Nier is one of those games, for me at least, that achievements are not required for some more game time. I'll take any extra content they'll throw at us. I'm really surprised at the story involved in this DLC though. I always wondered what happened to his wife, especially after his little dialog with Emil at the Kind of Facade's castle, but figured that was long in the past and would never be touched.
To be honest, Nier could stand to gain from a lot of information as to what happeneded prior to Nier's plight. The game did a semi-decent job of explaining the whys of now, but it in no way form or fashion cared to describe how things ended up as they were, i.e. how did the world get this way, which is my only major complaint with the game.

So, I apparently misread the text in the DLC.
You have to change your outfits from the main menu Options list. You can't do it in-game.
Also, is it just the 3 rooms or is there more once you complete those?

It cool :)
The dlc look a BIT more challenging than the main game and have some good 2D segment that in my opinion was lacking in the main game :)
Look like a nice dlc for fan that want to know a bit more on game background story, but still i only played about 20 mins in it.
Playing as the young nier is weird!?

This comment is @Strid.
Highlight the area under this text to read the comment, I made it white so it wouldn't ruin it on accident for anyone who hasn't gotten as far as I commented.
At the end of the game in the series of boss fights leading up to the Shadowlord, dialog between Devola, Popola, Wiess, and Nier actually explain how the world got the way it was. It was minimal at best, but they stated that the real humans 1,300 years ago created "humans" that exist in the world today, they also began experimenting on themselves and the result was them turning into Shades. So the "humans" in the game aren't actually humans, just vessels that the real humans planned on using to store their souls, and the Shades are what's left of real humans.
Like I said, minimal at best, but they explain it somewhat and kind of expect you to piece together the backward technology and so on.

So quick question then I just ordered the game and should be getting it next week.
Since I didn't play any of it yet and the dlc is pre-game do you think it is a good idea to start with the dlc?
I read something about new weapons and stuff so are you able to start with the dlc and then carry on with the acuired weapons?

Offliner, don't quote me on this, but from what I had heard, the DLC shades do not scale up with you, just like the regular shades don't. And I had heard from guys at level 43 that it was hard enough for them, having to heal often. So at level 1, I doubt you could do it.
I have yet to get the DLC though (hopefully this weekend) so I could confirm it for you then if it does scale or not, but I'm pretty sure someone else from here will have by then.

Well ok thanks for the answer for now I'm going to assume the dlc shouldn't be played before finishing the game.
I don't have time to play it right now anyway so I'll have some time to think about it.
