortunately it is seen as the infamous anti-achievement game as bland as the reviews and the visuals that even traditionally fun gameplay cannot redeem. Achievement hunters be wary, because the road ahead will be a very long and lonely one.

8/10?
More like 11/10! Time does/should contribute to the difficulty >_>

I thought I would point out that your math was incorrect. If there are 70 blocks per round and 100 rounds that would be 7000 blocks per play through. 1000000/7000= 142.85. So you have approximatley 143 plays through single player at 2 to 3 hours a piece. Meaning it is closer to 429 hours for the 1000000 blocks achievement.

I completely disagree that time should contribute. You could have a game where all you have to do is press A 100,000,000 times, that isn't hard it would just take an obscene amount of time.

I wish it was 7000 a playthrough. And 143 playthroughs would almost be reasonable. (For some crazy people.) But 70 x 100 is 700.

Don't worry, it seems they accounted for mindless grind time and added a point to difficulty. So its a recommended 9/10.

if 70 X 100=700 then what is 7 X 100? Your math is definitely off. See the trend below:
100 X 1= 100
100 X 2= 200
100 X 3= 300
100 X 4= 400
100 X 5= 500
100 X 6= 600
100 X 7= 700
100 X 8= 800
100 X 9= 900
100 X 10= 1000
100 X 11= 1100

Ok, I'm a bit confused now. I get that the math was wrong but what is the new estimated time for 1000 in this game?

Ok, when I realized that my calculator was consistently giving me bad results. I threw it away. I try to check my work at least a few times before posting. My math was wrong and I have made corrections to the roadmap. Thanks guys.
