Can you charge up batteries with a play and charge kit? I can't find the back of my kit anywhere so I only have the wire and batteries.

This is a bad idea. Don't do it. Attempting to charge non-rechargeable batteries can cause them to burst and leak inside your controller.

I probably wouldn't try this with rechargeable batteries either. Safer to use the charger they came with.

simple solution just plug it in without a battery pack I do it all the time nothing has gone wrong yet apart from me getting electrocuted jokes. seriously try just putting it in without the pack works fine.

It powers the controller, it doesn't charge anything. I used to do it before my play and charge packed in

I wouldn't try it. It will likely burn your rechargeables out.
