John McClane (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/920/920044.html) may be back for yet another one-man battle against evil. A few months ago, Bruce Willis (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/912/912513.html) had said (http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/107/1071302p1.html) he was up for a fifth installment of the venerable Die Hard franchise, and now Fox is in talks with a writer for the project.

Risky Business (http://riskybusiness.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/05/04/skip-woods-fox-john-mcclane-die-hard-bruce-willis-exclusive/) has the report that scripter Skip Woods (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/911/911627.html) is in negotiations with the studio to pen Die Hard 5 (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/062/062770.html). Woods has previously written Swordfish, Hitman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The A-Team. All of which leads us to believe that we shouldn't expect McClane to start spouting Shakespearean dialogue in his next adventure.

There are no details yet on the plot or a timeline for when the film will actually get made, but stay tuned.

I need this like I need a hole in my head.

The most recent one was a joke and a half. I can't believe they're doing this... Well, I mean, I can, but I wish I couldn't... If that makes any sort of sense. :p

Another one? I haven't truly enjoyed Die Hard since the first one.

Fantastic. No Die Hard villain will be as good as Alan, but whatever, it's Die Hard. Always fun.

Not sure about the director, though..

I havn't not liked any of the Die Hard movies. I will see this one, too. Milking it, yea, but oh well it's mindless entertainment.

I thought they had to do enough convincing to get Bruce Willis to do Die Hard 4, nevermind another one...but personally I enjoyed it, though the original three are of course much better.

Some movies just need to be rated R. Die Hard movies are those movies.

I'll probably see it in 2-3 years when it actually comes out.

Exactly. Live Free or Die Hard was easily the worst movie, but on th whole it still wasn't bad. I mean fuck, it's an action movie after all. What the hell do you want.

Die Hard 4 Summed up in this Penny-Arcade Cartoon

Reminds me of the time a few friends and I went to see #4. Three of us knew what we were in for, but the other didn't - He'd never seen a Die Hard! When we left the theater, he wouldn't shut up about how things should've been done differently, or didn't make sense. Idiot..

As Dak mentioned, it's a fuckin' action movie. I don't know what he was expecting. I simply cannot understand people who expect a deep plot from a movie like Die Hard. You're not getting a deep plot, you're getting cheesy lines about TV dinners and awesome, non-stop action, and you will like it!

Agree with Dak. I went to the theaters to see watch Die Hard 4 for the action and I liked it. Sure it was the worst Die Hard but the other 3 were rlly good well the 2nd one was decent

Oh boy.. do it in a skyscraper again though.

No way.
Do it on a boat, or a train. and call it Die Under Hard Siege.
And then put the next one in a geodesic self sustaining structure and call it Die Hard:Bio Dome
