Got Avatar the day it came out on Bluray. Even though I have a '32 Panasonic LCD with only 720p, I must say it still looks bloody effing amazing. Anyone else pick it up and watch it in amazement? I saw it in 3D as well in the theaters.

No, not really my kind of movie. However, I was just at Target tonight buying some Lil Debbie snacky cakes and some dryer sheets and they had like 500 copies of Avatar on display. So-if you need to get your blue people fix on and can't find no smurfs up in there, Target's got you covered.

I got it right now, but it's for my grandpa. :(

I only get the dvd if he has a blue ray player.

Ooooh I forgot Avatar came out today!

I'd love to get it on Blu-ray but the drive on my computer is very tempermental and won't play most Blu-rays *sigh*

Think I'll have to just get the regular DVD one :(

i think this movie was a bit overrated and the storyline was a bit poor and for those reasons its a pass from me!

Saw the movie in 3D in the cinema, and watched in 2D at home last night.

Personally I found it a bit disappointing second time round - knowing where all the 3D stuff was supposed to be happening, yet it all staying in a less than glorious 2D.

Possibly could have tried smoking more weed... :)

I have watched the blu-ray copy at home and found it to be just as expected for a mainly CGI film, can't say I was impressed with how it looked.
The film was a bit meh aswell, but the missus loved it, I guess it all boils down to personal taste.

My parents borrowed the standard DVD copy off my brother and watched it over the weekend. They said that after seeing it in the cinema, watching Avatar on standard definition TV was nothing in comparison.

Personally, I wanna watch it on a 27 inch iMac. That shit looks better than in the cinema!

I was going to pick this up and then I saw that it came with zero extras. This is one of the few films that I would be interested in, in watching the extras. Therefore I'm holding out until I can borrow a copy or until they bring out the inevitable Special Edition.

I watched this film on DVD and thought it was ok. I wanted to watch it in 3D but didn't have the time. I also think that it has a similar storyline with Dances with Wolves =P.

I don't like the fact that they released this as a bare-bones 2-D disc knowing full well that they plan on releasing a box set and 3-D dis c down the line

I am a huge fan of bonus features and commentary. This movie was amazingin 3D, and as much as I want the blu-ray, i just can't bring myself to buy it 2x. So I am waiting for a collectors edition, which is slated for a fall release.

Yep, BluRay for me.
Love the movie.

Don't mean to be a dick to those without a BluRay player/PS3, but I think seeing it in SD would kill it quite a bit for me after seeing it in 3D and in HD.

Yeah. I got the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. It's nice that I can take it to a friends house if they don't have a blu-ray player.

Shockingly bad film that forgets plot and replaces it with stunning visuals. If I want to look at something pretty for 3 hours I'll stare at my holiday pics from the Caribbean. And 22 for a bare-bones Blu-ray, when they already admitted they will be releasing a special edition later in the year? No thanks. Not much I hate more than obvious money grabbing from greedy studios/directors.

I got it for BR also and the picture was amazing. I probably enjoyed the quality of that more then the actual movie. I wish I got to see it in IMAX 3d but never got to.
