I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.

In about two weeks I will be moving out of my college dorm. This past year I have been using my roommates xbox as I don't actually have my own. I may get my own 360 during the summer.
What I want to know is what is the safest way (or the correct way) to take my profile with me?

Since the recent update occurred, you can put anything on a flash drive from your xbox 360. I'd recommend transferring your saves and profile to a Flash Drive since they are cheaper than an Xbox memory card.

Thats what I was thinking, I have a high quality 1gb flash drive that I think I can trust with the profile.

I'm just trying to avoid what happened here http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=211783&highlight=moving+profile

That issue is actually out of the ordinary.
I've used a memory card multiple times since I've had my 360 (which is almost two years now) and I have never once came across that error.

I'd say go ahead and try it out; the chances of it succeeding outweigh it failing.

Yeah using a flash drive is the safest but copy your profile and saves first so that way if it doesn't work they will still be on the original xbox.

I would go for a Memory Unit over the flash drive tbh.
It's probably just me, but I won't trust the flash drive update until a few months down the line when any little bugs or anything like that can be ironed out.
